Can You Handle the Pressure - Twist - Sympathy

Hello Friends, thanks for stopping by today!

We have a new challenge starting today over on our new Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge Blog and the TWIST theme is ...

Sympathy

Remember, the twist is optional but you MUST use an embossing folder on your projects to qualify for the prize.  Heat embossing is also permitted but only in conjunction with an embossing folder.

Here's what I've created to inspire you today ...

Today for my background panel, I've used an embossing folder I received while being a member of the Spellbinder 3D EF Club a couple years back called Spring Burst.  This is actually the first time I've used it (good grief!) lol.   I embossed onto a very light pink card stock so ran my hot pink inked sponge dauber over it very lightly to give it a bit of a highlight.  My sentiment is from my Doni Collection and is one in a set from Paper Smooches.  A chipboard flower and a few black Nuvo drops and my card is ready to send comforting greeting to someone in need.

I do hope you'll come check out our challenge blog and play along.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,
I appreciate it more than you'll ever know!!

Spring

 Hello again . . .

I have a second card for today ... sorry couldn't help myself!
So many fabulous challenge blogs in blogland!

This one was created for the Sunday Stamps Challenge which ends on March 6th.
Here's their inspiration image . . .

This was a fun sketch that worked perfectly with this beautiful Brutus Monroe 'Secret Garden' designer paper.  This panel made me think of Spring so I went to by binder of word dies and pulled the Frantic Stamper (FRA-9402) SPRING die and cut it using the same card stock I used to mat the designer paper panel.

Hope your birthday is 'peachy' . . .

 Hello friends ...

I have a card to share with you today that was created with the latest sketch offered over on the Freshly Made Sketch Challenge blog as my inspiration.

 Product used is as follows:

The outside 'frame' is an older die  by Memory Box, the orange branches are a stamp from Stampin' Up that I colored with Tombow markers and fussy cut.  I used the remnant ink in my orange sponge dauber to color the area behind the die cut frame.

The Endless Creations sentiment panel was stamped using Stampin' Up 'Pumpkin Pie' ink and die cut using one of the Sue Wilson flag dies (CED4317).

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day ahead!!

Take Time to Smell the Flowers . . .

 Happy Hump Day All . . .

February is running out quickly and I only had a few more days to join in on a fun challenge that I've been enjoying over the past couple of months so I took the time today to quickly create for their fun sketch.

Product used:
OLD 6x6 designer paper
Scraps of card stock
the Paper Studio floral sticker
The Stamp Pad Co. sentiment stamp

The challenge blog is the Paper Players and it's actually one of few WEEKLY challenge blogs out there in blogland.  Most have gone to monthly or bi-monthly.  This is their weekly lineup . . .

Week One: Theme Challenge
Week Two: Color Challenge
Week Three: Clean and Simple Challenge
Week Four: Sketch Challenge
Week Five: Tic Tac Toe

This is SKETCH week and here is the sketch to inspire us . . .

I liked this sketch so much, I had to made a 2nd card.

This time I did something I haven't done in YEARS ... Paper Piecing.
The background paper & paper piecing paper comes from the Mintay 'Fall Festival' 6x6 pad.  The stamp I chose to used for today's design is Simon Says Stamps 'Wild & Free Flowers' (2026ssc).

After coloring the leaves with a Tombow marker, I added the fussy cut paper piece panels the proceeded to fussy cut around the image.  Then I didn't think it stood out on the floral background panel so I adhered it to a scrap of the burgundy card stock I used for the horizontal panel and fussy cut again.  All fussy cutting was done with a swivel craft knife.  The sentiment is a stamp/die set by the TON.

What a lovely sketch ... I'm sure I will I will be using it again soon.

Hope you have a FABULOUS day ahead!

Wood Block Wednesday Challenge

Hello Friends

Amy Tsuruta has her Woodblock Wednesday challenge up and running and I've been trying to join in each month as it gives me the opportunity to play with all my old wooden block stamps which don't get the love they deserve since clear stamps came about.

The wood block stamps I've used today are Stampa Rosa 'Robins in Trees' (circa 1998) and Penny Black 'to say hi' (circa 2006).

I stamped the image onto white card stock twice and colored only one of the images.  Then I die cut a circle from the colored image using a Tutti Designs circle die and popped it up over top the black/white stamped image.

The decorative faux stitching was done with a ruler & a fine time black marker.
Coloring was done with Tombow markers (not sure why the pine looks blue ... it was a green marker!! ?? )

Why not pop over and check out her blog and play along ... you know you have wood block stamps that need some love just like I do!  LOL

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day ahead!!

Sorry you're under the weather . . .

 Hello Friends ...

Speaking of weather ... Holy Moly ... what the heck is going on?
You just don't know from one day to the next what to expect!

I think I'll just hide in my crafting cave until I hear the robin's sing and the sun shining through the curtains lol.

Today I've created a card for the Addicted to CAS Challenge blog (3/6) ✓ where the theme is 'weather'.

In my 'Doni Collection' I spotted this cute Katzelkraft Company mouse and unmarked umbrella and stamped them together.  I colored with Tombow markers and fussy cut.

The background is an old Lawn Fawn die.  I created the sentiment on the computer (pun on words lol) and die cut it using one of the Sue Wilson flag dies.

Challenges to share in:

Simon Says Monday Challenge - Weather (3/2)
Make My Monday Challenge #272 - Card for a Male - any age (3/9)
A Place to Start February Challenge - ATG - Twist/Small critters (2/28)

Well, here we are, the last week of February!
Where is the time going?

I found a couple of fun challenges to play in today!

And, I also wanted to share in a challenge I haven't play in for years and that is over on the Poppystamps Challenge blog where their theme is 'Monochrome'. (Winner)  I went through my various books of dies and came up with a few older Poppystamps to use for my creation.

Here's what I came up with . . .

 Product used:

Background designer paper - P13 'Awakening' 6x6
Poppystamps 'Peaceful Bird'  #929
Poppystamps  'Carolina Birdhouse' #928
Poppystamps 'Dogwood Blossom Corner' #1446
Art Impressions Sentiment Stamp
Stampin' Up Garden Green Ink

 Product used ...

We R Memory Keepers Embossing Folder

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by.
Another snow storm coming through today!  And, we had such a pleasant temperature week last week and got rid of all the snow we had ... ugh!  LOL ... it is only February!!  But all my daffodils popped up out of the ground last week ... dang ... and the lilac will get hit again this year too.  Oh well ... welcome to Ohio!

Hope you have a FABULOUS week ahead!

Cute

 Happy Saturday Friends . . .

I recently placed an order at A Cherry on Top for some of their latest release and when it came I was pleasantly surprised to receive a free 12x12 sheet of beautiful images as a thank you!  My BFF Diane (my favorite enabler lol) also placed an order and received the same sheet of images.  Now I must admit, she's smarter than I am, because she used her Scan & Cut to cut hers ... I spent two days fussy cutting mine because I don't know how to use my Scan & Cut that I bought 2-3 years ago (for shame, for shame!  lol).

Anyways, I have grown to enjoy creating cards in the CAS design style and the theme over on the CAS on Friday blog is 'Cute'. (3/6)    One of the images on the afore mentioned sheet is of a sweet little deer so thought that would be perfect.  Here's my card . . .

Inside view

The two frames I used to showcase this adorable little fawn were extras that were hanging on my 'extras' pegboard and the background designer paper is by Mintay.  The pot of flowers on the inside of my card is another one of those adorable free images.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today!
Hope you have a FABULOUS weekend ahead!

Some-Bunny Loves You

 Hello Friends ...

WOW!  Here we are approaching the end of another week ... time is certainly flying!

Today I've pulled a fun stamp set from my 'Doni Collection' to create this cute card.  Doni always loved those 'cutsie' type stamps and enjoyed coloring & fussy cutting her images then came up with some of the most amazing CAS designs.  I, on the other hand, don't do a lot of cutsie cards but in honor of her I try to create something I think she would like.

This is a stamp set called 'Some Bunny [2018]' from the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps company which sadly closed in 2022.

My design was inspired by the current challenge over on The Paper Player (2/20)  blog where the theme was to create a CAS birthday card with a balloon or balloons.

(EDIT:  Top 3 winner at Paper Players)

I had this Cottage Cutz 'Nested Wacky Stitched Square' (CCB-072) die cut square hanging on my 'extras' pegboard so using it as my guide, I created a sky background by using the My Favorite Things 'cloud' stencil and TH distress oxide ink.  After stamping the bunny I fussy cut it to create my little scene.  The sentiment stamp is also from that same stamp set.

Other challenges to share in:

Critter Crazy Challenge #107 - ATG w/featured critter for Feb (2/25)
Crafty Animals Challenge #102 - ATG w/animals (2/27)
Seize the Birthday #320 - CAS with Dies (2/24)

I hope my card made you smile.

Double D - Signs of Love

Hello Dear Friends!

It's time once again for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!

Here's today's theme:

SIGNS of LOVE

and here's an inspiration board created to help get you started . . .

So many options ... but since I was in need of a couple wedding cards, that's the direction I went in today!    I've started out with one of the Hearty Crafts 'Wedding Couples' toppers and designed my card around that.  For my framing I've used the Sue Wilson 'Garden Delight' set (#CED4360) and colored the flowers in using Tombow markers, water & artist brush.

I used a Tombow marker that I also used for the flowers to do the hand drawn edging on my card front.  The Frantic Stamper (FRA-DIE-09496) Congrats sentiment die was cut from a scrap of pink card stock.  A few little gems were added to the flower centers for that touch of wedding sparkle.

The 3D topper & die sets used today ...

You'll want to be sure to pop over to the Double D Challenge Blog to see all the details and amazing samples offered up by our VERY TALENTED design team ladies!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hope to see you at Double D!
