A Peaceful Day on the Lake

 Hello friends!

I wanted to quickly make something to share on my blog today so once again, I hopped over to the Paper Playful site and found a couple challenges that grabbed my interest.

First is the Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge #470 (winner picks 9/2) and here's their sketch which I flipped to create my card :

and also the theme over on the Shopping Our Stash Challenge SOS555 (ends 9/8) which is 'On or In the Water' caught my attention so I grabbed my Stampscape stamps and created this waterfront scene.

My background papers came from the Paper Rose paper pack called 'Wild Poppies'

and I used both Tombow markers and Tim Holtz distress oxide inks for the coloring.

A few other challenges to play in:

Dream Valley Challenges #343 - 2 or more papers (9/8)
Cardz 4 Guys Challenge #377 - Boats (9/16)
Allsorts Challenge #830 - Something beginning with B (birds, boat, birthday, blue water) (8/30)

I hope you like what I've created to share with you today! Thanks for stopping by!!

Wood Block Wednesday Challenge

 Hello Friends

Amy Tsuruta has her Woodblock Wednesday challenge up and running and I've been trying to join in each month as it gives me the opportunity to play with all my old wooden block stamps which don't get the love they deserve since clear stamps came about.

The wood block stamps I've used today are (old) SU 'Posy' background stamp and another oldie but goodie Hero Arts 'Thanks Phrase' stamp (circa 2007).

I've used Tutti Designs 'Scallop Stitched Rectangle' dies to mat my sentiment stamp and Hot Pink Nuvo Crystals drops for an accent.  Tombow markers were used for the coloring.

Why not pop over and check out her blog and play along ... you know you have wood block stamps that need some love just like I do!  LOL

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day ahead!!

Thank God for Family!!

Happy Monday All!!

As many of you know, I come from a large family and each year for many, many years now, we've been having not the usual 1 day family reunion, but a THREE DAY reunion weekend in August.  That reunion was this past weekend and once again it was FABULOUS!

MORGAN FAMILY REUNION 2025

Friday night is Soup & Hot Dogs around the fire night.

Saturday Morning we have breakfast at our local (in PA) meeting spot where we link up the 1st Friday of each month for Cousins Breakfast (where we usually have anywhere from 12 to 30 people ... who ever can come).  And then that evening we have Steak & Chicken dinner catered by the same restaurant people out at the farm before Cousin Brett starts his musical show & fun shenanigans.

On Sunday, it's an ALL family gathering where everyone brings a cover dish and we eat at 1:00.   After eating the fun begins with announcing the 50/50 drawing winner ($280 in the pot this year) and start drawing tickets to see who wins the Chinese Auction baskets (all donated by family members).  We had 23 baskets donated for the adults and 17 for the kids.

Unfortunately I didn't get a photo of the food tables but I did get a picture of the cake that cousin Matthew has been having made for us over the past couple of years ... it is SO SO GOOD and BEAUTIFUL!!

It reads:

Our family tree grows wide and strong,
with roots of love that last life long.
Through many branches both near and far,
we carry memories that make us who we are!

It's definitely a team effort to put this reunion on every year and I only hope we are able to keep it going for years to come.  Sadly there is only 1 of the 12 original 'Morgan kids' still with us and she lives in Texas and was unable to come.

Ok ... now to get some house work done so I can get back into my crafting cave!

Hope you enjoyed a look at my family reunion ... I am truly blessed with a wonderful & loving family!

Until next time ...

Can You Handle the Pressure - Twist - Balloons

Hello Friends, thanks for stopping by today!

We have a new challenge starting today over on our new Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge Blog and the TWIST theme is ...

Balloons

Remember, the twist is optional but you MUST use an embossing folder on our projects to qualify for the prize.  Heat embossing is also permitted but only in conjunction with an embossing folder.

Here's what I've created to inspire you today.

Using the fun embossing folder and stencil set called 'Celebration Balloons' by Lisa Horton, this card was fun to create and came together quickly.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks for my coloring.

The only addition to my balloons was my sentiment which I used the Pink Fresh 'Perfect Sentiments' stamp and die set.  Awhile back I stamped & die cut this set in a variety of colors so they were ready when I was and today was one of those days.  I used the same sentiment in three different colors to coordinate with my balloons.

I do hope you'll come check out our challenge blog and play along.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,
I appreciate it more than you'll ever know!!
