1 Card - 5 Challenges

Here we are at the beginning of another week already!!
My Sundays are always peaceful ...
and for that I am very thankful!!

Today, I am in a "vintage" mood, my favorite style of creating!  And after checking out a few challenges, I have come up with this creation.

(click on image for larger view)
I have several ways to satisfy my "vintage image needs" and today I have used one of the beauties found over on Art Creations Friday(If by chance I forget to attach the link to any of the vintage sites I refer to in my postings, you can always find them on my "Vintage Creations & Links" page ... located under my header).  The designer paper used here is K&Co Ancestry ... I just love that paper pack!  The three border punches are: SU lace ... Fiskars Apron Lace ... and Martha Stewart Arch Lattice.  For the matting I have used Nestabilities Classic & Scallop Ovals as well as the Classic Circles.  The ribbons, brads & charm all came from JoAnn's.
Here are the challenges this card covers:
Card Patterns Sketch #59 - Basic sketch
Crazy 4 Challenges - 1 ribbon, 2 buttons or brads and the use of 3 different punches
Stamp Something - Stitching (real or faux)
Our Creative Corner - Use Bows
Dare You To Digi Stamp - Metal  (hope this qualifies ... not a "digi image" but is an internet image which I consider digital).

We seem to be off to a very slow start here at the Pavlick house today ... guess I'd better get out of the crafting cave and see what DH has in mind and get this day moving!!  Thanks for stopping by today ... your visits & comments mean so much to me!!

Tomorrow is *Wink *Wink Ink DT day and I have another "cutie" to share with you!  Hope to see you there!!

Our Creative Corner Challenge

Boy, I'm really taking it down to the wire on this challenge!! Last Saturday's Our Creative Corner Challenge was a sketch challenge (seen below) and you know how much I LOVE a sketch challnege!! I actually began this card for another challege but changed my mind and went with this sketch for these colors. I hope you like it!

The recipe for this card is as follows:

Stamps: Impression Obsession (sentiment), The Rubber Cafe, SU "In My Thoughts" (inside sentiment)
Papers: Whisper White, Prely Pomegranate, Paper Pizazz designer paper
Inks: Purely Pomegranate
Accessories: The Paper Studio mini pearls, Nestabilities (ovals & scallop ovals), Fiskars (Apron Lace) border punch, dimensionals, Martha Stewart (Arch Lattice) border punch

This was a very simple, fun card to create and you know .... you can never have enough Birthday cards ready!!! I also thought you might like to see the inside of this card. I used the negative portion from my Nestabilities scallop oval and a scrap of the designer paper which I border punched.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Don't forget to leave a comment on my Blogaversary posting to be entered into the drawing for some candy!! Happy Weekend to you All!!

Our Creative Corner Challenge

This week's OCC (Our Creative Corner) challenge is a sketch challenge hosted by Jennifer Meyer (Jennifer's Sweet Designs) . I love doing sketch challenges simply because the first step (the layout) is already decided for me and that helps a lot when the mojo isn't as it should be!!! If you know what I mean, LOL!!

I took the liberty of flipping this sketch to accommodate this cute Rubber Cottage image I purchased at the Adventures in Stamping convention back in April and had yet to ink up. I missed my neice's little boy's birthday last month so I think I'll get him a gift card and put this in the mail a.s.a.p.! He just turned 5 so I think this will be appropriate.

The recipe for this card is as follows:
Stamps: Rubber Cottage, AMuse
Paper: Navy cs, Real Red, Garden Green, WW & Stampin' Up dp
Ink: Versafine Black
Accessories: Offray navy grosgrain ribbon, Making Memories brads, SU watercolor pencils & blender pen
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today ... hope you are having a wonderful weekend!!!

Our Creative Corner Challenge

This weeks Our Creative Corner Challenge focuses on SENTIMENTS. The ladies have come up with some wonderful samples ... please pop over and give them a look.
Here I've used one of my sentiments from the Our Daily Bread Light of the World set. I've stamped it onto a scrap piece of Crafty Secrets Classic designer paper. The floral swag was cut from the opposite side of that same scrap using a swivel craft knife. My papers are Stampin' Up Pink Pirouette and Purely Pomegranate. I used an Ornare paper piercing template to do the sunburn in the upper right corner then placed a Making Memories brad in the center. I used the Creative Memories corner rounder to round off only 3 of the 4 corners ... something a little bit different!! My double face white satin ribbon is by Darice.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! The weather here in NE Ohio is absolutely beautiful (upper 70's) and perfect picnic weather!! Hope you are having a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!!

OCC - Sketch Challenge

Here is the card I made for this weekend's challenge over on Our Creative Corner. It's a sketch challenge and you know how much I LOVE sketch challenges!!! (click on image for larger view)

The base card is 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 in size and I've cut my card from a 12x12 sheet from the DCWV Luxury pack. The other papers I've used are SU Chocolate Chip, Ivory cardstock and my floral designer paper is from the Basic Grey Sugared 6x6 pack. I've used my new Martha Stewart border punch for the ivory panels. For the hearts I used the yellow sized Marvy heart punch and punched them from Pixie Pink & Pink Pirouette paper. I've used mauve Stickles to add a little sparkle. My main image is by Stampabilities and the sentiment comes from the new Crafty Secrets set "Bouquet of Joy".
Here is how the shadowing around the main image is achieved: Stamp your image, die cut it with Nesabilities and BEFORE removing the image from the stencil, sponge out around with your color matching ink. When you remove the stencil, you have this nice little edge and the sponging really brings focus to your image. A little trick I learned from one of my favorite stampers ... Sharon Johnson (notimetostamp).
Thanks for stopping by ... please come back! Have a great day!!

Two More Challenges Complete!!

The snow has finally stopped here ... we ended up with nearly a foot and believe me when I say ... enough is enough ... bring on the Springtime weather!! It's nearly bedtime but I just had to share the other two challenge cards I was able to complete today! Hope you don't mind!!

First is a card I did for the sketch challenge over on the Our Creative Corner blog. This was a fun sketch and I couldn't wait to use my new Crafty Secrets "Feeling Yucky" images. Aren't they adorable!!! There are so many cute images on this set ... you'll be seeing more get well cards posted in the days to come I'm sure!! LOL!!
My second card was done for yet another sketch challenge ... this one is over on the PaperCraft Planet. The main panel on this sketch was a heart so I decided to use the nicest "heart" image I have which is from The Rubber Cafe. I've also used my Cuttlebug Heart embossing folder on the Crafty Secrets (Radiant) designer paper as well as the Cuttlebug With Love border folder. The rose is by Paper Inspirations and after inking it with Ruby Red & Always Artichoke, I cut it out and tucked it in behind my border folder panel. I'm very happy with the outcome! What do you think?? Oops, almost forgot ... the FOREVER image is from the SU Wonderful Words II set.
There you have it ... I'm finished playing for today!! But what a fun day I've had ... finally got some creative juices flowing and hated to stop. Thanks so much for stopping by and PLEASE come back ... I love hearing what you think of my work ... good or bad!!
DH is feeling a little better this evening ... let's hope it carries over into tomorrow!!!

OCC Sketch Challenge

Happy Sunday All!!

Here is my card for yesterday's Our Creative Corner sketch challenge. I really like this Stampin' Up "A Wish for Peace" stamp set and it seems every time I use it I ink it up in green ... what's up with that??? I bet it would be beautiful in gold too ... have to try that!! Anyways ... what do you think??

This card is A6 in size and the base card is white. I have used duplex hunter green/ivory cs for my matting base. The designer paper is by Making Memories (snowflake) and as it is reversable, I have used the polka dotted side as a 3rd matting on my main image. I have used diamond Stickles to add a little sparkle of "snow" as well as shimmer to the tree. (see closeup) The main image and the peace dove are popped up using dimensional tape. The ink I used is Versafine Olympia Green and after distressing the main image, I sponged the edges with the same ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog ... hope you are having a wonderful, restful weekend!! I just finished my cranberry relish for Thursday now I have to go get my pie dough prepared and refrigerated. Afterall, there is stamping to be done in amongst the Thanksgiving stuff, LOL!!

1 card ... 2 challenges

Hope your day is going well!!! I finally got the opportunity to do today's Crafty Secrets Challenge over on the SCS Member Companies forum. Today's host is Lori Lynn Washburn and she has asked us to use chipboard on our project. I decided I could combine today's card to fit in with Saturday's challenge over on the Our Creative Corner blog - bling.

Stamps used here are all from the Crafty Secrets - Vintage Christmas set. The chipboard is also Crafty Secrets - Sweet Chips which I have covered in Diamond Stickles. I just LOVE this vintage Santa and I chose to stamp him using Versafine black ink on whisper white cs punched using the Marvy scallop circle punch. After stamping the image, I masked him and stamped/embossed the Memories silver snowflakes and added the acrylic jewels by The Beadery for the BLING! Oh yea, I simply colored him lightly using SU watercolor pencils and a blender pen. The background paper on this card is also from Crafty Secrets, their Radiant paper pack.
I'm not a very big "bling/sparkle" type of cardmaker, but I really like how this card looks. A friend of mine is a HUGE glitter, sparkle fan ... maybe she'll be the recipient of this holiday card!! Thanks for stopping by ... please come back again! Till then ... have a great day!!!
