What's your favorite color???

This creation is to cover two challenges today ... the layout is for Carol's Sketch Fun #14 and the theme is for the Stamp Something with your favorite Color or Paper Challenge. Anyone who knows me, knows I love PURPLE and VINTAGE. So, I've combined my two favorites into this one card. I've taken a "little" liberty with the layout but I think you can still pick up the original sketch on my card.

I just LOVE vintage papers ... almost to the point of obsession I'm afraid! LOL!! Sometimes it just so hard to cut into it once I buy it but I've used portions of this 12x12 Tapestry Lavendar & Lace dp before so it wasn't as painful today... LOL!! The tag is actually a portion of the paper that I carefully cut out with my Fiskars swivel craft knife, then used the other portion as background matting for this same card.
The only stamps used is the little Stampendous Funky Flower stamp that I used with Versamark on the foreground lavendar panel (just looked too plain ... needed something ... you know how that is). The ribbon is Offray Amethyst satin purchased from JoAnn's and I've attached the tag with a Making Memories polished gold brad and wrapped a piece of Inkadinkado gold thread around it.
I'm happy to say that my fever has finally broken so I'm starting to feel a little more human today and thought I'd work on a couple challenges. Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and if you've commented ... a double thanks goes to you!! Your comments on my work mean so much to me ... whether they are good or bad ... it helps to make me better at this craft that I love so much!! Have a great day!!

2 for 1 Creation ..

Here is a card I created last evening to satisfy two different challenges. The layout is for the Carol's Sketch Fun #13 challenge and the "theme" is for the ANIMAL - Stamp Something challenge.
I decided to use this awesome "cat" image from The Rubber Cafe and I've stamped in both Versafine sepia and black inks. The sponging around the outer edge was done with Ranger Vintage Photo distress ink. The antique brass brads are by Making memories. The designer papers I chose to use are all from the Stampin' Up "To the Nines" specialty pack. They have texture and depth .. perfect for this layout design.
Hope you enjoyed this creation! PLEASE come back tomorrow when I have a BIG announcement and some exciting news to share with you!!!! Until then ... have a great, fun day!!!

Friendships ...

My card today covers two challenges ... the sketch is from Carol's Sketch Fun #11 and the color choice comes from the OCC Challenge this week to use Shades of Purple.

Before I tell you about my card, I have to make a shout out to my new found, fellow Ohioan friend Angie Cortes who created my new watermark ... isn't it awesome!!! She was even kind enough to link me up with the "how to's" in watermarking!!!
And I only think it's fair to tell you that I found Angie through another Ohioan friend, Crystal (thanks girlie!!). What do you think? Kool,
huh!!!

Okay ... onto my creation. This card certainly uses a variety of Shades of Purple. And the fact that purple is my favorite color ... I couldn't control myself!!! Hopefully, I didn't overdue it!! Here are the details of this card:

Stamps: Stampabilities, Rubber Stampede, Stampin' Up Friendship Flowers (inside verse)

Papers: Lovely Lilac, Basic Black, Whisper White, BoBunny designer paper, Musical Note dp (unknown)

Inks: Versafine black, Elegant eggplant

Accessories: Nestabilities (oval & scallop oval), stipple brush, dimensionals, Creative Memories round tip black marker, Darice and Stampin' Up ribbons

I've been making an attempt to COMPLETE my cards and show you the inside when possible. This should make my friend Linda Davis VERY happy ... she's always said that "not enough people show the inside as well as the outside of their creations". See Linda ... I listened to you!!! LOL!!!

Thanks for stopping by today. Don't forget to leave a comment on my Blogaversary posting to be eligible for the blog candy ... become a follower and have your name put in the hat twice ... mention it on your blog and your name goes in three times!!! Hope you're having a great weekend!!
