A Cold Winter's Night

Hello friends ...
Believe it or not, I'm still trying to recoup from our wonderful holiday party this past Sunday evening (sharing photos and post soon).  I have most of the party dishes, etc packed away until next  year so now it's time to get back on track with my  holiday shopping and MUST get my holiday cards in the mail ... SO BEHIND this year (must be slowing down in my old age!  LOL)

Anyways, here is a card I wanted to share that I created a few weeks back using another beautiful image from the PowerPoppy store.  I got in on their Cyber Monday sale and purchased  the entire Holiday Digital Blitz Bundle ... it's amazing!!  I love how this came together ... hope you like it too!

After coloring my printed image, I die cut it using the Memory Box 'Wrapped Stitch Frames' die set purchased at the Dies R Us store ... love this frame set.  (In fact, I love it so much I accidentally ordered it twice and ended up selling the extra one to a local crafting friend.)  Silly me!! lol

Once colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and die cut, I 'flipped' the frame over (top & bottom, not front & back) before adhering it around my image.    This gave me the extra blue at the bottom and the white frame at the top ...  it was actually a fluke but I liked how it looked so went with it!  (Don't you love when those little mishaps turn out so cool!!  lol)
The frame was also popped up using dimensional tape from Lowe's (yep Lowe's).

My added snowflakes come from the Hunkydory Moonstone Dies - Let It  Snow die set.

I hope you're having as much fun creating holiday cards as I am!

  2. This is a beautiful card. I love the image of the church. It makes me think of singing Christmas hymns and being all warm inside. Love that snowflake. I, too, have unfortunately purchased 2 of something. [Bunny]

  6. I love that you flipped that pretty frame, Dar. How serendipitous that it compliments the scene so well, flipped that way. Yes, I love when that happens, too. Beautiful scene. Wonderful images. Awesome colouring. There is a wonderful, old-fashioned air about this card which I love. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

  8. Wow, flipping the frame is so subtle that it took me a few minutes to twig what you had done and I love your mishap result. Love the image too. Hugs Mrs A.
