Hearts come Home for Christmas!

Hello Friends!
Today I've created a card for the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog.
I'm working on a few holiday cards so I thought I'd share one with you today!  I recently ordered some of the fabulous dies offered in the latest holiday releases by Memory Box and Poppy Stamps over at our Dies R Us Store and couldn't wait to get them die cut to see what I could come up with.  Hope you like it!!

The dies I've used are:
Memory Box 'Evergreen Trio'  (MBD-99240) currently Out of Stock
Poppystamps 'Country Houses'  (POPPY1252)  currently Out of Stock

These fabulous holiday dies are going IN and OUT of Stock so quickly, if you want it and see it is in stock I advise you to get it on order right away!

To create the sky, I simply adhered a scrap piece of blue card stock to the upper portion of my Everygreen Frame.  I've added dimensional tape to the Evergreen Trio and placed in the center of my two frame trees and again used dimensionals on my Country Houses (see dimension achieved in photo above).   Both sentiment stamps are from 'older' Stampin' Up sets.

WOW!  My team mates have been sharing some AMAZING inspiration for you each and every day of the work week and in so many different themes/styles.  Please stop back often and be sure to scroll back to see what you may have missed.  We each have our own unique 'style' and I'm sure you'll find something that catches your eye!

Let's have some tea . . .

Hello my friends and welcome to Monday!
How was your weekend?  Mine was quite busy but very productive I'm happy to say!!

While strolling through Pinterest recently, I came upon the most adorable vintage tea pot images and just couldn't wait to create a card using one (or all) of them.  Today's the day since Joan at Joan's Touch has started up her challenges again and today's requirements are:

  • Do a vintage theme
  • Distress the edges
  • Add several layers

  • I'm just thrilled with how quickly this card came together for me this morning since I have another very busy day ahead of me!
With the Fall feeling in the air, it certainly has a way of putting you into a 'holiday' frame of mind so I went with a holiday theme for my Christmas red tea pot image.  And as luck would have it, I had several little things laying around from previous projects that fit right in to this card.  I.E. the paper doily which was cut in half as well as the corner die cut that didn't work the way I wanted it to on a previous card.

Here are a few additional challenges I'd like to share in today:
613 Avenue Challenge - Anything Goes
Crafting When We Can Challenge - Christmas Come Early
Make My Monday Challenge - Tea and/or Cake

Thanks for stopping by today!  Gotta run!
    Have a great day!
    As always . . .

    Recipe:
    Papers:  White cs, BoBunny dp
    Image:  Pinterest
Stamps:  Marion Smith Designs 'Tea Party'
Accessories:  Wilton cake paper doily,  Graphic45 Twelve Days of Christmas Stickers, Tim Holtz 'Berry' distress ink, Wright lace, TH distresser, Poppy Stamps 'Katie Corner' die, pop dots, TH 'tea dye' distress ink

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells ... OMG am I singing Christmas Carols already???

    Good Afternoon Friends!

Would you believe they are calling for a couple of inches of snow here in NE Ohio tonight!  YIKES!  I'm not ready!  But, since I'm already working on Christmas Cards and humming Christmas Carols ...
Maybe I'm more ready than I thought!  LOL!

I had a request for a few sets of Christmas cards,
so I thought I'd share what I've been working on ...

      AND

I found both of these images over on Pinterest as free printables and I just love the 'vintage' Santa and think my customer will too.  Since I was able to fit 4 images on a page and printed 2 sheets ... that left me with 2 additional cards to create outside the 'sets'.

Here are the 2 'extra image' cards I created with my first Santa ...
(Click on any image to enlarge.)

And, here are the two from the 2nd Santa ...

Can you see the sparkle on Rudolph's nose, around the image matting and under the row Martha Stewart border punch row of trees/snowmen?

I have used my new Heartfelt Creations HCPC 3557 Christmas Poinsettia PreCut Set and Coordinating Sun Kissed Fleur Die for my flower.  The greenery was created using another new (to me) die from Cottage Cutz #506 Ivy.
A little extra touch of sparkle has been added to this card as well, using Red & Diamond Stickles.

A few challenges I'd like to enter into are:
Addicted to Stamps Challenge - Punches & Dies (stamps used for inside verses)
    Challenge 4 Everybody #33 - Anything Goes
    Hobby Cutz #24 - Winter Wonderland and/or Glitter-Sparkle
Scribble & Scrap - Anything Goes
2 Sisters Challenge - Christmas Sparkle
Crafty Calendar Challenge - All things Christmas (entry #2)
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes

Thanks so much everyone for stopping by today and I hope you're having a FABULOUS week!!
Stay warm (or cool depending where you are, lol) and as always ...

    It's a SASSY Christmas in July . . .

    Evening Everyone!

WOW!  What a day of clean up after yesterday's storms!  We weathered the storm fairly well here ... some down branches and destroyed some of my flowers, but my friend Gretchen in a neighboring town sure needed a helping hand today trying to bale out her basement.  The water was so high in her yard that it was pouring in under her side door and running down the steps into the basement.  What a mess!

Anyways ... I was going to post this card tomorrow but I have a very SPECIAL blog hop for you tomorrow (please stop back and check it out), so decided to share one more card with you this evening.

I just adore these SASSY images over at Sassy Studio Designs and it's time once again for their Dare To Be Sassy Thursday Challenge.  Today's theme is 'Christmas In July' and I've chosen Belle Pinup as my Sassy subject today!

I actually have been having fun making a few Christmas creations lately and it's always fun to color & create with these fabulous images.  I've kept it pretty simple (didn't have much time) and am very happy with the outcome!
Here are a few other challenges I'd like to enter into:

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I always love hearing your comments!  Don't be shy!!  LOL!!  Before I go I would ask one favor of you . . .
My 21 year old granddaughter, Morgan is having hip surgery for the 3rd time early tomorrow (Friday) morning at Cleveland Clinic.  Please keep her in your prayers for a successful surgery and a rapid recovery.   Hopefully this will be the last time she'll have to go through this until she's very old & gray!!

Thanks again and as always . . .

    Crafty Secrets Christmas Creations

Hello my friends and thank you so much for stopping by my blog today!

I've had these two Christmas cards sitting on my table and had forgotten to share them with you.  They are both made using Crafty Secrets images/papers.  Please be sure to pop over to Crafty Secrets to see all of the AMAZING products.  If you are a vintage lover like myself, THIS is the place to be!

Here I have not only created a multi layered card using both parts of the image & journalling note from the Christmas Booklet but have also used the same Crafty Secrets Vintage Christmas collage paper that I used for the background on my card and printed it onto regular printer paper to use as wrapping paper for my package.

This vintage Santa image is one of my all time favorites among all the fabulous Crafty Secrets Vintage Christmas images.  Here I have simply printed a sheet of their Christmas plaid paper for the backing which was edged with a gold Pilot Marker.  A gold Wilton doily was also used to showcase this beautiful image.  A touch of ribbon and a cute little snowman charm and this card is ready for any lady or gentleman!

I've been having SO MUCH FUN creating with these amazing digital images and papers!  Please come check out all the fun & products Crafty Secrets/Heartwarming Vintage has to offer ... here are the links:

    A Vintage Christmas Challenge

While doing my DT commenting last evening, I stumbled upon a beautiful vintage challenge blog called Vintage Cafe Card Challenge and just had to take a peek at the absolutely gorgeous vintage creations!  Of course I immediately had to create something so I could also play along in their current challenge which is a sketch I believe, using this image . . .

    . . . isn't it gorgeous!

Here is what I created for their challenge and I can't wait to see more from these talented ladies!

My image is from Crafty Secrets, the design paper is The Paper Studio 'Old World Winter Pack' and my die cut pieces are Cheery Lynn Designs.    I've also stamped a Stamper's Anonymous Holly stamp using Momento 'Bamboo Leaves' ink in the corners on the design paper.  Lime green Stickles was used on the leaves for sparkle and dimension.

A few other challenges I'd like to enter are:
Christmas Card Challenge - Must be Christmas using die cuts
    Dream Valley Challenge - Christmas
    Great Impressions - Anything Goes
Joanna Sheen Challenge - With Love At Christmas

That's it for me today!  I really must get busy with baking & fudge making!  Our party is this coming Sunday and I can't be putting things off any longer!  I'll have to 'play' later ... now it's time to get busy!

    Creating a Scene

Happy start to another week blogging friends!
Do you have your shopping done?  Baking?  Wrapping? Decorations? Christmas Cards mailed?
Dear Oh Dear ... no wonder we need a Check List!!
So much to do ... so little time!

As most of you ... I still have some of the 'above' not checked off my list yet but did want to take a moment and create a card with one of my favorite styles/techniques in mind ... Creating A Scene!

The products I have used on this card are:
    Paper:  Black cs, White cs
Stamps:  Heartfelt Creations 'HCPC 3432 Magnificent Spruce Trees', Crafty Secrets 'SL46 Winter Wishes' (sentiment), AMuse 'Lots of Flakes', AMuse 'Santa Silhouette'
Inks:  Tim Holtz 'Broken China', 'Stormy Sky', 'Evergreen Bough', 'Iced Spruce', Brilliance 'Ice Blue', Versafine Black
Accessories: Eclipse Masking Medium, Jumbo Sponge Daubers, Various Stickles

I am always amazed at some of the GORGEOUS scenes I've seen created by other crafters out there in blogland and just keep thinking that if I practice, I might some day get as good as them.  SO ... that's exactly what I intend to do.  Keep practicing ... and the following challenges are helping me out!

    Blue Christmas . . .

    . . . without you!!
    Do you remember that song?

Today I have a blue Christmas card to share with you which was made for the challenge at Joan's Gardens.  This week Joan & Selma have asked us to create with these things in mind:

    Use something oval
    Use an embossing folder
Make a blue and white card
Add a ribbon (maybe a bow??)

I recently purchased this image from Joan and thought it would be perfect stamped in blue.  What do you think?  The ribbon really is the same color as my background paper but for some reason my camera doesn't like photographing blues & purples in their correct color hue!  I'm sure it's just a setting and maybe AFTER the holidays I'll have time to check into it.

    Recipe for this creation:
Papers: SU Brocade Blue cs, white cs
    Stamp:  Stampendous 'Cling Snowy Postcard'
Ink:  Tim Holtz Stormy Sky distress ink
Accessories:  Cheery Lynn Designs B117S Fanciful Flourish Sm., Cheery Lynn Designs B147 Holly Flourish, Cuttlebug border embossing folder, White Jelly Roll Pen for faux stitching, Offray Antique Blue Satin Ribbon, Icicle Stickles, Waterfall Stickles, Kaiser white pearls

This creation also fits the Cheery Lynn Designs challenge this week which is HAPPY HOLIDAYS.

And a few other challenges are:
Brown Sugar Challenge - You Have Me In Stitches
    Craftymess Challenge - Vintage Christmas
Delicious Doodles - Anything Christmas with Blue
Pause, Dream, Enjoy - Blue & White
Raise the Bar - Blues & Whites
The Stamp Man - In the bleak mid winter
Stampin' for the Weekend - Let It Snow

My decorating is all finished and since I received our first Christmas cards of the season, I guess I'd better get started on addressing ours and get them in the mailbox!  I hope you are enjoying your holiday preparations as much as we are!

Until next time and as always . . .

NOW ... I did take advantage of the fact that I could PRINT TWO of the same image and do a little 'fussy cutting' so that's exactly what I did! Can you see in the photo that I've popped Santa up?  Here's a close up ... maybe that will help!

     Oh yea, that's better!

    Recipe for this creation:
Papers:  Various SCRAPS from my Christmas dp stash, red cs, hunter green cs, white cs

Crafty Secrets DT challenge & Linky Party

WOW!  Is it Monday again already?
And since it's the 1st Monday of the month, that means it's time for a new Linky Party at Crafty Secrets.  What does that mean you ask!  Well ... not only does the Crafty Secrets Design Team share their projects by linking on the post on the Heartwarming Vintage blog, but it's open for anyone to link there also. All you have to do is create a project, card, layout, home deco project or anything you want using a Crafty Secrets product, post it on your blog (gallery, etc) and link up on the Heartwarming Vintage blogYou may be the $50.00 random.org winner, but everyone who plays will receive a $5.00 Gift Certificate they can use in our www.craftyvintagegirl.com

Over on the blog Sandy has been sharing all the amazing Christmas papers, image, stamps they have been putting together and I mean to tell you there are a TON of BEAUTIFUL things to create with!  I will share links at the end of this post where you can go to check them all out!

This first card was created using the Retro Christmas Images & Ephemera.

The main focus of this card was created using THREE images which were brought into Word to create this little scene.  First I entered the 'Retro Frame Window' into a Word document ... next I entered the 'Retro Tree' and placed it behind the window frame and lastly I entered the 'Retro Word Merry Christmas' file in the front as my sentiment.  (Remember, these are all digital files and so easy to manipulate and resize to create a scene such as this.) The background paper, candy cane & buttons are also from this Retro Christmas downloadable set.  I have done a little fussy cutting on the buttons and popped up the candy cane for added dimension.  White satin ribbon was added to the bottom of the card and White Liquid Applique was used on the snow for even more dimension.  I LOVE how this card came together ... really easy, but looks like it took a lot of time!

    Here's a close-up of the 'liquid applique snow' . . .

Would you like to see another?

The creation uses a combination of images from both the VINTAGE CHRISTMAS Images & Ephemera and the RETRO CHRISTMAS Images & Ephemera sets.

I've used the same background paper as the 1st card and the other files I have used on this card are:
    Retro Holly
    Retro Jewel Star
    Vintage Holly Music
    Vintage Snow Angel Boy
    Vintage Snow Angel Girl

First I brought the Holly Music file into a Word document then overlayed the Vintage Snow Angel Boy & Girl.  That created the FOCUS image for my card.  Next I printed out the Jewel Stars and Holly ... a little fussy cutting, placement on the background and VIOLA!   I did add White Liquid Applique to the trim on the angels coats and Crystal Effects to the Jewel Stars for added sparkle & dimension.
    Here's a close up of the detail . . .

Please be sure to pop over to my team mates blogs and check out the fabulous inspiration they have to share with you today!  And remember ... Our Linky Party will run all week.

    Vintage Peek-A-Boo Album

    Happy December 1st everyone!

Today I have a Vintage Christmas Peek-A-Boo Album to share with you so grab your favorite beverage and a comfy seat because I'll warn you now ... this is a long post ... but hopefully a very informative one that I hope you'll enjoy and draw inspiration from!

    Woman drinking cappuccino

I've been telling you about the awesome Christmas digital papers now available over at Crafty Secrets
and the album helped me showcase just a FEW of these beautiful papers!  Here's a peek at the finished album and I will try to step you through some of the steps I took along the way in making it.

Over the Thanksgiving weekend I was helping my granddaughter create a scrapbook and when we were all through, I noticed there were a few 12x12 cardboard backings in the trash from the packs of scrapbook page protectors she had used.  Of course instantly I thought of creating some sort of album utilizing these backings (can't waste good chipboard ya know).  So I set forth cutting as many pages as I could from those 12x12 boards and grabbed a couple others from my stash to get the desired amount needed.

I used a variety of openings and page edgings for each page of the album to give it depth & character.  I used squares, rectangles, scallop edge, zig-zag edge, half moon ... just anything that popped into my head!

As indicated in the photo, I cut my page pieces 7 1/2" x 5 1/2" and using a hole punch made 3 holes to accommodate the 1" book rings that would hold my album together.
Then the fun began.  I printed out several different sheets of this beautiful paper in the patterns that I thought would work with the vision I had in my head.  I also tried to keep in mind where my 'openings' were and how that would be viewed when put together.  Once I did one side, I flipped them over and did the other side with different papers still (so many different papers to choose from on this CD!).  I used Modge Podge as my adhesive and a craft knife to cut the openings once my design paper was adhered & dry.
Once I had each page covered with the desired paper, I started going through the various Crafty Secrets/Heartwarming Vintage stickers, booklets, printables & other ephemera I had available to embellish each page and here are a few of the ideas I came up with.

Everything on this album is from Crafty Secrets/Heartwarming Vintage Store with the exception of the die cut tree (on page 1 which is Spellbinders), the die cut reindeer (on page 3 which is also Spellbinders) and the various colors of Stickles I used for sparkle.
Now remember this is just ONE side of each album page ... would you like to see how each page came together?  There are SO MANY papers & images in these sets that I could have made many, many more pages!!  Here's a glimpse of each opened page of my album ... hope you like it!

Once I had all my pages as I wanted them, I inserted the book rings and tied gold & green organza ribbon as well as red & white satin ribbon to each ring.  Really gave it a finished, festive appeal.

This was SO MUCH fun to create and actually it's my very 1ST Peek-A Boo Album ... and I'm really proud of the outcome!  Of course, having these beautiful papers & embellishments available at Crafty Secrets made it easy for me!  Please be sure to pop over and check out ALL the amazing products available!
