Dear Me ... what am I saying??
We are actually supposed to see our first snow fall today
so I guess this card is appropriate! LOL
Hello Everyone and thanks for stopping by today!
My BFF Diane (Nellie's Nest) recently lost her Mom and is having a difficult time 'getting her crafting mojo back' so I challenged her to join in a challenge with me and have fun seeing what each other make using the same theme.
The challenge she chose is the Tuesday Throwdown and the theme is a
Recipe ... 1 Image, 2 embossing folders & a word sentiment.
Here's what I came up with . . .
The image I used is actually one of the cards I received in the mail from a company we send contributions to. Here are the other two cards from the set. As you might be able to tell, I have already cut into the Santa card to use to create another fun holiday card. The little circle was cut from the back of the card and will go on the inside of the card
just as I will do with this card back.
Here are the two embossing folders I've used . . .
I've used the Sizzix snowfall embossing folder directly over the image and used the Cuttlebug snowflake folder for my background. I light sponged over the embossing so it would show up better.
And my sentiment is one of the dies in the Hunkydory 'A Holly Jolly Christmas' set.
What a fun challenge to play and was actually pretty quick & easy!
Thanks Diane for joining me for a fun time ...
You'll want to be sure and pop over to Diane's Blog to see what she came up with! It's sure to be totally different from mine! What fun!
As always . . .
Great idea recycling the cards and that snowman looks great with the embssed snowfall!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute and fabulous idea for the 'recycle' and to emboss over it, really changes it!! Thanks for lighting a fire under my (well you know what I mean lol)...let's just hope it works!! I actually found another challenge that 'just might' motivate me!!
ReplyDeleteOh, my gosh, you totally made this your own! I save all this stuff, too. I love the snowman with the snowfall embossing over him and then the snowflakes in the background. What a fun challenge! You're a good friend to Diane.
ReplyDeletethat is so cute, I love how you recycle your goodies you get in the mail, I do love the embossing over that image, pretty layering of the embossing!
ReplyDeleteWow! This is a super fantastic design and I love the great coloring. So very cute and well done.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to recycle cards. I have a pile of cards sent to me by charitable organizations. This is a great way to put them to use instead of having them just sit in my crafty closet somewhere. Thanks for the great inspiration!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Lena
