Happy Friday Friends!
Today I've decided to play along in a sketch challenge. I love looking for a sketch that inspires me and then let the creative juices flow. Today the sketch challenge I chose is the one over on the Try A Sketch on Tuesday blog ... here's their fun sketch to create with:
I'm still in need of a few more Christmas cards for sending to friends & family so I thought this would make a pretty holiday card design ... here's what I came up with ... what do you think?
My husband is very generous with his contributions so we end up receiving holiday cards, etc from so many different organizations it's ridiculous! Of course, being a card maker I'm not going to use those cards so I give them to the kids to use so they don't have to spend the money buying more and these don't go to waste. I received a pack yesterday and this particular image really spoke to me so used it for the focus image of today's card.
The designer paper I used is from a very old (2015) Graphic45 paper pad called 'A Christmas Carol'.
Here are the products used:
Cottage Cutz 'Nested Wacky Stitched Squares' dies (#CCB-072)
Scrap man 'Holly Curl' die (#NY-84)
OLD Martha Stewart 'Icicle' punch
OLD Stampin' Up 'A Cardinal Christmas' sentiment stamp
I also recycled the inside verse from the contribution card ...

Nice winter scene used for your focal point and the corner flourishes are so pretty. Nice interpretation of our TSOT sketch, and you might be interested in sharing your card with our Sister Challenge at Double Trouble "Stitch It Up" as you met the stictching requirement of our Thing 1... hope to see you there.
ReplyDeleteDarlene, what a clever way to make use of holiday card packs you get each year! I love that wintery log cabin image and all the elements you used to anchor it. You used a stitched die, so that also makes you eligible to post on our sister blog, Double Trouble Paper Crafting at https://doubletroublechallenge.blogspot.com/2024/11/Challenge-180.html !! Thank you for sharing your cost saving technique with us at Try A Sketch On Tuesday!!! -Donna
