Hello Dear Friends!
It's time once again for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!
I'm hosting today and as you can see by my blog title ... the theme is:
Pearls, Gems or Rhinestones
Here's the mood board I've created . . .
Be inspired by the images but remember to add some
sort of pearls, gems or rhinestones also.
Here's what I've created:
I was inspired by the flowers & the pearls in the lower right corner of the board.
I started with a pink background which was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I've used Nuvo Gloss White Crystal Drops to create the pearls on each center of the embossed design.
I had a new floral die from the Dies R Us Store called 'Cattleya Orchid' by Scrap Man so that is what I decided to use for my floral accent.
The leaves I have used are by Elizabeth Craft called Leafy Branch 4.
And, my sentiment is by Creative Expressions by Sue Wilson
My framework was created using the Spellbinder 'Venise Lace - Hem Stitch Rectangles' die set. I then popped it up using narrow strips of 3M dimensional tape. After die cutting the sentiment panels, I also place a narrow strip of dimensional tape behind them so they would stand up and the lower portion of the letters would lay upon the frame.
Spectrum Noir alcohol markers were used in the coloring of my flowers.
REMEMBER: We have a fun prize to give away to one lucky player,
which will be chosen by Random.org
ALL are welcome to enter ... we will ship internationally!
So be sure to pop over to the Double D Challenge Blog to see all the details and amazing samples offered up by our VERY TALENTED design team ladies!!

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely card you have created my friend! I love all the little extras you used to embellish! Well done!
ReplyDeleteGoodness, Darlene, those orchids are amazing! So realistic! Love your embossed and framed background and just the right amount of Nuvo pearl bling. I've been MIA, too, as we've been far out in the boonies, but we finally stopped at a place in Utah that has GOOD WiFi. Leaving here tomorrow for the long trip home, sniff sniff. I can't possibly catch up, so I scrolled through... OMG, love what you've been up to. I think it's time to revisit my stamp room. Sending a hug for you to keep in your pocket for when you need it most.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Darlene. I admire that you were able to use Nuvo drops on the embossed panel. Every time I try something like that I make a mess. Last time I did a panel perfectly I accidently drooped it face down. lol Pretty colors and flowers.
ReplyDeleteDar, that cattleya flower die is AMAZING and it looks so delicate the way you have arranged both flowers on that gorgeously embossed background! Beautifully done. Keeping your family in my prayers, Darlene. xx
