Perfectly CAS Challenge #12 - Splash

 Hello Friends!

Today starts a new challenge over on the Perfectly CAS Challenge Blog.
Here's our theme for the month of February:

Now, I must admit, my mind went in different directions with this theme but I ended up making a center square template which I placed over my card front and then used a water spritz bottle and a couple Ken Oliver color burst splashes to create my focus panel.

My sentiment is a die from Penny Black which I die cut twice.  Once from the same color card stock used for my base card and a second panel from dark card stock so I could glue them together to create the shadow effect.

 WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Do you prefer seeing a white card photographed with a white background or a darker background?  I go back & forth on this decision ... hence today's post showing both!  LOL

I hope you will join in the challenge - just make sure you understand the rules.
For all the rules check out the 'How To Play' TAB under our challenge header.

The challenge is all about helping you stay
within 1/3 of your card to make sure it is CAS.

I look forward to seeing what you create.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
As always . . .

  1. Darlene, this mottled backdrop is simply stunning !! I love this mixture of colors that you have mastered so neatly with the frame, creating a beautiful colored square. Sentiment is perfect with a dark shade.
Both photos are beautiful, but I prefer the first photo with a white background, it has more depth :-)

  2. I'm always intrigued by this challenge. Its strict guidelines are a big help when it comes to making CAS cards. Not all CAS challenges are quite as strict, but I like the idea of one third. Your blue square is amazing and I love the die. It's a great thing to say to someone. As for the photo backdrop, I waver with mine, but as long as the white card doesn't get lost against the backdrop, I do like a light or white background. Photo props come in handy for helping it stand out, plus they're kinda fun if you've got the time (which is not always).

  3. I like just doing a small portion of the bursts! I think it looks great against the black background. Great sentiment with it!!
