Birthday Flowers . . .

Hello Everyone and Welcome to the start of another week!
Where is the time going?????

My card today was created from the NEED to get inky with my Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks.  I spotted the challenge over at "Just Us Girls' where they are looking for 'Ink Blending'.
And, I have done a LOT of 'ink blending' on this creation.

I also spotted the color challenge over on the Your Next Stamp Blog and so I chose my colors with that challenge in mind,  using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks . . . Pistachio, Spiced Marmalade, Amber and Worn Lipstick.

The stamp sets I have used are Altenew 'Adore You' and Simon Says 'Thoughtful Messages'.  There was a lot of 'fussy cutting' on this creation and I really like the end result.

I used the same ink colors and created two different 4x6 panels.  One I used for the background and the other I used to stamp & fussy cut my flowers/leaves.  I used Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to add some definition to the edges of my floral panels and then did some 'shaping' with my stylus.

Every since I learned how to 'shape' flowers & leaves, I have a really difficult time just leaving them 'flat'!   However, I did leave my Sue Wilson 'Greek Island Collection Ivy Border' flat (and it's driving me crazy!  lol).  The fence I used in the background is from Impression Obsession ... called 'large fence'.

  4. Holy Smokes! This is just BEYOND! I looooove what you have created here! And color me stupid but NOW I understand those detailed lines on the flowers. I have the Wild Hibiscus set from Altenew (among others) and now I 'get it'....duh.....they are the underside of the petals, yes? If not....definitely color me stupid lol I love how you have added more life to those beautiful flowers with the shaping! THIS IS BEAUTIFUL!!!

  5. This.... is my kind of card! I wish that I could make one just like this. Seriously! It is over the top gorgeous and I am pinning. I have the stamp set and have not used it recently. I may make two of these cards. Something that I usually don't do. Can you tell that I am impressed?

  7. Wow, wowie, WOW! The background you created is amazing! So fantastic that you made the flowers in the same color. I love that idea! The shaping brings them to life, and they're so pretty on the fence. Your ivy looks just fine, so please don't go crazy. What inspiration here today!

  11. Oh my, Darlene, what an amazing card! I've never worked with oxide inks but the more I see them, the more I want to. The colours in your card are simply amazing. The detailed fussy-cutting you did really paid off. The way you've shaped those blooms in front of and behind the die-cut fence is absolutely gorgeous. You've made more than a card here---it's a real keep-sake. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
