Where it all begins for me . . .

Hello friends and welcome back to my blog!

Over this past week I've been having fun creating various 'backgrounds' for my cards!   From the stenciled backgrounds for slimline cards that I shared here the other day, to today's fun backgrounds utilizing 3D embossing folders.  Talk about quick, easy & impressive!!!

Once again I've used our Rubbernecker penguin friends to
adorn the front of my cards, but this time I cut them apart and used
a couple on one card and one on another card.
But check out these embossed backgrounds ... so much texture and dimension!
LOVE THEM!!

My first card uses the Sizzix 3D 'Winter Snowflakes' (#662287)

The 3D embossing folder used on these two cards is also by Sizzix
and I purchased it through a (new to me online company) called CraftOnline USA
and the folder is called Folk Art Pattern

Sizzix 3-D TIEF - Folk Art Pattern by Courtney Chilson

I love how different it looks using a color card stock vs white!

I will have a few others to share over the next few days so be sure to stop back often!
But for now, I must get some housework done so crafting will have to wait.

Once again, thanks for stopping by and as always . . .

  5. Wowie, Darlene! These are all gorgeous cards with those amazing embossed backgrounds. Next to stamps and dies, embossing folders are my favorite thing and I don't use them nearly enough. I bought a new 3D folder from SU, but apparently you need a special plate. I made my own sandwich that works fairly well but thinking I might need that plate. Do you need anything special with these? Those penguins are adorable!

  7. These are terrific, I love them in both white and the dark blue, such great details in these folders, I love how you used the penguins on two different cards and that sentiment on the last one fits perfectly and goes great with the folder!
