Perfectly CAS Challenge #28

 

Hello Friends!

Today starts a new challenge over on the Perfectly CAS Challenge Blog.
Here's our theme for the month of June . . .

 

 

For today's 1/4 card, I've used this OLD but fun ProvoCraft Cuttlebug floral embossing folder then did a little decorative straight line embossing.  I've colored the flowers on this embossed image by using finger daubers and TH oxide distress inks.

The flower centers were created with black Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Can You Handle The Pressure - Birds

 Hello Friends, thanks for stopping by today!

We have a new challenge starting today over on our new Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge Blog and the TWIST theme is 'BIRDS'.  Remember, the twist is optional but you MUST use an embossing folder on our projects to qualify for the prize.  Heat embossing is also permitted but only in conjunction with an embossing folder.

 Here's what I've created to inspire you today.  

 

 

 

 OMG ... this smaller embossing folder was one of the several I bought when I first started making cards.  I was using a Cuttlebug at that point in time ... my daughter had bought it for me for my birthday ... of course, I graduated to a Vagabond (second one ... broke the first) since those days.  Old shoulders don't like all that cranking any more either!  lol

 

Anyways, while going through all my embossing folders I spotted this cute bird folder and just knew I needed to make him the focus of today's card.  I've used a panel from Altenew 'Enchanting Washes' paper pack for my background.  The 'darker' strip panel is actually the reverse side of this 6x6 panel.  This is the portion I cut off for my A6 card so I decided to use it as an accent panel behind my bird.  

My sentiment was Heat Embossed using black ink and Detail Clear embossing powder.

The Sisterhood of Crafters - Create a Seasonal Landscape

  

 Hello my friends!

Today I have a card for the new challenge over on The Sisterhood of Crafters!

Our theme, chosen by Sistah Debbie is:

 

Create a SEASONAL Landscape

I truly enjoy creating a 'scenery' card so I was thrilled when Debbie came up with this theme for today's challenge.  This card was actually created & sent to my granddaughter back in Feb/March when she was going through treatment for ovarian cancer.  Any words of encouragement are helpful during a journey like this and it helped me feel like I was doing something for her too.

Anyways ... I've used some of my many Stampscapes to create this scene.  If you're not familiar with Stampscapes, be sure to check 'em out HERE.  And watch some of his beginners videos.  Then let your own imagination take you on an adventure to who knows where!

Inspiration Station Challenge

 One of my all time favorite movies!  This image to me depicts what life should be about ... simple acceptance & love.  Today I turned to a die from Frantic Stamper 'Fishing Card Panel' (FRA9883) for the focus of my card.

 I simply added a designer paper panel behind, did score lines around the outside edges and added a sentiment.  VIOLA
