Make The Cards Challenge - Color Challenge

Welcome back friends!

It's time for a new challenge over on  Make The Cards Challenge
Today we are having a color challenge.

Our Guest Designer today is:  Niki Coursey – Cardstoq

For my card, I simply gathered up the colors indicated in the sample then decided to cut them at an angle in an 'ombre' fashion for my base design.  I then used a sentiment I had laying on the work table from a previous order I was fulfilling and added a few flourishes.  By using the dark colors on the light ... and the light colors on the dark ... I think it pulled it together perfectly.  Hope you like it!

Remember, our challenge is weekly, so you have until 7 PM this Saturday to upload your creation into the Inlinkz over on the blog.

The dies I've used today are the Tutti Designs Scalloped Stitched Nesting Ovals

TUTTI-417 Scalloped Stitched Nesting Ovals

and an old Cheery Lynn Designs 'Leafy Flourish' (#B571) die set.

To my eyes, the color scheme looked blue so here is the first card I made . . .

then I read the description where it said 'Ombre PURPLE' ... duh!!!

Oh well, now I have TWO cards ready to send to someone who might be under the weather or dealing with Covid.  I'm praying today's post finds you HEALTHY!!

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun ... here's the link for you one more time ...

Make The Cards Challenge

 As always . . .

  1. Brilliant colours and love your design Sis. It could be either blue or purples, either way the cards are stunning. You are MY inspiration. xx

  2. Fabulous card Darlene. Great interpretation of the challenge. Tania

  3. The colors looked blue to me as well. You rocked the card and I love those oval dies!

  4. The sample square looks blue to me, too, but I guess it's that kind of in-between color, shades of amethyst, that always confuses me. I never know whether to file it in my purples or my blues. Oh, the trials of crafting, tee hee! Both cards look fabulous and now you're making me imagine all sorts of colors done this way!

  5. I so like the papers on an angle like that, pretty die cuts!

  6. WOW..!! Bothe cards are so cool..!!
You're so talented cardmaker. Take my virtual hugs, Darlane. :D

  7. Your cards are beautiful!! I love that you created an Ombre effect without ink! I think the flourishes are the perfect finishing touch!

Thanks for taking the time to leave me some love!
