Ho! Ho! Ho!

Busy! Busy! Busy!

Hello my friends and Happy Saturday!
I've been a little lax on my crafting lately ... just so busy getting ready for the holidays with cleaning, decorating, shopping ... I'm sure you understand completely!

However, I'm in my cave today making Christmas cards that WE can send to our friends and family!  I'm thrilled that I sold so many this year (more money for the Akron Children's Hospital teddy bear drive my granddaughter is sponsoring) but it left me a little 'short' on cards for myself!  LOL!

I considered sending out 'store bought' (eeks) cards but then thought better of the idea since I'm sure I would get a lot of "WHAT?  No homemade card from the 'card lady' this year?!?" from many of my friends/family!  LOL!  So here's a couple I whipped up last evening ...

I have a LOT of bits & pieces laying on my worktable so I thought it would be a quick start to turn those pieces into cards.  The card above is a NAVY card base which I've torn white (scrap) cardstock to make the mounds of snow and placed my Marianne (Christmas Village 2) house into.  Waterfall Stickles was used on the edges of the snow mounds and the falling snow was created with a white Gelly Roll Pen.  Santa is Cheery Lynn Designs and the corner snowflake is Memory Box.

This second card was a really quick card since I had the homemade background already for use.  I was playing one day with a snowflake that I had diecut from a Spellbinder set, Tim Holtz broken china ink and a sponge.  And, this is what I created in a matter of minutes!
The image is from Crafty Secrets, again the corner snowflake is Memory Box and the icicle border is Martha Stewart.  The inside sentiment on both cards is by Great Impressions and the tree is PSX.

Here's a few challenges I'd like to enter:
A Creative Romance - Sparkle at Christmas
Brown Sugar - Christmas
Card Makin' Mamas - Christmas and/or New Years
Challenges & Candies - Winter Magic
Craftitude - Anything Goes - Christmas Sparkle

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
We are expecting up to 6" of snow today ... good day to work on more holiday cards!
Those of you in the snow belt ... stay safe & warm!
As always . . .

  1. These are just beautiful. It amazes me the vision you have when staring at a "blank" card. Yes, we would all be disappointed with a store bought card from you. Talk about multi-tasking, cleaning up your cave while getting Christmas cards made...a win-win as far as I can see.

  4. Love that background you created, Dar! It's the perfect frame for that darling image. I AM buying cards this year....I"m simply out of time and energy. Or, maybe I'll just write a Christmas news letter instead. Simplicity.....that's the key. Hope you have a wonderful holiday with all the folks you love. Your blog even looks festive!
