Hello Friends!
It's time once again for a new challenge at the Double D Challenge Blog and, it's another fun theme chosen by Diane ... also check out the amazing mood board she has designed to inspire you!
Our theme is:
Flowers of the Month (January thru June)
January - Carnations or Snowdrops
February - Violets or Primrose
March - Daffodils~Jonquils~Narcissus
April - Daisy~Sweet Pea~Gerber Daisy
May - Lily of the Valley or Hawthorne
June - Rose or Honeysuckle
Here's the mood board Diane has created . . .
As you can see in the photo, I decided upon Lily of the Valley.
No particular reason other than I think they are so pretty and I had this fabulous Tutti Designs Lily Heart Panel die that had never been used and worked perfectly.
No particular reason other than I think they are so pretty and I had this fabulous Tutti Designs Lily Heart Panel die that had never been used and worked perfectly.
After cutting the panel from white card stock, I die cut again (just the center section), colored it with a darker green Spectrum Noir alcohol marker and layered it over top the original panel. A sentiment and a few butterflies and VIOLA ... ready to brighten someone's day.
Diane has this fabulous prize offered to one lucky winner.
But, you have to play to win!!
Be
sure to pop over to our Double D Challenge Blog and check out what the design
team ladies have created ... they are amazingly talented and I'm sure
you'll find more wonderful inspiration!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, lily of the valley has always been a favorite of mine and I grow not only white but pink as well. Love the added colors of the greens and pretty blue!
ReplyDeleteYour card is delightful Dar! That Lily of The Valley die is fabulous. I thought you used several dies to make this. I love how you added the colors to this single die.
ReplyDeleteWhen we bought our first house, there were a bunch of lily of the valley already planted for me to enjoy. Seeing this card, I can smell them and the memory is so sweet,
ReplyDeleteLovely card. The colors are great. [Bunny]
ReplyDeleteWOW! How Fab is that die and you have used it perfectly here! I love Lily Of The Valley. Got some from my MIL had it at our old house and now here, it does spread like crazy, which is great as it is on a slopey hill on the side of our house. Your card looks AHmazing!
ReplyDeleteSuch an adorable card! I love Lily of the Valley, they always remind me of my Grammie. She loved them too and would pick and pick them until all the stems together were as big as a lemon in diameter. That's a lot of flowers. This card just makes me smile, and I really like your design too. That is a fabulous die, well done!!
ReplyDeleteThe heart panel is amazing! Lovely card
ReplyDeleteI ordered that die today!!
DeleteOh my that is lovely, I like the dimension you have brought to the die cut too, like your addition of the butterflies!
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty, Darlene! I love lily of the valley and just bought some for my flower bed. The pop of blue butterflies really compliments the white and green.
ReplyDeleteLove what you did with this die. I have it and would never have thought to overlay it like you did. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteIn a word - BEAUTIFUL! I just love how you created this and those blue butterflies look fabulous with those amazing flowers!
ReplyDeleteSo delicate love the way you layered it on the green
ReplyDeleteOh so pretty! My lily of the valley are just opening in the garden but they are so low down I miss out on their wonderful scent. I was sadden to hear about friends who turned their backs on you... This has happened to me several times and the reason I no longer do the Thursday club... It's one thing turning their backs another stabbing you in it! I know how much it hurts... don't you fret Dar... Karma always has her way. Big hugs to you
ReplyDeleteOMGosh, Darlene, something about this just dropped my jaw. Maybe it's the lattice, maybe the green, probably both along with those pretty Lily of the Valley. So beautifully done. Hey, about those friends... this one loves you. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteOh wow! What a beautiful card. What a beautiful die. Love Lilies of the Valley! Love how you die cut the green to make it stand out. Gorgeous creation, my friend.
