Double D - Make Your Own Background

 Hello Dear Friends!

It's time once again for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!

Here's today's theme:

 MAKE YOUR OWN BACKGROUND

and here's an inspiration board created to help get you started . . .

There are so many different directions we can go with this theme!
I'm really looking forward to being inspired by my team mates and
all my other online crafting friends!!

Here's what I came up with  . . .

I created the sky & grass background using TH distress oxide inks and blending brushes.  The fence scene is a sticker from one of my last winter purchases ... a sticker book call The Harvest Time.

A few die cut clouds were added for extra dimension.

You'll want to be sure to pop over to the Double D Challenge Blog to see all the details and amazing samples offered up by our VERY TALENTED design team ladies!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hope to see you at Double D!

  As always . . .

TOB September Mid Month Reminder

 Hello Friends!

OLD BAT Darlene here to remind you we are half way through the month and you don't want to miss out on joining in the fun over on the Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge Blog.

I've created a card to help inspire you  ... what do you think??

I've pretty much let this beautiful Brutus Monroe paper do all the heavy work today.
I did add a Halloween sentiment rub on in the middle of the page and did a little manipulation with the upper left corner to bring more attention to the skeletal witch in the corner since THAT was my inspiration from the image in our mood board.

HOPE TO SEE YOU OVER AT THE TWO OLD BATS CHALLENGE!

Thanks for stopping by!

Can You Handle the Pressure - Twist - Layers

Hello Friends, thanks for stopping by today!

We have a new challenge starting today over on our new Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge Blog and the TWIST theme is ...

Layers

Remember, the twist is optional but you MUST use an embossing folder on our projects to qualify for the prize.  Heat embossing is also permitted but only in conjunction with an embossing folder.

Here's what I've created to inspire you today.

OMG!  I guess I didn't realize I had SO MANY awesome embossing folders that I could put together and create a 'layered' card since I have a variety of designs and sizes.   Some of these small & narrow folders I've had for probably at least 15 years and RARELY use them.  Today's theme made me 'think outside the box' and this is what I came up with.

I've used the following folders . . .
(Full background) Creative Expressions 'Fanciful flowers 3D Embossing folder by Sue Wilson

The three smaller folders are by Provo Craft - Cuttlebug (very old).
I matted the top three panels with black card stock just to make them stand out a bit more.

Challenges to share in:

Creative Knockouts Challenge #554 - Lots of Layers (ends 9/17)
As You Like It Challenge - Favorite: Layered or Flat (& why)
I love both designs but the layered look really appeals to be because of the dimension achieved when layering.  So much more for the eye to capture.  (ends 9/17)
Let's Craft & Create Challenge #223 - AG + Lots of Layers (ends 9/30)
Crafty Calendar September Challenge - Lots of Layers (ends 9/28)

I do hope you'll come check out our challenge blog and play along.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today,
I appreciate it more than you'll ever know!!

As always . . .

Birthdays at the Sisterhood

 Hello my friends!

Today I have a card for the new challenge over on The Sisterhood of Crafters!

Our theme today is:

Birthdays

WOW!  Talk about a quick & easy card!

I spotted a scrap of OLD balloon designer paper in my stash and I knew I had some balloon / birthday 3D stickers that I had purchased at Hobby Lobby last summer up on the accessories board so this card came together quite quickly.  Hope you like it!

Please come join in our challenge fun at The Sisterhood of Crafters!
My 'sistahs' have created some fabulous creations to help inspire you ...

Word Art Wednesday Guest Designer

 Hello friends . . .

Today I'm honored to have been asked to be their September Guest Designer over on the Word Art Wednesday Challenge Blog.  Thanks so much Karen & Company!!!

I had this card front sitting in my stash and thought it would work perfectly to help showcase this verse.  A gold metallic frame and some Prima flowers were all that was needed to finish it off.  I've used an OLD Spellbinder die set for the matting.

Word Art Wednesday blog always offers such beautiful scripture that you can actually grab and use for your own creations (sharing below).  On my card, you can see the words of wisdom for today.  Be sure to pop over and check 'em out.  Then of course come play along!

The sponsor this challenge is Trinity Stamps and they are
generously offering a $25 voucher.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Have a wonderful day!
As always . . .

Peace on Earth Challenge #95

Hello Friends and welcome back to my blog!
SO happy you stopped by!

Today I have a card to share for the new challenge over on the PEACE ON EARTH CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE BLOG.  Of course the theme is Anything Christmas and we hope you'll come join in the fun!

Here's a fun inspiration board we've created to help get you started ...

 Here's what I've created for you today . . .

... inspired by the colors and the baubles. I started today's card by creating my background using TH Distress Oxide 'Broken China' and 'Twisted Citron' inks.   Next I stamped my Inkadinkado 'bauble' wooden block stamp and colored the ribbons with Tombow markers.  A touch of water coloring was done on the bauble itself.

The sentiment die is by Sue Wilson (CEDME067) and the corner embellishment is a die by Jeannie's Art (#10026) called 'Winter Corner'.

PLEASE be sure to pop over to THE BLOG and check out the amazing designs our design team has created for your inspiration.  What a group of talented ladies!!  Then come join in the fun!!

As always ... thanks again for stopping by!
