Hello Dear Friends!
It's time once again for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!
I'm hosting today and as you can see by my blog title ... the theme is:
SILHOUETTES
Here's the mood board I've created . . .
Which image inspired you the most??
I was torn between the kids and Santa but went with the kids today,
since I know I'll be using Santa a lot in the days to come.
While my sister-in-law and niece were visiting for the day last month,
they were curious about what I do in my 'cave' and I was
showing them how much fun it was to create background panels
using oxide inks and since this panel was laying on the table
just BEGGING to be used, that is where my SILHOUETTE card began.
I just adore this Die Versions 'lovely kids' die so that was my
silhouette of choice for today's creation. By using a Stampscapes
tree branch stamp, I've created the illusion of these youngins'
swinging on a 'swing built for two', high up on a hill among the trees.
My background hillside was created using one of the Lawn Fawn
The ropes for the swing were created by using Bakers Twine.
REMEMBER: We have a fun prize to give away to one lucky player,
which will be chosen by Random.org
ALL are welcome to enter ... we will ship internationally!
So be sure to pop over to the Double D Challenge Blog to see all the details and amazing samples offered up by our VERY TALENTED design team ladies!!
How lovely your card is! This is something I never do; I don't think I have ever used a sillhouette in my card making. So you have inspired me friend!
ReplyDeleteUne très jolie carte de silhouettes, attendrissantes.

ReplyDeleteThis is so adorable! Love your multi colored sky and that hillside die. Just beautiful, Darlene!
ReplyDeleteLove your pretty background and the silhouette you chosen, isn't that the sweetest?
ReplyDeleteThis is very pretty and sweet, Darlene! I love this closer look and the rest of the story. You have a beautiful background that really gives the feel of a night sky just before it turns completely dark. It must be summer because those kids sure aren't dressed for winter. About those kids... I've taken a close look at their silhouette and I really appreciate how realistic this die is. Their posture, the boy's hand as it rests on the swing, everything. Big WOW for this, Darlene!
ReplyDeleteYour card is so beautiful with that blended background and those darling children on the swing. And, adding the leaves sure makes it look like they are swinging under some big old trees.
ReplyDeleteLove this background too and the sweet little ones on the swing.xx
ReplyDeleteAwwww... Sweetness indeed!! Love really a lot this card! Adorable scene and the twine is a brilliant touch!
ReplyDeleteSilhouettes are something that I rarely use so this was a great challenge. I went to my cameo for mime. Your sweet kids reminds me of my grands. Great sky background too. Love this card.
ReplyDeleteOh Darlene is that ever adorable, I love how you have created a tree for them to be hanging from and how fun to have had some play time with family, love the background you chose for this!
ReplyDeleteWonderful background and such a cute stamp. It makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteThis is simply delightful and such a sweet silhouette! The tree swing is such a clever idea and I love that pretty background too! Also love those gift bags and tissue box covers from above! I wish I could manage my time as well as you do ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is so stinkin' adorable. When I saw it I just smiled. Love your background, which is perfect for that sweet silhouette. Well done, I really adore this.
ReplyDeleteAwww ... sweet love! Beautiful and sweet card, my friend.
