Hello Friends!
I hope you are all staying safe & healthy!
I had a request for some sympathy cards, and even though I still
had some available in my sale boxes, I wanted to make up
a few more since I'm not sure what this ladies is looking for exactly.
I went to Pinterest for inspiration and there was this design that caught my eye! Then I realized it was designed by my crafting friend Connie. It's back from 2018 but I was able to locate it and get a little more detail on how she created it. I decided to make one masculine and one feminine in color. Thanks so much Connie for wonderful inspiration!
What Connie had done was use a die to create a template then sponged in the color for the background. Easy and very effective. I will be using 'my template' for future cards and not only sentiment! I can think of several ways to create using a homemade stencil such as this!
The stamps I've used for the foreground images are very old and the sentiment comes from a Stamp Simply stamp set #SS-039.
For my last two cards, I used the same basic design but switched out the sentiments.
Once again I've created a template (stencil) for my circle using a die. After creating this first card I decided the circle was too large so I created another stencil using the next smaller die. I used a double matting on the first card but only a single on the second card. The focus floral image is an OLD wooden block stamp by Endless Creations and I've used different sentiments.
That's all I have to share with you today. Once again, please take care of yourself and stay safe. We aren't through this pandemic yet but I'm praying we are getting closer.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by!
As always . . .
Your cards are lovely. They have a quiet elegance about them which is what I look for in a sympathy card. I think this kind of card is absolutely the hardest to make and you have really created some beauties!
ReplyDeleteOh, my, these are some beautiful silhouette stamps and fabulous designs and colors! There's bound to be something she grabs up, probably all of it! Kudos to Connie for the inspiration. It's perfection!
ReplyDeletePerfect sympathy card designs. Just the right colors and wonderful sentiments.
ReplyDeleteThese are some really really nice sympathy cards, beautifully created and fabulous sentiments too, well done my friend!
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh when I first saw it I thought oh I have done that with mine and like that look for a sympathy card, then I started reading :) Thanks for the shout out.... Yours turned out just lovely, such pretty blending of the colors and I like them done with a circle too, such lovely sentiments in that set, I am sure she will find one she will love from these!
