Sisterhood - Tag You're It

Hello Everyone!
It's time for a new challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters!
Diane H. is our hostess and our theme this time around is

TAG YOU'RE IT!
(make a tag or a project using a tag)

I must admit, I don't make a lot of tags.  Guess that means I don't give enough gifts ... otherwise I'd need tags to put on them!  LOL!  Will have to give that some thought ... might need to start doing more gift giving just so I can make some of the beautiful tag ideas my 'sistahs' have shared today!

Several 'old' & 'new' elements went into this tag!
The actual tag was created from a sample piece I had embossed using one of my new Spellbinder M-bossabilities embossing folders (ornamental iron).  A really old Martha Stewart border punch was used for the bottom and the floral panels is actually Around the Block 'Floral Frame Tape' that I had totally forgotten I even had.  I used Memento 'bamboo leaves' to sponge on the color of the bottom panel and Spectrum Noir markers to color in the delicate floral tape on the top of my tag.
The flower, bird and scroll were all pieces I had laying on my work table from other projects and thought would work perfectly for today's tag.

I just LOVE the Crafty Secrets Digital Birds & Blossoms 4-Page download!  So many fabulous images that can be printed and used for a variety of themes!  This particular image is actually a journaling tag ... you just can see the journaling  lines because they are covered by my bird & ribbon. Speaking of ribbon ... this is some of the new ribbon I purchased through Really Reasonable Ribbon (thanks Kathy) and just LOVE it!  I've been wanting some of the seam binding I see on everyone's beautiful creations and now I have some!  Yippee!

Well, I'd better get busy!  I've kind of fallen behind on my crafting duties since I was out in Michigan/Indiana 'playing' with Midwest crafting friends and then being Nanna during granddaughter Morgan's hip surgery.  UPDATE:  Morgan is home (with her parents) and doing well.  She has her followup doctor appointment next Monday then hopefully she'll be able to function by herself at her own home.  Thanks everyone for your prayers and support!  She still has a long recovery road ahead ... but I'm sure God is watching over her!

Have a great day everyone!

  7. Wow! Gorgeous tag! I'm like you, I don't make many tags. And, when I do try to make one, I'm like...ok...how should I do this...hehehe! But, your tag is so pretty with all the details. Love the image with sweet girl, lovely bird, border, and ribbon!

  8. Gorgeous tag Darlene...you should do them more often. I love the colors you chose for this and the vintage images are awesome! I love the colors of the Hug Snug Seam Binding...just ordered 4 rolls yesterday. Usually I use only white so I can dye it to match my projects but the colors were so outstanding I had to have some of them this time in addition to the white. Excellent news about your grand daughter and hope her health continues to improve! It will be a long way back but she can do it!
Thank you for sharing this project...you are such great inspiration! Hugs ♥
