Good Afternoon!
Sorry for the title ... was just watching a PBS show about the 60's Beatles!
Oh yes ... I was one of those sqealing young girls going crazy over
John , Paul, George and Ringo!
{sigh} where has the time gone???
Anyways ... I have a card to share with you this afternoon that was created with many challenges in mind and I'm sure it fits even more, since it's red/pink/white ... filled with flourishes/sparkle, and based on LOVE!
The February Inspiration Challenge at Paper Sweeties is based on this photo:
The soft taupe design paper that I used as my background base is from the KaiserCraft 'Sweet Nothings' paper pack. I got creative and made myself a heart stencil using the Spellbinder Classic heart dies for which I used to sponge the hearts in the background using Memento 'angel pink' ink. I also inked up this Paper Inspirations #G10277 'Brushed Rose' stamp using TH 'berries' distress ink and Memento 'bamboo leaves' ink for the corner floral embellishment. By simply doing a little fussy cutting around the rose, I was able to tuck my precious Crafty Secrets image in behind it just a little bit.
Isn't this vintage image just adorable?
She comes as a part of the Crafty Secrets 'Love Mail' Creative Scraps which is available now at the reduced price of $1.95! WOW!
So many beautiful panels on this double sided scrap sheet ... you'll want to be sure to pop over to the Crafty Vintage Girl shop and purchase one for yourself!
The new challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs is to add a FLOURISH.
The
flourishes I chose to use are the Cheery Lynn Designs #B291 'Mini
Fanciful Flourish Reverse' as well as the #B315 'Ivy Corner Flourish'.
A few other CLD dies used on this creation are:
DL128 - Two of Hearts and B227 - Love
It's amazing how many 'little details' can go into a card that you don't really see unless you REALLY look beyond that 'first glance'! For example ... as I mentioned earlier ... making my own stencil for the soft heart background. The faux stitching ... distressed/curled edges ... fussy cutting around rose ... Stickle sparkle on the leaves as well as Stickle 'dot' embellishments.
I think that's why I am in AWE of so many of the amazing vintage creations I see in blogland. There are so many fine details you ladies take the time to put into your creations that really shouldn't be overlooked and I for one will be paying closer attention to in the future!!
A few more challenges my card qualifies for are:
Shabby Tea Room #204 - All That Glitters in Love
That Craft Place Challenge - Valentine / Love
The Corrosive Challenge - Feel the Love
Bearly Mine Challenge - Vintage Romance
Cuttin and Stampin - Sweethearts
Bearly Mine Challenge - Vintage Romance
