WOW! Here we are mid week again already!
I purchased a few stamp sets from Our Daily Bread earlier in the Spring and after receiving a request from my Mom for some cards for her church, I knew I wanted to get inky with those stamp sets. Here's a card I made today using the 'Anchor' stamp set ...
I also had a couple of challenges in mind when I was putting this card together. First, of course, is the challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs blog - Sponging and secondly is the Paper & Such Design Blog challenge - Just Stamp On It - stamping on designer paper.
I've used a sheet of design paper from a DCWV matstack to stamp my verse on for my background. For my focus image, I've used 3 different Tim Holtz distress inks and large sponge daubers to create the sky/water/sand background before stamping my anchor image with Versafine Black ink. A 'sky' stamp from Ala Art helped create my clouds and I've used a fine tip black marker for the faux stitching. White organza ribbon from Michaels and an anchor charm from Inky Impressions were my only embellishments.
Other challenges this card qualifies for are:
Cards & More - Anything Goes -must stamp (3rd entry)
Deep Ocean Challenge - Deep Blue
Another card I made for the church also fit two of this week's challenges over on Splitcoast Stamper.
The CAS (clean & simple) challenge and the Technique challenge. The technique was really cool ... it was called 'Water Stamping'. I will be doing a quick tutorial to share this technique with you very soon so be watching for it. And for those of you who belong to SCS be sure to check it out in their Tutorial Section.
The verse on this card is from Impression Obsession. I also (FINALLY) purchased some of the ever so popular TWINE and have used it both on the focus sentiment & the bottom edging of the inked panel. LOVE that stuff and will be purchasing more very soon. My angle panel was first inked using Tim Holtz 'Broken China' & 'Dusty Concord' before doing the 'Water Stamping' technique.
Here are a few challenge this card qualifies for:
Can You Dig It - Purple Please
Creative Craft Challenge - Just a Sentiment
LEJ Designs - Clean and Simple
Shopping Our Stash - Technique Time (try something new or revisit something old)
Well I'd better get back to work!
I was commissioned yesterday for 20 Note Cards using pages from this ladies OLD music book as the background ... should be fun ... will share when I get my thoughts finalized and get creating. Thanks again for stopping by today and for all your kindness!
OH and a quick reminder ...
I've added 4 additional items just today (will add photos to the original post).
Stunning cards Darlene. I really love the inked background on your first card and the verse on your second card is fabulous.
