Perfectly CAS Challenge #30

Hello Friends!

Today starts a new challenge over on the Perfectly CAS Challenge Blog.
Here's our theme for the month of August . . .

Earlier in the Spring, I ordered a few new 3D embossing folders.  They are by Lisa Horton Crafts and this one is called 'Alstroemeria'.  They are 6x6 in size and keeping with out 1/3 CAS theme, I have cut my scrap of purple card stock to the size needed and carefully placed it into the folder to pick up the embossed image I wanted to showcase.

These folders are so deeply embossed that the first piece of card stock I chose was actually too thick.  I tried every combination but it still wouldn't go through my machine without running the risk of breaking something.  Once I chose a panel of card stock that was a little thinner it ran through beautifully.

As lighting and my camera were both giving me trouble today ... here's another photo showing a truer shade of purple on this card.

While I was playing around with the different weight of papers I wanted to use, I ran this blue panel through my machine and of course, we crafters try not to 'waste' anything so I turned it into another card.  What do you think?

Since this was a 'test' case for card stock weight, I didn't pay much attention as to exactly where my paper was placed in conjunction with the image on the folder ... but it still made for a pretty card!

I hope you will join in the challenge - just make sure you understand the rules.
For all the rules check out the 'How To Play' TAB under our challenge header.

The challenge is all about helping you stay
within 1/3 of your card to make sure it is CAS.

I look forward to seeing what you create.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
As always . . .

  3. You're such great inspiration. I have this embossing folder - had to have it coz it's gorgeous. Then I got it and wasn't too sure how to use it because the 3D effect is gorgeous. As you know I'm no good with CAS cards, but seeing your card ... well let's just say that I will be using that folder soon :-) You're so talented and the Queen of CAS! :-)
    Big hugs,
