Can You Handle The Pressure - Birds

Hello Friends, thanks for stopping by today!

We have a new challenge starting today over on our new Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge Blog and the TWIST theme is 'BIRDS'.  Remember, the twist is optional but you MUST use an embossing folder on our projects to qualify for the prize.  Heat embossing is also permitted but only in conjunction with an embossing folder.

Here's what I've created to inspire you today.

OMG ... this smaller embossing folder was one of the several I bought when I first started making cards.  I was using a Cuttlebug at that point in time ... my daughter had bought it for me for my birthday ... of course, I graduated to a Vagabond (second one ... broke the first) since those days.  Old shoulders don't like all that cranking any more either!  lol

Anyways, while going through all my embossing folders I spotted this cute bird folder and just knew I needed to make him the focus of today's card.  I've used a panel from Altenew 'Enchanting Washes' paper pack for my background.  The 'darker' strip panel is actually the reverse side of this 6x6 panel.  This is the portion I cut off for my A6 card so I decided to use it as an accent panel behind my bird.

My sentiment was Heat Embossed using black ink and Detail Clear embossing powder.

I do hope you'll come check out our new blog and play along.
AND yep ... we will be offering prizes at our challenges ... that's always a fun surprise!

Here's today's prize offering . . .

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,
I appreciate it more than you'll ever know!!

As always . . .

  1. I just LOVE this card so much. You have used that little embossing folder perfectly, it's how it is meant to be used. That color, that GORGEOUS panel and the background patterned paper all work so well together. And I love that the embossed element is white, really pops off the card!

  2. I too started with a cuttlebug but I don't think I have that embossing folder, so nice when we can get use out of our old goodies. I too am thankful for the electric machines. I love the papers you paired with your embossing, I like the darker strip with it!

  3. Oh, gosh, I have some very old embossing folders, too, and still love them. This little bird is so cute and embosses a very nice impression. A pretty card, Darlene! You know how I love my bird stuff. I'll have to see what I can do if I have time.

  4. I love that little EF, Darlene... and I love the way you used it in your wonderful creation. The white embossed panel looks wonderful against those lovely blue papers. I have a Spellbinders Platinum Plus now, but I still use my Cuttlebug all of the time. Just finally broke my original B plate the other day!
