Spring is Here ???????

Oh how I wish I could really say "Spring is Here!"  But as I look out my front door this Saturday afternoon ... I see nothing but snow, snow & more snow.  And yes ... it is actually snowing AGAIN!!!  So, since it is snowing, I have no choice but to stay indoors and play with paper & ink!  Oh wow is me!!  LOL!!!

(click for a larger view)
Looking through a few challenges that are out there to play, this card came together.  I love these Sugar Nellie images and since I don't use (or have) Copics, I don't feel my coloring is as good as some others but hey ... it is what it is!!  I do love this new technique where you cut out a portion of your image and slide the Nestabilities die in behind before cutting it out.  I really like the look of part of the image extending beyond the cutting line.

Here are the challenges this card satisfies today:
Inky Impressions #30:  Think Spring
Inspirational Card Sketches #55 - Sketch by Dawn B.
Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday - SPARKLE
Crazy4 Challenge - Three Textures
Stamp Something - Recipe (designer paper, buttons, ribbon)

For the sparkle on my card, I have used Tiara Stickles, Red glitter ribbon & Teal glitter ribbon ... both from the Flower Factory.  I wish I could get a better photo of this ribbon ... it is REALLY SPARKLY!!!  I also colored the little girls clothes & the flowers using Gelly Roll Stardust Glitter Pens (again with the camera angle, uugh!)  Tiara Stickles was placed in the centers of all the flowers as well as the centers of the buttons and around the half moon panel.

The three texture portions of my card comes in the form of the Cuttlebug swiss dot embossed panel ... the grit of the sparkle ribbons and the embossing from the Nestabilities panels.

The designer papers used are from various Stampin' Up designer paper packs. And, my lovely sentiment is an Integrity Image from my friend, Joni!!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Stay warm, stay safe & above all, stay happy!!
Life is too short to be anything but happy!!

Thoughts of SPRINGTIME ...

Good Monday Morning To You All!!!

More snow is expected today but I'm going to "think happy thoughts" and create with "thoughts of SPRINGTIME"!

My creation for today satisfies four different challenges!  I'm not as good at combining challenges as some of the ladies out there in blogland, but I do the best I can, LOL!!

The sketch comes from the PCP sketch challenge for this week (SK022010), the theme of SPRING is for Stamp Something, CCEE Stampers is looking for something SWEET and using a CHARM is requested over on Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday.

Another Shabby chic papirskatter image was used for my focus panel and it just made me instantly think of Springtime!!  Here is a list of all the items used on this creation:

Stamps:  Stampin' Up "So Very"
Papers:  Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Bashful Blue, Crafty Secrets "Radiant" designer paper
Inks:  Versafine black
Accessories:  Image from Shabby chic papirskatter, Nestabilities classic & scallop circles, Michael's satin ribbon, sponge, Bow Easy, Making Memories heart charm, Prima flowers, Basic Grey brad, Kaiser pearl

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you enjoyed your visit!!

Valentine for Jon-Boy

While covering a few challenges tonight, I made a mistake and used an older idea from the one site which was to make a "masculine" valentine card ... well, that idea has past and they've moved onto a sketch challenge now, but that was the basis for my creation tonight.  Hopefully my grandson (Jonathan) isn't viewing my blog ... because I intend to sent this to him, teehee!!

The challenges this card does fit are as follows:
Crazy4 - Valentine Card
Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday - Valentine card with a twist - NO red
LOVE Something Challenge - love is the theme

The items used for this card are:
Stamps:  Valentine set from Target, The Rubber Cafe
Papers:  Whisper White, Graphic 45 dp, Colorbok dp
Inks:  Versafine Black
Accessories:  Nestabilities classic & scallop hearts ... Labels 9,  Stampendous Diamond Dots, Creative Memories fine tip black marker for Faux Stitching

Thanks so much for taking a peek!  Please stop back tomorrow for my Crafty Secrets Challenge  & Midnight Madness creations.  Hope to see you then!

If you haven't seen any of Teri's digis ... you MUST jump right on over and take a look!! So for my card I decided to use one of Teri's digital images ... isn't this flower pretty!!!

(click on image for larger view)

The other two challenges covered with this creation are the Crazy4 Challenge (C4C21) - Pretty in Pink and the Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday Challenge - Spring.

It's All About the BLUES ...

It's difficult during these winter months not to come down with a case of "the blues" but never fear ... Spring is right around the corner! Well, at least I am hanging on to that thought!! And if you can't PLAY OUTSIDE ... you may as well PLAY IN YOUR CRAFTROOM!!!

My creation today covers various challenges and a few of those challenges were looking for you to use the color "blue". The items used on this card are as follows:

Papers: Blue Bayou, SU Blue Bayou designer paper, Garden Green, Whisper White
Inks: Blue Bayou, Ranger Vintage Photo
Accessories: Image from The Lady's Closet, white paper doily, Basic Grey Opalite half pearls, Basic Grey pearled brad, JoAnn's Clear Iris String Pears, Prima flowers, Creative Memories corner rounder, distresser, sponge, Martha Stewart branch punch

And the challenges it covers are:

Simon Says Challenge Blog - Shabby Chic

Stamp Something - Blue & White

The Play Date Cafe (PDCC12) - Shades of Blue

Our Creative Corner - Blue & Green

Crazy 4 Challenge (C4C20) - Sketch

Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday - Girly

WOW ... I think that's the most challenges I've ever put together on one card! You ladies who do this all the time must be "rubbing off " on me!! LOL!! Plus the fact that I'm suffering from bicep tendinitis/arthritis in both arms/shoulders right now and crafting/typing is a bit painful ... guess my brain said, "put them all together and get back to resting those shoulders"! So that's what I've done!

Hope you find inspiration from this creation and thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Birthday Challenges ...

Good Morning All!!

Today I am your hostess for the Crafty Secrets Forum Challenge over on SCS and since I have several birthday's coming up this month ... that was my choice for this weeks challenge idea. I've been wanting to play with these Crafty Secrets Vintage Postcard Kits and finally took that opportunity today! The other kits I have are Christmas (guess I've missed that boat, LOL) so I decided to use the beautiful Best Buds kit. This is SO MUCH PRETTIER in real life!!!! (You should be able to click on the picture to enlarge).

How much fun is it that the Crazy 4 Challenge and Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Challenge this week are also Celebration/Birthday ... so my creation fits these two challenges as well. I've used the sketch from the CCEE Stampers Blog Challenge this week for my layout although I did take the liberty of flipping it in order to accommodate my image. Below is a listing of products used for this creation:

Stamps: Impression Obsession
Papers: Garden Green, Old Olive, SU Real Red dp
Inks: Versafine black
Accessories: Kaiser half pearls, pink Stickles Crafty Secrets Best Buds Vintage Postcard Kit

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you've enjoyed my creation. The challenges I have used today are all great FUN ... feel free to click the links I have provided with their names and play along!

Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday Challenge #9

WOW ... what a busy weekend I'm having ... but luckily I have a creation to share with you that I made for today's SSDS challenge ... which was a Halloween Theme. In fact, I have two Halloween creations to share with you.

My creations are both created using Rubbernecker images. Aren't they cute!

The scene on this first card was created using SU Home Is Where The Haunt Is stamp set. The sky was created with a little "sky" stamp from Ala Art. I used old olive ink and a sponge pod to create the grass ... another large sponge pod and more mustard ink to make the moon and soft sky ink for the sky. My "Halloween Ghost" was stamped onto white cardstock and colored with Prisma pencils and gamsol. I then used my Fiskars swivel craft knife to cut him out and pop him up in the front.

For my second creation, I used the same method as my first creation. Stamp, color with Prisma & cut out with swivel craft knife. I had had his Nestabilities scallop rectangle laying on my worktable and decided it was perfect to make my happy guy stand out!! It's hard to see in the photo, but I've popped up the TOP portion of the pumpking so it looks like he's ready to leap off the card. My base card is deep hunter green and the Halloween dp is from DCWV and I've used Hobby Lobby purple organza ribbon. The corner treatments are green metal dots by Colorbok.

Thanks for stopping by ... hope to see you again tomorrow!

Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday Challenge #8

With being away over the weekend ... I'm late playing in this week's challenge but I found time last evening to do a little creating and this is what I've come up with for this week's Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday Challenge. This week is a sketch challenge so I used a few goodies I found while in N.C. this weekend for my creation. This is a very EASY PEASY creation ... no stamps or ink ... simply designer paper & flowers. AND ... actually the main focus paper was a gift from the Stamper's Alley store, how nice was that!!! The background striped paper is by DCWV and the Happy Holiday paper was 2 sided & I couldn't find a mfg. marking ... sorry! The flowers are Prima and the brad is by Making Memories! Like I said ... EASY PEASY ... hope you like it!!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek! Please make time to pop on over to this challenge blog ... it's always fun and they have some AWESOME prizes too!

Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday Challenge

Evening everyone ... sorry I'm so late posting today but I've been suffering from a nasty head cold all day and just wasn't up to being creative until this evening. Anyways ... it's time again for another Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday Challenge (or as Boni calls it [SCROODLES] ). Today's challenge is a color challenge using BLUE & ORANGE and there is also an inspirational photo for you to ponder ... how cool is this!!

Does this photo scream FALL FUN or what!! Although I must admit the old Ford truck my "X" used to have was more of an Olive Drab color versus this awesome turquoise!! Either way, here is the card I created for today's challenge.

Since I'm in a FALL FUN mood, I decided to use this FUN Mice in a Pumpkin by M&M Designz from the Digital-Ink Co. Shoppe. My papers are Only Orange, Pacific Point, Debbie Mumm dp and Basic Grey Marrakech dp. I've used both watercolor pencils and prisma pencils for my coloring. The borders were cut using the SU scallop border punch and the Martha Stewart picket fence border punch. My sentiment was handwritten (and not spaced very well, LOL) but I felt it was appropriate for these cute little guys!!!

Hope you like my creation and thanks for stopping by today!!

A Sketch - Recipe Challenge Combination ...

Today I finally found time to work on a couple of challenges. I decided to combine the RECIPE challenge over on the Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday blog with the SKETCH challenge over on the Get Sketchy blog ... and here's what I have come up with.
My image is a digi from Jules Junk which can be purchased over at the Digital-Ink Co. Store. Be sure to check out all the digi's available ... they are awesome!!! My bacground papers are Graphic45 and K&Co. Ancestry. I have bordered each panel using a gold Pilot marker with the exception of the main image of course, and that was matted using gold metallic paper and cut using a Nestabilities oval scallop die. I've used watercolor pencils and a blender pen for my coloring ... the gold satin ribbon is from Hobby Lobby and the garden green sprigs are from the Martha Stewart "branch" punch.
Thanks for stopping by today! Now I'm headed back to my craftroom for more fun. If all goes well, I'll have a few more creations to share with you over the next day or so. Happy Day Everyone!!!

It's time for another ...

Are you having fun yet this weekend??? (I'm supposed to be at my Cousin's Reunion but I'm playing hookie just long enough that I can play along with some of my favorite challenges!!)

Today's SSDS challenge is to create a MONOCHROMATIC card/project. Believe it or not, doing mono cards can actually give me grief!! But since I had this awesome image from the Digital-Ink Co already colored and ready to go, I knew exactly what color I wanted to create with today!! And the fact that I just received my pack of the new SU IN-colors & ribbon ... Melon Mambo was my color of choice!! My 17 year old granddaughter is going to love this card!!

My digi image was colore with SU watercolor pencils & blender pens ... then once dry, gone over again with the pencils. Crystal Effects was added to the car to make it shiny (like a new car should look). The Bazzill paper flower has a brad center that says LOVE (don't know if you can see that unless you click for a closer look) which came from Target. I also used another brad in the center of the ribbon bow at the bottom . Here are all the details on this card:

Papers: Melon Mambo, Basic Grey Porcelain
Inks: Melon Mambo
Accessories: SSDS Image, SU Watercolor Pencils, blender pens, Crystal Effects, Stipple brush, Creative Memories corner rounder, Bazzill paper flower, Target brads, SU Melon Mambo grosgrain ribbon, BOW Easy

To join in on the fun and be eligible for this weeks fabulous prize. Head over to the SSDS blog and link your creation to Mr. Linky by 10:00 pm (EST) Friday (8/28/09) evening. Well ... guess I'd better get back to the Reunion before I'm missed ... boy, I'll really be in trouble!! LOL!! Have a great day & weekend! Do something fun for yourself ... life is too short not to enjoy each day the Lord gives us!!!

Edit to post ...

I was so inspired by this challenge (and realizing I really don't have any "Little Boy" images) I purchased this little guy yesterday ... made a card last evening and had to share it with you all! Isn't he cute ... and such a "BOY!" LOL!!
Rember, you can "click on any of my images for a closer look". This little guy is by Art Impressions and I've colored him using SU watercolor pencils and blender pen. I've handwritten the sentiment since I didn't have a coordinating stamp and it was 11:30 pm and didn't feel like computer generating one!! My Bad!!!
The background paper I created using my Cuttlebug Victoria embossing folder and double embossing. Not familiar with double embossing?? Let me know and I'll do a post on it for you! Very easy and looks awesome!! I added Crystal Effects to the frog to make him shiny (you can probably see it if you click on the image) don't know that you can tell here! Thanks for taking a peek!! Have a great day!
