Very Sad News

Hello dear friends ...
I know a lot of you follow me on Facebook but for those who do not,
and notice I've been a little preoccupied or MIA, there is a good reason for my
absence.  Sadly, I lost my amazing Mom this past Sunday.

She was 1 month away from her 90th birthday and was doing quite well
but then all of a sudden things just went from bad to worse and we went from having
lunch together on Tuesday to my family all having to say good-bye to her on Sunday.

For anyone interested ... here is the obituary:

Thank you for all your thoughts & prayers!!

My deepest sympathies and may God Give you and your family strength to bear the loss. I know that it is very hard to lose a parent but sometime or the other we all face this grim truth. You sure was a very good daughter to her and think of the happy times you both shared. Be strong that is what your mother will expect from you. with love from Sri Lanka

  9. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I know your Mom will be sadly missed and especially so at this time of year when families all gathered together. But cherish the memories of all the good times you did share with her. I pray that the Lord will bring you comfort and strength for the future days ahead.

  15. Oh, Darlene. I'm so sorry to hear this. My mom also passed just shy of her 90th birthday. To have lunch on Sunday and say goodbye just days later is terrible. My sincere sympathies. I hope as a family y'all can get together to remember all the fun, funny and good times. Big hugs to you. [Bunny]

  17. Darlene,
I am so sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. I am so glad you got to have lunch with her before this happened what a gift that was! My heart goes out to you and your family may God give you a sense of peace through this sad time but remember too to rejoice for through her faith she is in a wonderful place now probably singing away. Big gentle hugs Lana

  18. My heart goes out to you and your family, Darlene. I lost my Dad on March 8th, 2 months shy of his 92nd birthday. He fell as he had a stroke and shattered his ankle. The stroke took out his left side. He went from the hospital to hospice to passing in 2 weeks. On the one hand, you know they've lived an amazing long life and have really just been waiting for it, but on the other hand, you are never truly prepared. Prayers and hugs, xoxox
