Wood Block Wednesday Challenge

 
Hello Friends

Amy Tsuruta has her Woodblock Wednesday challenge up and running and I've been trying to join in each month as it gives me the opportunity to play with all my old wooden block stamps which don't get the love they deserve since clear stamps came about.

 

Here's what I've created . . .

 The wood block stamp I've used today is an old Northwood stamp, circa 2006 and I've used Stampin' Up 'Garden Green' ink for the stamping.  I've added these cute Poppy Stamps deer fawns and a sentiment  stamp from my 'Doni Collection'.

Can You Handle the Pressure - Twist - Winter Blues

  Hello Friends, thanks for stopping by today!

We have a new challenge starting today over on our new Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge Blog and the TWIST theme is ...

Winter Blues

Remember, the twist is optional but you MUST use an embossing folder on your projects to qualify for the prize.  Heat embossing is also permitted but only in conjunction with an embossing folder.

 Here's what I've created to inspire you today.  

The embossing folder used today is the Spellbinders 'Notched Corner Poinsettia' (E3D-070).  After embossing a panel of white card stock, I used the 'direct ink to paper' technique and swished over the embossing using Brillance 'Ice Blue' ink and then Delicata 'Golden Glitz'.

 

 

 

The image was printed from Pinterest and then framed using the largest die in the Paper Rose 'Stitched Rectangle Frames' die set (#16679).  The stamped sentiment is from an old Verve stamp set.

In person, the 3D embossing on this card really stands out with it being inked!
It's a shame the photos never seem to capture the full beauty of our creations.

Peace on Earth Challenge #102

SO happy you stopped by!

Today I have a card to share for the new challenge over on the PEACE ON EARTH CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE BLOG.  Of course the theme is Anything Christmas and we hope you'll come join in the fun! 

Here's a fun inspiration board we've created to help get you started ...

 

 Can you tell which one of the mood board images inspired me??

Yep ... bottom left ... I LOVE a bit glob of whipped cream in my hot chocolate!  LOL
Plus, I had the perfect Tim Holtz stencil to use on my cocoa mug!

 I've used the Elizabeth Craft 'Hot Chocolate' (#1570 - retired) die set for today's focus image.  The Tim Holtz 'Holiday Knit' (#THS028) stencil was used on the cocoa mug and Nuvo White Crystal Drops were used on the whipped creme for texture.

SNOWFLAKES

 Hello Friends ...

All ready for Christmas?
No?  Me either ... still waiting for a few toys to show up on my doorstep ... sure hope they make it on time or Charlie's going to be very disappointed in us!  LOL

I haven't shared many cards this week so I thought I'd take a little time this morning and create something.  Not that I shouldn't be doing 'other things' but hey!  it will all get done one way or another ... right!!??  LOL

Here's what I've come up with . . .

 A very Clean & Simple card but I think it's so pretty with all the white & snowflakes.  Would rather see the 'white stuff' on a card front vs out my kitchen window!  LOL   

I decided on a gate fold card for 'something different'.  I've used an OLD Memory Box snowflake border die to adorn both sides and an OLD Darice snowflake for the center front.   Along the edge I used a gold Pilot Marker to bring dimension and did the same thing to frame my inside sentiment.

Double D - Santa and/or Snowman

 Hello Dear Friends!

It's time once again for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!

 

Here's today's theme:

 

SANTA and/or SNOWMAN

 

 and here's an inspiration board created to help get you started . . .

 

 

 As much as I LOVE Santa images, I just couldn't wait to play with my Stamp On It 'Vintage Hues' (images) and Glitter Film.  The only Santa or Snowman sheet I had was of snowmen so a snowman it is!!

 

 

 The only Santa or Snowman sheet I had was of snowmen so a snowman it is!! Here is the sheet I used but be sure to check them out ... they have some amazing images & with the glitter film over top, really makes for an amazing look.

 

 

 

Here's a link to the Glitter Film I used over top.  I used the clear panel.

 

 

My background snowflake designer paper came from Hobby Lobby.  I used a couple scrap strips of red card stock to bring attention to his red scarf.   

The sentiment is an old DRS Designs (I don't think they are in business any longer.)
Diamond Stickles was used around the sentiment flag as well as to create the icicles on the red panels (looks gold in the photo).
