Tutti Designs - Love Forever

Hello my friends!

Today I'm filling in for DT Member Debbie over on the Tutti Designs Blog, who like so many right now, is down with the flu!  We wish her a speedy recovery.  What fun to create another new, inspirational creation using dies from the Tutti Designs Store.   With Valentine's Day right around the corner and all the gorgeous heart dies available in the November release, that is the direction I went in today using the Doves In Love die as my main focus.

No automatic alt text available.

For my sentiment I have used some of the newest dies which are the many word dies available in the store in the December Release.
Today's choice as you see are: LOVE & FOREVER

Image may contain: textNo automatic alt text available. There are actually 20 different word die sets available at the store and they each come in two sizes!  Giving you a wonderful assortment of ways you can personalize your creations.

Be sure to 'check them out'!

For today's focus, I wanted the doves to be white so I die cut my 'Doves in Love' twice ... once in red and again in white.  Then using my swivel craft knife I simply cut away the doves from the center and positioned them over the red die cut panel... off setting them just slightly.  Then I simply cut the 'leaves/branches' that were left inside the heart and now I will have this beautiful scalloped heart that I can use on another creation.

A touch of Red Stickles on the heart elements of the doves and my card is ready to share!

Please be sure to pop over to the
and check out all of these fabulous dies.

Celebrating our 1st Anniversary at Double D Challenges!!

WOW!  Can you believe it???
Double D Challenge Blog is celebrating it's FIRST ANNIVERSARY!

As I'm sure you already know, I am one of the D's in Double D ... the other D is my BFF Diane Hover (Nellie's Nest)!  She and I tossed around the idea of starting our own challenge blog late in the year of 2015 ... we thought it would be great fun so we quickly pulled it all together.  We were so fortunate enough to gather an amazing team of designers and Diane's idea of the mood boards has been very well received (she's so dang smart!).  Now here we are a year later and still having wonderful fun and being continually inspired by our fabulously talented team members!
We also have YOU to thank for this success!!

SO ... we've decided to have a little celebration and offer ADDITIONAL PRIZES for both January challenges.  You will want to be sure to pop over to the DD BLOG for ALL the details (some of the DT ladies are offering prizes too ... WOW how generous is that)!

Today's theme is:

ANNIVERSARY/BLOGAVERSARY/BIRTHDAY

Anything you want as long as you use something in/on
our mood board to inspire you.

I was inspired by the number 1 and the peachy colored flowers.

The card is actually a 'softer' peachy tone than you see in my photo but you get the idea.
I have used a combination of very old goodies and some very new goodies on today's card.  The designer paper is from Graphic45 'Secret Garden'  6x6 pack.  The reverse side of the strip I cut off for my background panel was used to die cut my lacy panel ... love when you can do that!  You will also notice that I've created the illusion of a silver/gray mat by edging my background panel using a silver Pilot Marker.

Ok so here's a peek at the prizes available at the challenge blog (remember some of the DT members are offering prizes on their blogs too!) ...

COME JOIN IN THE FUN!
YOU could be one of the lucky winners!!
See you there!
Thanks for stopping by,

A Card for any Occasion!

Hello Everyone!
WOW!  Are you having trouble getting your mojo going like I am?
Today I decided to create a card using a couple of challenges as my starting point to help get the creative juices flowing.
First the sketch I have used is for the latest challenge at Mojo Monday ...

and I decided to get adventurous and use glitter!
Yes I said GLITTER ... something I rarely do because somehow I end up with it EVERYWHERE!~!  LOL
So of course the current challenge at Sprinkle n Sparkle (loose glitter, embossing powder and/or flocking) gave me the shove I needed!

Here's my creation:

The stamp set I've used to create my background panel as well as my focus panel is a set from Sparkle n Sprinkle called Poppies.  For the background panel I simply stamped my image using Versafine Onyx on a white card stock panel that is 1/4" smaller than my card base.

For my focus image, I used the same stamp but stamped it onto white card stock using Versamark.  Then sprinkled PK Glitz 'china red' embossing glitter and heat set.  I used a green alcohol marker to add a touch of color to the leaves.

After double matting my focus image using Tutti Designs 'stitched circles', I decided I needed a little more sparkle and added a red glitter border around my second background panel using a Nuvo glue pen and red glitter.  I purchased the entire set of glue pens at the Sparkle n Sprinkle booth at last years Adventures in Stamping convention here in Akron.  LOVE THOSE THINGS!!!
A little faux stitching and white gelly roll dots were my finishing touches.

So there ya go ... that wasn't so bad!
I just needed a little help getting started!

I hope you'll come back tomorrow when I'll be telling you all about the
BIG ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
going on at the Double D Challenge Blog
(yahoo ... there will be some awesome prizes to play for)

Thanks for stopping by and as always . . .

Tutti Designs - Forever - December Release

Happy Sunday AND HAPPY NEW YEAR Everyone!
SORRY!  Busy day here at Dar's Crafty Creations with THREE postings to start out the new year!  Yikes!
Please be sure to check out my exciting news & blog hop HERE
as well as a new creation for the Dies R Us blog HERE.
So, with that being said, it's my turn to share a new, inspirational creation using dies from the Tutti Designs Store.  Today's card combines dies from the November release as well as one of the new Word Die Sets from our recent December release.  You'll want to pop over and check them out ... so many uses for these words ... you'll want to get your order in before they run out!

I created this beautiful focus heart using two die sets ...

No automatic alt text available.
No automatic alt text available.I used the largest die in the Stitched Nested Hearts set for the matting portion of my focus heart.

I wanted to have add sparkle to my focus panel so before putting the two hearts together, I coated the entire Heart Garden die with Nuvo glue and lavishly sprinkled glamour dust over the entire die cut.

To finish off my card I used one of the banners from the Stitched Nesting Banners set #214 and chose the word FOREVER (#238) from our new December Release.  I die cut the FOREVER twice and just slightly offset them to add a shadow effect.

A couple little hearts that were laying on the work table just screamed to be added to my card!  A few 'pearl drops' from Nuvo Crystal Drops and my card is ready to warm someone's heart!
Please be sure to pop over to the Tutti Designs Store
and check out all of these fabulous dies.

Dies R Us - Wishing you a SPECIAL 2017

SORRY!  Busy day here at Dar's Crafty Creations with THREE postings to start out the new year!  Yikes!
Please be sure to check out my exciting news & blog hop HERE

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I'd like to wish you all a very Special 2017 filled with love, laughter and lots of crafting time!
Today I have a card to share that I've created using up some of those left overs that were on my work table from years end creations ... and a new release die to share too!
I LOVE playing with my die cuts!  You can make a card quick, easy & beautiful just by using your dies ... but sometimes I like to get inky and create a background to really help make my die cuts POP!  Like I've done today!

The dies I've used today are:

Yvonne Creations - Holly Jolly - Nesting Frame
Yvonne Creations - Holly Jolly Nesting Frame #10067
The inside circle was left from another project ... worked perfectly here to showcase the Penny Black 'The Sweetest Sound' #51-206 birds which were also die cut for another project but not used.  This set is out of stock at the moment but you could use so many other beautiful bird dies that are available in the store ... for instance,
Penny Black - Dies - Perched
 Penny Black - Perched #51-031

And be sure to check out the December release for Tutti Designs ... so many fabulous word die sets to choose from!  Today I couldn't decide between AMAZING and SPECIAL ... obviously Special won out!

I don't usually go into such detail but it's a New Year and I thought I'd share the technique I used on today's card with you also.   Recently a friend introduced me to a technique that's been around for awhile now but I had never tried.  It's called the Northern Lights technique (imagine that) and so I looked it up on youtube and gave it a whirl.  There are several different versions but I like the one shared by Debbie Henderson found HERE.

Here's a quick look at what you'll need & do:

Using sponge daubers, sponge your various colors across a panel of white card stock as shown.

Next you'll go around the outside edge with a dark blue ink (I've used SU Not Quite Navy).  Then just around the outer edge using black ink.
To give the illusion of a night sky.

To create your 'mountains' you need to tear a scrap of card stock (as seen below), lay it over your northern light inked sky and sponge the entire bottom of your card with the same dark blue ink.  Lastly you'll just do the edge with black to give you a distinct mountain range.

VIOLA!
Now comes the fun of getting creative with your die cuts to finish your scene!
Remember, each an every day of the month there's a new inspiration sample shared on the blog by this fabulous design team.  Please be sure to pop in regularly.

Manja (black colored)

Imelda (3 Scrappy Sisters)

Our first challenge theme is EVERYTHING GOES WITH SOMETHING NEW!
(i.e. New Home, New Baby, New Car, New Job ... etc.)

I decided to go with a 'New Home' creation.
I've create the background by sponging the top half of my white card stock panel with blue Tim Holtz 'Broken China' distress ink (sky) and the bottom half with Memento 'Bamboo Shoots' (grass).  Then added in a forest of pines using the Memory Box 'Snowy Pine Landscape #F1900 stamp.

You can't have a new home in the country without a dog & a picket fence!  LOL
And, I love how the door opens on this Memory Box die ... saying "Come on in and Welcome to our new home!"

Again, I'm excited about this new adventure and I hope you'll come check it out and join in the blog hop /challenge fun!
