Double D - Red & White

Happy Hump Day Everyone!

I'm excited to say it's time for another fun challenge

Today's theme is RED & WHITE
and here's a peek at the mood board you can use for inspiration.

OMG the possibilities are ENDLESS with this theme ... what fun!
I don't do a lot with these colors
(not really a 'red' color wearing person since I am a redhead)
but it was certainly fun to go through andfind paper, ribbon etc that would create a fun card.

Here's what I came up with:
First I grabbed this fabulous polka dot paper which was actually purchased
to use in conjunction with a Minnie Mouse project I did last year
for a friend of mine ...
Then I needed a focus image ... so I jumped online
and found this image of some gorgeous red/white tulips
(SO PRETTY aren't they?  Wish I had some of those in my garden!)

Next I went through my selection of ribbon and found this pretty
Stampin' Up striped ribbon as well as this sheer polka dot ribbon
that I think worked perfectly.

For my design I felt I needed something overlaid on
my background paper because it was pretty bold so went with this
Cheery Lynn Designs 'chicken wire frame' panel.
The beautiful Memory Box 'Beloved Butterflies' were laying
on my work table and thought they'd work well with my floral image.
I popped them up with a small yet thick Recollections pop up
then added a red sequin (which was also laying on the table ... I really need to do some clean up)
to the center.  Love the 'movement' it gives my card.

OH and the white heart in the center of my ribbon was yet another left over that was laying
on the table.  I just can't through anything away! LOL
Was even thinking of reinserting some of the pieces that popped out of the chicken wire frame!
WOW!  I'm beginning to think I need therapy!  LOL

  6. There's so much to love here -- polka dots, chicken wire, cute bow and butterflies die, and those gorgeous tulips! I love red and do wear it, but only certain shades. Rich, pure reds, not orangey reds. Got a little redhead underlying in me, too. Thanks for an awesome challenge, Darlene!
