Hello Friends!
Here we are in the middle of April and that means it's time for another fun challenge over on the Dies R Us Challenge Blog. Our theme today is:
SPRING FLOWERS
It won't be long before I will be outside planting and mowing!
YAY! Can't wait ... I love Spring ... when all the flowers & trees awake from their winter sleep.
The dies I've used today are:
I originally had the planter box cut from white card stock (as you can see
by the sides of the planter box that are peeking out)
but the embossed panels didn't come out very well and didn't realize
it until I had it put together ... so I quickly die cut another panel, snipped
off the tabs and glued it over top of the white one.
You can't really see it in the photo but the embossing came out better on
the darker panel but of course then I covered it up with my sentiment
die so I guess I should have just left it alone LOL.
I've used an old Darice brick wall embossing folder to create the
'wall' of my house then sponged over it with some Tim Holtz Walnut Stain ink.
Don't forget to check out sister store in Canada . . .
Dies R Us now has a sister store with warehouses in USA & Canada called Didi Crafts.
It will ship to both the US and Canada. Didi Crafts will carry some of the same products as DRU, but most will be different. Now our Canadian friends don't have to worry about huge taxes or shipping fees. How great is that!?!

ReplyDeleteI really like how this turned out Darlene. The scene is beautiful. It makes me long for spring, since we have a fresh 6 inches of snow on the ground. It arrived as an Easter gift. How nice! The brick wall background is the perfect backdrop for the windowbox.

ReplyDeleteOMGoodness, you are all about the cheerful, pretty, springy cards lately! I love this so much! I want this outside my kitchen window. Such a pretty window die and I love how you sponged yellow inside for the glow. It's a delight!
ReplyDeleteWay to use all those dies! What great dimension you've achieved. Really awesome card!
ReplyDeleteDarlene this is gorgeous! I love your pretty window with that window box overflowing with flowers! I miss my window boxes! The colors are gorgeous and I love how many dies that you used to make this!
ReplyDeleteDarlene, my friend, your card makes me want to go out and get window boxes for all my windows :-) Unfortunately here in Pearland, most flowers would die from the heat. My husband is Dutch and it's one of the things I love the most when visiting Holland - all the gorgeous window boxes. Thanks for the beautiful inspiration and the wonderful memories :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day, and stay safe and healthy.
