Sisterhood of Crafters - Birthday or Fun Fold or Both

Hello my friends!

Today I have a card for the new challenge over on The Sisterhood of Crafters!

Our theme this time around is 

Birthday or Fun Fold or Both

(of course I went with BOTH lol)

What do you think??

 You might be surprised when I tell you who I made this card for!!!

Is it for a little boy who's like Fire Engines and dreams of being a fire fighter some day?

NOPE!

It's actually for my 28 year old grandDAUGHTER who actually is a fire fighter.  Although, at the moment the only 'fires' she's putting out these days are at home LOL.  Being a new mom is keeping her busy but she is keeping up with her qualifications & schooling so as not to fall behind.

 

 This was fun to make and didn't turn out too badly as I made it quickly (lost track of time ... yikes) and had to quickly get it in the mail for her the same day I made it!  

Anyways ... I really enjoy making these pop up cards and even tough I have dies from a couple different companies for this sort of project, my favorite is the Box Card Dies Set from Pink & Main.

 

Awhile back I purchased the Cheery Lynn Designs 'Fire Department' dies knowing I'd need them for both granddaughter Morgan and her husband Mark.    And before long, probably for Baby Charlie too!  LOL  He already has his own 'fire gear' ... they are a First Responder Family after all!!

Artsystamper Challenge - Springtime

Hello my friends!

It's time for a new challenge over on the Artsystamper Challenge Blog where the team is showcasing digital images designed by Beverly Cole at Artsystamper Digitals!   The 1st and 3rd Monday of each month brings another Artsystamper Challenge and today's theme is

For today's creation, I've once again, with the help of Microsoft Word10,  created this card front.  The sets I have put together today are:

Calming Calas

 

 Sketched Spring Blossoms

 Background paper from Wintry Paper Pack

Sentiment from California Poppies

(please ignore the white smudge looking spot ... it's actually a light glare on the glossy paper)  Once I have everything where I want it, I print it onto a piece of 4x6 Glossy Photo Paper.

A few little Nuvo white crystal drops and corner embellishments ... my card is ready for a sweet message inside then away it goes! 

 Once again, I can't tell you how quick & easy it is to create a digital card using these beautiful images.  I am just having SO MUCH FUN with them!!  Be sure to check 'em out!

Tutti Designs - A Rose is a Rose

Crafting my days away . . .

Hello Dear Friends!

Well we've made it through another week of isolation and I must say,

I am TRULY thankful to have my online crafting friends around me to help keep

my mind occupied.  

I've once again extended a challenge out to my Double D crafting buddies to play

along in another challenge this week.  So today we are joining in the challenge over

on the ADDICTED TO CAS CHALLENGE BLOG.

Now I must admit, CAS (clean & simple) is not my typical style but

lately I've been becoming very fond of this style since it is quick, easy & mailable.

Here's my card for today . . .

This adorable little puppy is a die from Frantic Stamper

called 'Oscar, Spot and Trixie'

I have several of these Memory Box 'Wrapped Stitched Frames' hanging

on my pegboard so grabbed a couple and glued them together for a little dimension.

My sentiment is a VERY old (circa 2001) Stampin' Up stamp.

Dies R Us Challenge - Spring Flowers

Hello Friends!

Here we are in the middle of April and that means it's time for another fun challenge over on the  Dies R Us Challenge Blog. Our theme today is:

SPRING FLOWERS

It won't be long before I will be outside planting and mowing!

YAY!  Can't wait ... I love Spring ... when all the flowers & trees awake from their winter sleep.

I originally had the planter box cut from white card stock (as you can see

by the sides of the planter box that are peeking out)

but the embossed panels didn't come out very well and didn't realize

it until I had it put together ... so I quickly die cut another panel, snipped

off the tabs and glued it over top of the white one.  

You can't really see it in the photo but the embossing came out better on

the darker panel but of course then I covered it up with my sentiment

die so I guess I should have just left it alone LOL.

I've used an old Darice brick wall embossing folder to create the

'wall' of my house then sponged over it with some Tim Holtz Walnut Stain ink.

 Don't forget to check out sister store in Canada . . .

Dies R Us now has a sister store with warehouses in USA & Canada called Didi Crafts.  

It will ship to both the US and Canada. Didi Crafts will carry some of the same products as DRU, but most will be different. Now our Canadian friends don't have to worry about huge taxes or shipping fees. How great is that!?!

Double D - Showers & Flowers

Hello Friends!

It's time once again for a new challenge over on the

Double D Challenge Blog.

I'm pleased to be your hostess today and we would like to see creations

 Here's the mood board I've created to help inspire you . . .

Here's what I've come up with . . .

I'm really pleased with how this card came together!

 I've used Mintay 'Together' designer paper and a few dies ... Viola!

The dies I've used are:

Sue Wilson - Necessities Collection - Rain Or Shine

Tutti Designs 'Nesting Stitched Rectangles' 

and the little row of flowers is an old (but favorite) stamp 

from Repeat Impressions and my 'rain drops' are also very old ... Cloud9 Designs Rain Dots.

Tutti Designs - Flowers for a Friend

Hello friends ... Happy Monday!

As promised, I have another card focusing on flowers for you using dies from the Tutti Designs Store.  I have a crafting friend who is having some health issues and I thought I'd make her a card to lift her spirits and since she loves Tutti Designs dies, I think she'll really enjoy receiving this one!!

The dies I've chosen to create with today are:

Easter Flower Basket

Easter Tulips

Friends

Here's a few tips on how this card came together . . .

To create my main focus image, I die cut the flower basket twice from white card stock.  I then glued one basket panel atop a scrap of golden yellow card stock and fussy cut around the basket portion.

The second white basket panel I colored completely with my markers and glued it atop the white panel.  This gave some distance and dimension on the basket portion of my die.

Next I die cut the Easter Tulips twice from white card stock and colored both panels.  I then placed one branch behind the basket handle and one in front.  By placing these flowers to the side, some of the flowers reached beyond the side edge of my card so I snipped them off and placed them on the left side of my basket to help tie it all together.
