Colorful Options - Red, White & Blue

It's time for a new challenge over on Colorful Options.

This month the color theme is Red, White & Blue and here's
a mood board created for your inspiration . . .

Remember, this is a MONTHLY challenge so you have until the 28th
at 8:00 pm (CST) to join in the fun.
Not a fan of the color Red, White & Blue?  Well then you have the option
of creating something in rainbow colors.

This is NOT just a CARD challenge, you can create anything you wish
as long as you follow the theme of the color Red, White & Blue or Rainbow.

 What inspired me today?
Well, of course, the 4th of July holiday!
Growing up we always had a big party on Independence Day!  My dad was a veteran and so we would always go to see the parade (were actually in the parade many years) and then a big party with all the vets and their families at our house since we had lots of property and fun things for the kids to enjoy!

One game I remember Dad always having for the kids was a big mound of sand with lots of pennies (and a few nickels, dimes & quarters) hidden inside that we kids would all be digging through to see how much money we could gather up!  Sounds weird but it was very exciting stuff back in the late 50s!  Towards the end of the day there was always ICE CREAM for all the kids ... so this paper really spoke to me! LOL

Product used today . . .

The Paper Studio 'Four Seasons 3' designer paper.

Tutti Designs 'Celebrate' word die.

As always . . .

  3. Gosh, I'm glad I stopped by today, Darlene! Your card is delightful and your story even more so. I can just picture the sand pile and the kids. I think kids would still get a kick out of something like that, but what do I know. It's been a while. My son's generation would love it. He's 47.
