Double D - Pick a Pattern

Hello Dear Friends!
It's time once again for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!
I'm hosting today and as you can see by my blog title ... the theme is
Pick A Pattern
(the PATTERN must be the focus of your creation)

Here's the mood board I've created to help inspire you . . .

I happen to love patterns of all types ... dots, strips, plaids ... so, this was actually a difficult challenge for me but I finally went with stripes and a color that I rarely use but love none the less ... orange!
Here's what I've created . . .

My striped paper is actually from my own Echo Park paper pack ... just happens to be the same paper pad that I'm offering for this challenge's prize.

We all love dots & stripes and one lucky winner will receive this awesome paper pad to add to their collection.

My card turned out totally different from what my original idea was and I'm very happy with it!
I started out by die cutting one of the Heartfelt Creations 'Regal Borders' panel and had intended on using the reverse side of this paper panel (orange & white) but then got the bright idea to overlay the scrolly panel at the top (lining up the strips) to cover the excess white space on my card base.  I think it gave a cool illusion.

I also die cut my Precious Marieke 'Condolence' cross twice ... once in white and once in black, then carefully overlaid them for an even more dimensional effect.

  4. J'avoue ne pas faire de carte de condoléances en scrap...
    Je n'y arrive pas.
Mais celle-ci est magnifique et colorée juste comme il faut.
    Félicitations Darlene.

I admit not to make a card of condolence in scrap ...
    I can not do it.
But this one is beautiful and colorful just right.
    Congratulations Darlene.
    Hugs.
