Hello All...
Well here we are at mid-month and of course
that means it's time for a new challenge
at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.
And, the theme is:
Springtime
I had a lot of fun creating today's card ... what do you think?
Nothing says springtime like the birds singing in the trees!
So that was my first thought for today's card!
My main focus die is the fabulous Impressions Obsession 'Songbird' Branch.
I die cut my songbirds THREE times. Twice from the ivory card stock used for the card base, frame & sentiment panel and once from white card stock with I then colored using my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I glued the three panels together to create dimension.
My background panel is from the Penny Black 'Painted Blooms' paper pad. Did you know that Dies R Us now has more than just dies in their store? NO? WOW you really need to pop over and check out all the other goodies available and the prices are fabulous!!
For my frame and sentiment panels, I have used the Tutti Designs Scallop Stitched Nesting Squares
and the Tutti Designs Scalloped Stitched Nesting Rectangles.
I HAVE A CONFESSION TO MAKE!!!
I stamped my sentiment (Art Impressions) on the front of my card and before realizing it wasn't immediately dry, I smeared the words! OH NO now what am I going to do? Luckily I could stamp it again on the ivory card stock ... making sure it was dry this time by adding clear embossing powder and heat setting it. Then I die cut it with the coordinating design rectangle dies and covering up my boo boo! Whew! Thought I was going to have to start all over again! LOL
For the inside, I utilized the strip I cut from my designer paper as a backing (didn't want to waste it) and also used the panel left over from cutting out my frame for my sentiment.
You know what they say ... Waste Not, Want Not!
That was my motto today!
