Color Throwdown #40

It's Wednesday and time for another Color Throwdown Challenge. Today's challenge is hosted by Barbara Anders - Paper Pursuits. Why not pop over and check out the beautiful samples created by these talented ladies and play along ... it's great fun!

I've used the colors required: Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip & Sage Shadow as well as this springy floral designer paper from the Basic Grey Sultry 6 x 6 pack. It seems I was "on a roll" using my Cuttlebug on this card! I've used the "stylized flowers" A-2 embossing folder on the pink panel ... the floral border embossing folder on the top of the chocolate chip panel and the butterfly is from the Spellbinder Shapeabilities which was also run through the Cuttlebug. I thought the Martha Stewart Arch Trellis border punch was perfect with all the "posies" on this card and my ribbons are SU grosgrain.

I took this close up of the Shapeabilities butterfly so you could get a better view of the dimension this embellishment has. (you can click on the image for an even larger view) There is no stamping on this card but that's okay ... I can use it for a variety of occassions and will find the appropriate inside verse when that time comes. It's nice to have a couple "generic" cards in my stash for those times when you need it in a hurry!! Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!!!

Update: Mark's numbers are climbing and that's a good thing ... that means his body has begun taking over again and creating a new immune system. Although that will take some time (1 year to get to 100%) at least it has accepted the new cells and doing what it's supposed to be doing. On the flip side of that good news is the bad news that he will remain in the hospital again today due to the excessive diarrhea he has from the C-dif infection and from coming off the pain meds. Needless to say, he is NOT a happy camper ... he wants to go home in the worst kind of way! Maybe tomorrow ... we'll keep our fingers crossed!!

  9. Sweet butterfly and you know sometimes it's Ok to not use stamps on cards and just go for it.
