Can You Handle the Pressure - Twist - Pumpkins or the Color Orange

Hello Friends, thanks for stopping by today!

We have a new challenge starting today over on our new Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge Blog and the TWIST theme is ...

Pumpkins or the Color Orange

Remember, the twist is optional but you MUST use an embossing folder on your projects to qualify for the prize.  Heat embossing is also permitted but only in conjunction with an embossing folder.

Here's what I've created to inspire you today.

Today I've used one of my OLD Cuttlebug Frame embossing folders.  This folder is A2 in size and my card is A6 so after embossing, I then used a Hero Arts 'Pumpkin Bunch' layering stencil for my focus image.  An orange card base helped pull it all together.

I do hope you'll come check out our challenge blog and play along.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,
I appreciate it more than you'll ever know!!

As always . . .

Purple is MY color . . .

 Happy Thursday friends . . .

When I spotted the theme over on 'The Flower Challenge' to be

I just knew I wanted to join in the fun!
After all, PURPLE is my all time favorite color ... just ask anyone who knows me LOL.

Since I'm running out of time (busy creating for a Nov. 1st craft show) I though I'd better get something made and entered before the 'time was up!'.  So, here's what I quickly made for this fun challenge ...

I have some beautiful 'purple' papers and I had a difficult time deciding which one to use today so I chose the paper pack that was on top and ran with it.  That paper pack is the Prima 'Aquarelle Dreams' 6x6 pack.  I also recently purchased a sheet of the Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby) purple floral stickers (#2405801) so put the two together and came up with this beauty.

I've matted my dp using orchid card stock, added a 'the TON' sentiment and VIOLA.
I'm very pleased with the outcome.  What are your thoughts??

Wood Block Wednesday Challenge

Hello Friends

Amy Tsuruta has her Woodblock Wednesday challenge up and running and I've been trying to join in each month as it gives me the opportunity to play with all my old wooden block stamps which don't get the love they deserve since clear stamps came about.

The wood block stamps I've used today are 'Friends Forever' by Art Gone Wind and my sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts and called 'Time to Enjoy'.

The background paper I've used for today's card is from a Mintay 6x6 paper pack called 'Lovely Day'.  I've used Tombow markers to color these lovely ladies and Tutti Designs 'Scallop Stitched Rectangle' dies for the matting.  A few old Prima flowers with Nuvo Crystal Drop centers were added as an embellishment.

Why not pop over and check out her blog and play along ... you know you have wood block stamps that need some love just like I do!  LOL

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day ahead!!
As always . . .

I just LOVE the Unity 'Autumnal Blooms' paper pack

True Friends . . .

Hello Friends

Fall is upon us but we all know it won't be long before the 'white stuff' is flying, and since I enjoy making Fall themed cards (love those colors) I wanted to play along in a few challenge I spotted over on Paper Playful.  So here we go . . .

I noticed a few very old wood block stamps in my stash and that's where this all started!  First is the Inkadinkado swirly stamp which I've used to create my background and my sentiment stamp is by stampingsensations.com (also very old & no longer in business).  I've had both of these stamps in my stash for YEARS.

I have used 3 Tim Holtz distress oxide inks on my swirly stamp to stamp & create my background panel.  I then ran it through a Fall Leaves embossing folder.  After cutting my base card, I used the scraps and cut a few narrow strips to use for my design.  A Tutti Designs Scallop Stitched Rectangle die was used to die cut my sentiment panel.  Using a few other scraps, I die cut a few maple leaves to coordinate with the background embossing.

VIOLA!

Here's a closer image of the embossing in case you can't see it in the above photo . . .

I'm very pleased with the outcome and hope you like it too!

Double D - Halloween Colors

 Hello Dear Friends!

It's time once again for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!

Here's today's theme:

HALLOWEEN COLORS

and here's an inspiration board created to help get you started . . .

My mind was going in so many different directions but I knew I did not want to do a Halloween card so this is what I came up with using strips of Halloween color strips of card stock to create my background.

Using the largest die in the Paper Rose (#16679) 'Stitched Rectangle Frames' die set (one of my favorite sets), I created the frame in black then die cut it again from white card stock to use for my inside panel.

I had this really cool Fall sticker from one of my sticker books and after adding her to the white inside panel, I did a little faux stitching and added a Hello die sentiment.

You'll want to be sure to pop over to the Double D Challenge Blog to see all the details and amazing samples offered up by our VERY TALENTED design team ladies!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hope to see you at Double D!
