Color Throwdown Featured Stamper

Hello Everyone and Welcome back to my blog!

I'm so thrilled to share some exciting news today!
I was chosen as Featured Stamper over on the Color Throwdown Challenge Blog
for this card which I created for their challenge #679.  That means they
have asked me to be their guest designer for today's challenge.  Thanks Color Throwdown!!

Here's the colors we are creating with this time around . . .

I must admit this turned out to be a true 'challenge' for me but
that's what it's all about ... right!

I recently purchased a few stamps from Rubbernecker and since I
had yet to put them away, they were sitting on the table just
begging to be used ... so I obliged lol.

The two stamps I used are Rubbernecker 'Happy Birthday Frame'

and 'Birthday Vase Set'.

I have used Tombow markers to watercolor my image.
And, white Nuvo Crystal Drops for the flower centers as well
as Pale Pink Nuvo Drops for the corner embellishment.

A relatively simple design but I still think it came out very
pretty with this color combination.

I hope you'll come check out today's challenge over on
the Color Throwdown Challenge Blog and then play along.

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by today!
Please stay safe & healthy out there!

As always . . .

Sketch 248 & Color Throwdown 62

I decided to combine today's Sketch Challenge over on SCS (SC248)with today's Color Challenge over on the Color Throwdown (CTD62). Don't these colors look great together?? I can honestly say I would have NEVER thought to put them together, but I'm sure glad Broni did!!! Now mind you, it was okay to not use them ALL ... but hey, that was part of the challenge for me, LOL!!!

This should be almost like a "no brainer" challenge when you've already got your colors picked for you as well as the layout! Well, I can tell you this NO BRAINER became a little tough for me ... I am, however, happy to say with a few lost hours of laying things out .... looking at this stamp & that ... I finally came up with an idea I was happy with.
I used all four colors required for the Throwdown plus I made a panel for behind the leaves using white CS and stippled with the olive, rust & razzleberry colors. The leaves were made with really rust cs and the Spellbinder Shapeabilities Fall Leaves ... then sponged the Razzleberry & Olive on top. The "Fall Colors" stamp is by Inkadinkado and was stamped using Kaleidocolor Autumn Leaves ink. Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Another COMBO card creation ...

This card was created for today's Color Throwdown Challenge and the sketch challenge over on SCS.

Here are the materials details:

Stamps: Embrace Life, Wordsworth

Papers: Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, Always Artichoke, Basic Grey (porcelain)

Inks: Versafine black

Accessories: Detail Clear EP, Fiskars Apron Lace Border Punch, Basic Grey Opaline Pearls, Faiser Pearls, dimensionals, Fiskars swivel craft knife

I just love how you can now find pearls in all colors and sizes! I think they make such a wonderful addition to any card! Here I've used them to accent the flower center as well as using the larger pearls for a finishing touch in the lower corner. (click on the image for a closer look)

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed this creation!! Have a wonderful day in whatever you are doing!!

Color Throwdown #57

Time for another Color Throwdown Challenge! What do you think of this color combo?? My first thought was "baby card"! So that's exactly the direction I took. I personally don't have much need these days for baby cards but I'm sure someone in the family will ... so, here we go!!

I have used Bashful Blue, wasn't sure what Positively Pink was so I used Melon Mambo and for the Certainly Celery ... I thought this piece of Anna Griffin designer paper was "close enough". Due to the fact that this cute little rockin' horse was an RAK from my online friend Kay Squires (waving Hi to Kay) ... I don't know who makes it ... but if you know (or if Kay's out there) please let me know and I will edit this post. I've used SU watercolor pencils and blender pens for the coloring and Nestabilities Labels One for the layout/matting. The ribbon is double sided satin from Michael's and I've used my Bow Easy (which I purchased from Sharon Johnson's Ribbon Store) to make this perfect bow! I know it's hard to see, but I've used a Signo white pen and made little dots at the four corners of my main image. Pretty easy peasy ... but oh so cute!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today ... it means so much to me!! Hope you're having a wonderful day!! I'm having a few friends in to "PLAY" tomorrow so I'd better get my house cleaning started! LOL!!
*******
EDIT ... I just heard from Kay and this cute little image is "Stamps by Judith".

Combining challenges ...

I was very short on stamping time yesterday so before leaving the house in the morning I was able to combine the weekly SCS Sketch Challenge with this week's Color Throwdown Challenge. Over on the color throwdown, Broni chose to use some of the new IN-COLORS and this is what I came up with. Here are the details on this card:

Stamps: SU Fruit Stand

Papers: dusty durango, bermuda bay, soft suede, BoBunny dp, white glossy cardstock

Inks: Versafine blk, summer sun, pumpkin pie, close to cocoa

Accessories: distresser, SU soft suede grosgrain ribbon

Here is another card which I made for the sketch challenge over on Carol's Sketch Fun #12 ... only to realize later that I had already created a card for that challenge ... that's okay, can never have enough "generic" cards ... right!!
Details for this card are:
Stamps: B-Line Designs
Papers: Mellow Moss, Colorbok (Tracey Porter) dp
Inks: Versafine black
Accessories: SU watercolor pencils, blender pen, Bazzill paper flower, Darice grosgrain ribbon, Pebbles Inc. candy dots
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I appreciate your time and kind words!
