The Sisterhood of Crafters

It's time for another challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters!
Today, I am your hostess and our challenge is most appropriate for this time of year!
Yep, I'm talking about EASTER/SPRING.

We are thrilled to have a sponsor this time around and it is QKR Stampede.  They have some really fun images, please be sure to pop over and check them out.  Of course you can always play along in the Sisterhood Challenge and have the chance of winning FIVE FREE digis from QKR.

I've created two cards for you today ... one for Easter and one for Spring!
NO you don't have to make one of each ... it is an "either/or" theme.
(I've been accused of being an 'overachiever' ... hmmm guess they might be right!  LOL).

First using the fun digi image from QKR called "Easter Message #24126", I've created an Easter card.  The jellybean paper is actually a free image from the internet which I printed, cut & adhered as my background.   I've used Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to color my image and a Fiskars swivel craft knife for the fussy cutting.  I created the wording on my sign in WORD.  The grassland border & picket fence are dies from Poppystamps.com

My second card is for the SPRING portion of our challenge.
My focus image is from the Crafty Secrets 'Victorian Easter Eggs1'  Digital Sheet which can be purhcased at the CraftVintageGirl.com store.
I've used my Creative Memories oval cutting system for my shape & matting.  Michaels red gingham ribbon and a few gems help to embellish this CAS creation.  The doily lace border and butterfly are by Martha Stewart.

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun!

Other Challenges:
Crafty Sentiments Designs - Easter
 Cuttin and Stampin - Easter
Cuttlebug Mania - Easter  (die cut fence & grass)
Scrap-Creations - Easter
ABC Challenges - Easter
The Cutie Pie Challenge - Easter
Kaboodle Doodles - Easter or Early Spring
Victorine Stamps - Easter

Can you believe Easter is THIS WEEKEND!  Yikes!
I'm thrilled to say that hubby & I are hosting this years 'Easter Feast'!  Guess I'd better get my menu figured out and shopping done before the rush!
Do you make a 'SPECIAL' dish for your Easter meal?  If you do, I'd love to hear about it.
Please leave me a comment and/or recipe!  That would be awesome!

Thanks so much for stopping by and as always . . .

Farm Animals . . .

Morning Everyone!
It appears I'm overrun with cute little farm animal images this week so I've created a couple of cards that I like to share with you today!

First is this cute image from Shelly's Images called "Spring Lamb"!  Right now and through the end of the month you can get this image FREE at Shelly's Images for her BONUS CHALLENGE and the only requirement is that you create a card using it and link back to the challenge.  PERFECT for the upcoming Easter cards I know you are all busy creating and it's FREE ... you can't beat that!

I've colored the flowers using my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and the sky was done with chalks.  A very CAS creation in order to really showcase this adorable image!  My only embellishment is this soft organza pink ribbon.

Challenges:
Craft Your Passion Challenge - Ribbons or Lace
The Crafty Bloggers Network - Spring or Pastel
Cutie Pie Challenge - Easter
Daisy Doodles - Easter
Digi Darla's Challenge - Easter/Spring

For my second creation I've used another cute image ... this time from QKR Stampede and it's called "Happy Ducklin #6807".  Although, it appears to be a bit sad to me ... hence the MISS YOU sentiment!  What do you think?

I actually created this card for the Monday Greeting Card Challenge over on The Outlawz Site.  This week, besides using a greeting, the challenge is to 'LAYER IT UP'.  I've used various layers on this creation and had a great time rummaging through my 'scrap box'.  Always a good way to use up those scraps!  Even the oval die cuts were scraps!

Challenges:
Card Mania #16 - Lots of Layers
Love to Create Challenge - Anything Goes
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
MYGRAPHICO Challenge - Anything Goes
Pause, Dream, Enjoy Challenge - Anything Goes

QKR Stampede Challenge

Hello Everyone!
Yep, another week has come to an end and that means it's time for me to put my QKR Stampede Guest Designer Hat on and share with you the card I made with another one of their cute images!

Today's challenge is COLD & FROSTY
and I chose their "Snowy Barn (digi#13810)" for my creation.

This is such a cute image and reminds me of my growing up years when we had to go out to the barn and feel the cows/horses in the winter time!  And trudging through the all that snow to just get to the barn!  LOL!  Ahhh the good 'ole days!  (kidding!  that was work!)

I've used scraps of various design paper for the background, Martha Stewart icicle border punch, Prismacolor markers for coloring the image and Chalk-AH-Lot Jules Blue chalk for the sky.  A touch of sparkle on the roof & ground snow was added with a 2-way glue stick & Deco Art Glamour Dust.

Here's a close up ...

I would like to enter this creation into the following challenges:
Cards Galore - Anything Goes
CDAC Seasonal Fun - What happens Jan - March (Easy Membership Required)
Crafty Sentiments - Winter Fun
Creative Card Crew - Snow & Ice

Thanks so much for stopping in today and I hope you'll pop over to QKR Stampede and check out what the design team has created to inspire you with today!

QKR Stampede Challenge

Hello my friends!
Can you believe another weekend is upon us?
It will be spring before you know it!  LOL!!  Well . . . not quite!

Today I'm thrilled to once again have my Guest Designer Hat on for QKR Stampede and our challenge theme today is SNOWMAN/SNOW ...

I've created a card using their digi image called Feeding the Birds (#digi10501).

I know EXACTLY who I'm going to send this card to.  Hubby & I are adamant about feeding the birds during the winter months and we have friends in PA who do the same ... I think they will enjoy this creation.

Recipe:
Papers - white cs, scraps of green cs, red cs, SU 2-sided Frostwood Lodge dp
Sentiment Stamp - Hero Arts
Ink - Versafine Onxy Black
Accessories - Gold Glitter Pen for squiggles, MS snowflake punch, Prismacolor markers, Spellbinder Classic oval dies, x-Press It High Tack Foam Mounting Tape

After coloring my digi image, I decided to start my creation by looking for a fun sketch and after going through the files at Feline Playful, I found this one . . .

. . . at Addicted To Stamps.   My snowman and oval panel behind him is actually ONE panel.  I forget the name of that technique but it's where you partially cut out your image then run it through the Cuttlebug ... it's called something like 'outside the circle' ... I'll have to do a little research and get back to you on that.

Here are a few other challenges this card fits:
Eclectic Ellapu - Snow Much Fun
Gingerloft Challenge - Christmas or Winter
Crafting by Designs - Snowman/Snowmen
Creative Belli  - Winter/Snowman
The House that Stamps Built - Make It Snow
The Perfect Sentiment - Winter Wonderland

So there ya have it!  I had great fun with both coloring this image & doing the sketch (two things I really do enjoy).  I hope you'll pop over to QKR Stampede ... check out the amazing creations by the design team ... then join in the challenge fun!  See you there!

Exciting News!!

Hello blogging friends and thanks for stopping by today!

I'm so excited to share with you that I've been asked to be the January Guest Designer at the
How much fun is this going to be!!??!!

This is a weekly challenge that comes live on Friday,
so I hope you'll come join in the fun!

Today's challenge is
ANYTHING GOES

I am in need of some 'manly' birthday cards so I chose to use their digi stamp called 'Old Car' (digi20205).  What a fun image to color & create with.  I decided on a pretty simple design since it is 'for the guys' and have used a plaid design paper from Paper Pizazz as the backgound and hunter green cardstock for my base card.
The other products used on this creation are:
Spellbinder Labels 14, Michaels gingham ribbon and my wrench charm is from Inky Impressions.  Prisma markers were used for my coloring.

I'm going to try very hard this year to COMPLETE the inside of each of my cards at the same time I design the front.  Most times I hold off doing that until I know exactly for whom or what occasion I will be using the card for but I'm just going to GET 'R DONE this year!
(I guess you might say that is  my New Years Resolution! ... now to stick with it!  LOL!)

A few other challenges:
Crafty Catz #164 - Anything Goes
Inspire Me Friday - Anything Goes
Stampin' For The Weekend - Anything Goes
Stampin' with the Dragon - Anything Goes
Forever Friends Monthly Challenge - Birthday
Little Miss Muffet Challenges - Anything Goes
Simply Create #16 - Anything Goes

I hope you'll pop on over to the QKR Stampede Challenge Blog and check out the amazing creations from the design team ... then choose to join in the fun!!  See you there!
