Cards from Ads . . .

I just had to share this card with you!
Here's the story behind this beauty . . .

A few weeks ago, in our daily mail delivery was my Birds & Blooms magazine and inside the cover were several ADS (as you find in all magazines).  My husband goes through all the mail and when he saw this AD for family subscriptions ... he handed it to me and said  ... "here, you can probably make a card out of this".

Well, after it laid on my worktable for several days I finally decided yesterday to see what I could do with it!  NOW, I wished I had taken a photo of this black & white AD before I touched it up with Prismacolor markers and added Deco Art Glamour Dust for sparkle.  I'm really glad Mark handed this AD to me ... it certainly made a really pretty holiday card.

Who ever said 'you can find inspiration everywhere' knew what they were talking about!

BIG SNOW STORM coming ... guess where I'll be hiding out???  Yep, you got it ... crafting cave here I come!!

  1. Well, I think your husband knows you well, Darlene! Sounds like something mine would do!

Stay warm & cozy in your cave, my friend!

  2. Lovely card, Dar! You are so lucky to have a honey who helps you find inspiration! :)

  3. What a beautiful picture. I would love to be in that sleigh. You did a great job creating a beautiful card with a picture from a magazine.

  4. It's beautiful Darlene, reminds me of the old Courier and Ives (I hope I spelled that correctly-lol!)one of my favorites since I was a child. You did a beautiful job with it - love the boldness of the blue. Take Care and Merry Christmas to you if I don't get back around again. Hugs, Dru

  5. WOWEE!! This is so gorgeous Dar!! I love the scenery and the added snowflakes!! Beautiful!! Hope you enjoy your weekend friend!!HUGS

  6. What a find! And your coloring on this is so beautifully done, Darlene. Love the sparkle, too.
