DD - Here Comes Santa Claus!

Hello Friends!
It's time for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!
Team Darlene is hosting today and the theme is:

Here Comes Santa Claus
(Use SANTA on your card/project)

Here's the inspiration board I have created to help you get started . .

For my card creation today, I have jumped into
some very old Graphic45 Christmas papers and images.
I just LOVE vintage styled Santa's
and this is one of my favorites.
I have used Sue Wilson 'Snowflake Background' to help showcase Santa and
Sue Wilson Designs - Festive Collection - Snowflake Background
and panel from a different 12x12 Graphic45 holiday paper pack
called 'Christmas Emporium' peeks through from the back.

The sentiment was included on the original photo of Santa in the paper pack
but I did a little fussy cutting, added red stickles to the berries
and Wink of Stella to the holly to use as my accent panel.

Birds on a wire . . .

Hello Friends!
WOW have you seen the latest October Release dies at the Tutti Designs Store?
They are stained glass style and they are fabulous!

Today I've used the 'Birds Stained Glass' die for my creation ...

TUTTI-400 Birds Stained Glass

I decided to use the Inlaid technique for my card.
It took a little time and patience but I LOVE the outcome!!
It actually looks like a stained glass piece!!

I first die cut my image from black card stock to use as my base.
Then I cut a red panel to use for the birds and a green panel
to use for the leaves.

I adhered my black outline onto white card stock using the Nuvo
medium glue pen.  Then I started inlaying the birds.
Once they were completed I inlaid the leaves.
Then cut my white frame to create my focus panel.

Once my inlaid was completed, I matted the entire panel
onto the same green card stock as the leaves and
centered it onto my red card stock background panel.
Using a ruler and white gelly roll pen,
I created my faux stitching.

Here's another peek at the finished creation.

Please be sure to pop over to the Tutti Designs Store and check out all of the fabulous dies in this latest release.  And, of course, you'll want to browse through the store to see what other dies you need to have on hand.

Birthday cards for the Wee Ones!

Happy Friday Everyone!

I'm in Michigan visiting with my crafting friend Diane Hover (Nellie's Nest) and we are having a FABULOUS time!  Participated in a 'Paddle Auction' Wednesday evening where I actually WON a cool prize, went shopping in Shipshewana Indiana yesterday (weather was cold and windy) but we had a great day!  Today we are doing a little cookie baking for a charity event, shopping at a local bizzare then crafting!  Then tomorrow the highlight of the week ... taking the train into Chicago Christmas Shopping ... going to be great fun!

Anyways ... since I have a few minutes this morning I thought I'd share a few cards I created for my craft show last weekend that I didn't have time to share until now.  The show was a huge success I'm happy to say!

I have used Frantic Stamper - Cute Dino on each of these cute kids cards.
And, the Happy & Birthday are from Tutti Designs.
The background designer papers are from various companies that I had in my stash!

Well Diane's ready to go shopping so I'd better cut this short!
Happy Day All!
We are 'off and running' ... LOL!

Winter Fun at the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge Blog

Hello Friends!

I'm so excited today!!
Last month my cards (here) were chosen as the #1 pick in the Top 3 for the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge #436!  Yes, how cool is that!  And, that means I was asked to be their Guest Designer for today's challenge!  What an honor and what fun!!

Their challenge theme is:

** WINTER **

AND, they have two fabulous sponsors for this challenge . . .

Sponsor 1:Scrap N Dipity
Scrap N' Dipity
Prize is 3 images of choice from Scrap N Dipity.

The prize is 3 digital stamps of choice from Lacy Sunshine Stamps.

I have created with the Lacy Sunshine Stamp called

This image was so much fun to color and create with!
I actually used my 'old' ZIG markers for today's coloring.  Tutti Designs 'Nesting Stitched Rectangles' were used to showcase Eleanor.  DCWV Glitter paper was used for the matting.  The icicle panel was punched using an old Martha Stewart icicle punch from white card stock ... then sponged with Tim Holtz Mermaid Lagoon distress ink which was then coated using the Nuvo Wide Glue Pen & Deco Art Glamour Dust for the sparkle.  Same process was used on Eleanor's 'fuzzy' elements.

Now I have a CONFESSION to share!

When I first read the guest designer instruction email, I missed one very important element of that email!  The THEME!  Yep, I created the card below before realizing what I had done!  LOL  SO, today is a 2 for 1 share day!  And I now have 2 cards for mailing this upcoming holiday season!  YEAH!!!

The same basic coloring & sparkle were used on both images.  However, I really should have had that snowflake charm on my WINTER card but it was my last one so it is what it is!  LOL!  Still looks cute on this card I think.  OLD OLD scraps of designer paper were used for the background on this card and touches of Stickles & Nuvo Crystal drops helped to add an extra touch of sparkle and texture.

Celebration time is near . . .

Hello Friends!
Today's card was created for the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog and I think it will be perfect  for the upcoming holiday season.

I wasn't sure where this creation was headed but I knew I wanted to use these cute 'baby deers ... aka fawn'!  LOL  The dies I have used for today's card are as follows:

Poppystamps 'Curious Fawn'

Poppystamps - Dies - Curious Fawn
Poppystamps 'Cute Fawn'

Poppystamps - Dies - Cute Fawn
Poppystamps 'Evangeline Floating Square'

Poppystamps - Dies - Evangeline Floating Square

Memory Box 'Fresh Pine Landscape'

Memory Box - Dies - Fresh Pine Landscape (NEW)

Tutti Designs Word Set 'Celebrate'

Tutti Designs - Word Set - Celebrate

When I die cut my Floating Square, I realized there was enough room on the end of my paper scrap to die cut another panel.  So I did, then cut & glued them together.  Even though I had planned on popping this panel up, I like that this method gave my square more stability.

I've had this sheet of shiny blue film paper in my stash for a long time ... in fact, I think a friend gave it to me along with a lot of other papers etc when she was moving out of the country.  It was perfect to create the cold winter's day sky background for today's card.

Now that I have my pieces all cut, I'm ready to start creating my wintry scene.  OH and BTW ... ignore that cute snow covered fence panel in the upper right corner, you'll be seeing it on another creation ... it didn't really work out well for today's card.

You've seen me do this before with my sentiment dies and I'm sure you'll see it again in the future, but I love the effect you get when stacking your die cut words.  If you haven't tried this technique yet ... give it a try ... you'll love how it looks.

The little blue glitter snowflakes were left over on my work table from a previous project.

I hope you've enjoyed what I've shared today!  And, don't forget to come join in the fun at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  There's a new challenge theme offered on the 1st and 15th of each month and one lucky randomly drawn winner will receive a gift voucher prize to the Dies R Us Store.

Before I go, I thought you might like a closer look at these cute little baby deer.  I've added a little white to their ears and tails, gave them eyes and a cute red nose.  I think they might be future Rudolphs in training!

Let The Sparkle Fly!

Hello Everyone!
It's time for a new challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters!

Happily, I am your hostess today and the theme I have chosen is:

Let The Sparkle Fly ...
( use glitter ... shine ... sparkle of any type)

Wow was this quick ... easy & fun!
By simply die cutting the Tutti Designs 'Nesting Stitched Stars' (#215) from the Paper Studio 'Glittered Cardstock' (Gold, Green & Red) my card was 90% complete.  The Frantic Stamper 'Merry Christmas' (FRA-09619) was also cut from the same glitter cardstock in red and a few matching sequins positioned here & there made my card 100% ready for the postman.

The sparkle of this card stock is AMAZING and works perfectly for me since I seem to be 'glitter challenged'!  Even using the smallest amount of loose glitter ends up all over my face/hands/table ... ugh!  I think I'll stick with this awesome paper pack (purchased at Hobby Lobby BTW) for my holiday sparkle this year!

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun at The Sisterhood of Crafters!
My 'sistahs' have created some fabulous creations to help inspire you ... be sure to pop over and check them out!  You have until November 19th to join in the fun!!

See you there!

Hello

Hello Friends!
Today I'm sharing a creation using one of the new Stained Glass Dies

The particular die I have used is the Winter Tree Stained Glass
TUTTI-408 Winter Tree Stained Glass
Here are the steps taken for today's card . . .

I die cut my image from white card stock and colored with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.
I wanted to showcase the sun so I die cut a circle using the Tutti Designs Nesting Stitched Circle dies and glued it to the back of my panel.  Using the closest sized Tutti Designs Nesting Stitched Rectangles, I laid it behind my image and drew a light pencil line showing there the sky ended and the grass began.  Then sponged Tim Holtz distress inks on the panel to create the background color.

Adding glue to the back of my 'Sun', I attached my colorful background panel before matting the entire framed image to a panel of black card stock.

To decorate the front I decided to use the Tutti Designs Butterfly Scroll die.
TUTTI-103 Butterfly Scroll

For the bottom corner embellishment, I die cut it 4 times from white card stock and glued them all together in a stack.  Coloring only one panel to be used for the top of my stack.   Another panel was cut & colored to use in the upper right corner.  This is a single cut and after adhering to my card front, I snipped off the remainder.

Please be sure to pop over to the Tutti Designs Store and check out all of the fabulous dies in this latest release.  And, of course, you'll want to browse through the store to see what other dies you need to have on hand.

For a Special Birthday!

Hello  Friends!
Today I'm sharing a Special Birthday card!
I actually have THREE friends who celebrate their birthday
on Christmas Day!  I'm sure that was either really cool or really bad
when they were kids!  LOL

Even though I have used traditional Christmas colors,
I chose to use something other than holiday styled
dies for their cards.

This is a very simple design (which makes them easy to mail) using just a few dies from the Tutti Designs Store.
Here are the dies I have used . . .

Butterfly Corner from our very first release.

TUTTI-107 Butterfly Corner
And from our December 2016 Release,

No automatic alt text available.

Just to add a little 'whimsical' element to their cards,
I decided to use the hearts that popped out of the corner
die to 'dot the I's' in the sentiment.

Waste Not ... Want Not!  LOL

Please be sure to pop over to the Tutti Designs Store and check out all of the fabulous dies in this latest release.  And, of course, you'll want to browse through the store to see what other dies you need to have on hand.
