Wise Old Owl ...

Hello everyone!
Today I'm creating for the Cheapo Dies Blog and I'm using the newly released 'Owl Scene' die as my focus.   Be sure to pop over and see all the fabulous dies in this latest release at the Cheapo Dies Store.

and I've also used the Cursive Font dies to create my sentiment.

I've used a very old sheet of 12x12 designer paper for my wooded background and have colored the owl using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  I've colored and kept the punched out pieces by adding a touch of scotch tape to the back and also die cutting it again and gluing the two panels together for added dimension.

If you're not familiar with Cheapo Dies, you are missing out!!!

What are YOU doing today??

Hello friends!
It's been a little quiet on my blog recently so I thought I'd share with you one of the reasons why!
My Fall show at the Country Club was Wednesday and it was a great success.  And, from that show I got an order for 400 of these sweet holiday candy boxes.  Yes, I said 400 ... egads what was I thinking??

They are for a holiday function held the end of November, beginning of December so I have a little time but since these are all made from SCRATCH I need to get on them immediately.  Luckily my daughter came up yesterday and gave me a hand for a few hours ... huge help.

Hopefully I'm off to a good start ... now to just keep the momentum going!  LOL

Last evening I went to the airport and picked up my high school friend Dorothy Daley who will be staying with us for a few days.  She & I are attending our 50th class reunion this evening.  OMG where has the time gone??  Can't wait to see some old friends!

Also, my house is still in a shambles from having painters here the last 4 days but that will all have to wait until next week.  LOL can only do so many things at one time!  LOL

As always, thanks SO MUCH for taking the time to stop by!

Sisterhood of Crafters - Fall is in the Air!

Hello dear friends!
Wow!  Time is sure flying by!
I can't believe it's already time for a new challenge over

The theme today is a fun one hosted by Marsha . . .
 FALL IS IN THE AIR
What comes to mind when you think of Fall?

Of course, living in Ohio, the first thing
that comes to my mind is the beautiful Fall Color
of the leaves.

TUTTI-388 Leaves Background

But before die cutting, I created a 'fall' colored watercolor
panel using various color of Tim Holtz Oxide Distress Ink
onto watercolor paper.

The 'FALL' sentiment squares is from Crafty Secrets
(sorry ... they are no longer in business).

A few fall colored sequins and VIOLA!

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun at The Sisterhood of Crafters!
My 'sistahs' have created some fabulous creations to help inspire you ...

Word Art Wednesday - Guest Designer

Hello friends!
I'm excited to share with you today, a card I created
as the Guest Designer over on the Word Art Wednesday Challenge Blog.
I'm thrilled to have been asked to guest design for them ... thanks Karen!

This is the beautiful verse we are creating with today and I
wanted to bring full focus to these strong words.

The design paper I used is by Echo Park and called 'Have Faith'
And, my butterfly is a die by BoBunny.  To bring definition between one
panel and another I've used a Gold Pilot marker to edge each panel.
This way I've achieve definition without adding more weight to my
card with adding card stock matting.

I hope you'll come join in the challenge and thanks again to Karen for
asking me to Guest Design ... it's been my pleasure!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
As always . . .

Ha! Ha! Funny! Funny!

Hello Friends!
Kind of crazy around my house today with the start of our 'Let's Paint Every Room in the Downstairs' project!  LOL  Of course, I don't do the painting anymore (too old for doing that up & down off the ladder) but the guys we've hired do an amazing job so I'm happy to let them 'have at it'!!

My Fall show at the local Country Club is tomorrow so I'm busy today making sure I have everything I want to take and will pack the car in the early a.m.  With it raining outdoors I don't want to take a chance of moisture warping my cards even though my car is in the garage!

Here are a couple of cards I created for the 'humorous' category ...

I found the image on Pinterest to go along with this fun sentiment.
I forget where I found the sentiment ... I have an online file that I keep various sentiments in as I find them here and there and think I'd like to use them on a card at some point.

Hope you have a great day!
Now I must get this show stuff together ... I think I'm procrastinating!  LOL

Thanks for stopping by ...

Tutti Designs - Rejoice

Happy Monday Friends!
Today I'm sharing another sweet holiday card
using not just one ... but two (or three) of the fabulous dies from the Tutti Designs Store.

The Tutti Designs dies used on this creation are:

Angel Corner
TUTTI-458 Angel Corner

Madonna & Baby
TUTTI-461 Madonna & Baby

Stitched Nesting Circles

 TUTTI-220 Nesting Stitched Circles

I've used a sheet of musical designer paper for the background as
well as a scrap strip of designer paper as my sentiment panel.

After die cutting my Madonna & Baby panel from Gold Metallic card stock, I die cut a white panel for the backing so the musical paper was what showed through the 'cut outs'.  I still felt it needed some background color so I die cut another panel from a scrap of card stock ... laid it on my white background circle panel then carefully sponged a little blue ink in the areas I wanted identified as the sky.

Next I die cut a couple more Madonna & Baby panels and glued them all together for added dimension before adhering it to my white circle panel.

I've also die cut the Angel Corner from the same Gold Metallic paper.
I adhered it to a panel of white card stock then did a bit of fussy cutting so the musical paper would show through.

Another peek at the finished card creation.

Please be sure to pop over to the Tutti Designs Store
and check out all of the fabulous dies available.

Dies R Us Inspiration - Here's the Scoop!

Hello All!
Today I'm filling in for DT member Felicita over on the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog.

This time of year, you're never sure if you'll want Hot Chocolate or Ice Cream!  As for me, I could eat ice cream ANY TIME of the year!  LOL  So today's creative share is all about the SCOOP!

It only took one fabulously fun die set to create the FOCUS of this card!  And that die set is Sue Wilson's Necessities - Here's The Scoop.  I have noticed lately that in many of the Sue Wilson die sets the packing card opens up to share samples with you ... what fun!  We can always use extra inspiration!

Sue Wilson Designs - Necessities Collection - Here's The Scoop

Remember, Dies R Us now carries other crafting products like Designer Papers, Stickles, Nuvo drops, Glue and much, much more ... be sure to pop over to the Store and scope it out for yourself!  Speaking of designer paper, I've actually used a sheet from the Your Next Stamp 'Crazy for Coffee' 6x6 pad for my card.

Your Next Stamp Paper Pad - 6

Who doesn't enjoy a TRIPLE SCOOP of ice cream ... here's how I made mine!
(Vanilla, Strawberry & Chocolate!)

I spotted a left over scrap of designer paper from last weeks card laying on the table and thought SPRINKLES!!

So I added sprinkles to my top scoop ...
THEN I added MORE!
Everyone likes EXTRA SPRINKLES!!!

To help make the sentiment POP, I used the same 'FLAVORS' and die cut circles using the Tutti Designs Dotted Nesting Circles.

Tutti Designs - Dotted Nesting Circles
So there ya have it!
That's the SCOOP on how this card came together!

I hope you've enjoyed what I've shared today!

Don't forget to come join in the fun at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  There's a new challenge theme offered on the 1st and 15th of each month and one lucky randomly drawn winner will receive a gift voucher prize to the Dies R Us Store.  For your convenience, all the important Dies R Us links are provided below.

A Blue Christmas ...

Hello everyone!
Today,  I have another holiday card to share with you using two more dies from the latest release at the Cheapo Dies Store.  Have you checked out these dies yet?  They are reasonable prices and a nice selection of themes to choose from.  And if you need inspiration ... you'll find a new card posted over on their BLOG daily.

The dies I've used on today's creation are:

Reindeer Scene

I've used navy blue card stock for the background.  After embossing it to create my 'snowfall', I've gone over the top portion lightly with a sponge dauber and white dye ink.

I've die cut the deer scene twice and glued them together for added dimension.

After putting it all together, I added red Stickles for the berries on the Holly Branch and Diamond Stickles on the reindeer's swirly antlers for added sparkle.  Looks so pretty in real life!

Happy Fall Ya'll

Morning All!
Today is officially the First Day of Autumn.
And the temperatures this morning here in Ohio sure feel like fall has arrived.  It was 89 degrees yesterday and last night it dropped to 57 degrees.  Nice cool sleeping weather ... you can be sure I had my window open all night!  lol

I don't have any DT creations to share with you today but I do have a few cards laying around that I hadn't shared here on my blog yet.  Want to see a few??

A short while back I created these focus images for cards using products from the  Stamp On It company.  The products I'm referring to are:

I've used various Tutti Designs Square Die cuts for my matting and Tim Holtz Oxide & Distress inks for my background panels.

I wish you could see the sparkle in the background of these images.  SO pretty in real life!

Well I have a very busy week ahead of me so I'd better get a little crafting done while I have a minute.  I hope you have a FABULOUS weekend.  We are headed to Michigan tomorrow for a couple of days to visit friends from our old neighborhood.  I can't wait to see them ... such wonderful people!!
