Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge

Today over on Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge Blog ... Courtney has challenged us to an

INSPIRATIONAL PHOTO CHALLENGE

Here is the photo image for our inspiration ...

Is this cool or what?!?  BE SURE you pop over to the PPCC Blog today and check out what amazingly creative works were done by the design team.  It's always so much fun to see how DIFFERENTLY people interpret the same image ... today is no different ... YOU'LL LOVE IT!

Here's what I came up with ...

Obviously, my eye was drawn to the COLORS and that was the basis for my card.  Besides that, our sponsor today is none other than Stef Hughes

and I just loved her butterfly digi and the colors were perfect!  In my stash I found this little tag (7Gypsies) with colors that matched so of course I had to incorporate it somewhere on my card! PURPLE Stickles were used on the wings (Just for you Stef) and a little faux stitching was added on the tag for dimension.

PLEASE come join in the fun!!  I can't wait to see YOUR INTERPRETATION of this photo!  Have fun with it!!

Hugs,
Darlene

As you can see by the title of this posting ... I have some exciting news to share with you today and here it is!

I'm SO THRILLED to tell you that the awesomely talented, Stef Hughes ... GLITTERBABE  has asked me to be on her Design Team and help showcase her AMAZING digi images.  If you're not familiar, you can click on Stef's name to go to her blog or you can jump right over to her Art Store and check out all the wonderful images and sentiments she has available.   So without further ado ... here is my 1st Glitterbabe DT creation ...

This image is called "Sewing Basket" and can be found under the New Releases Tab.  I have used SU double stitched ribbon and Bucket 'o Buttons - buttons for my embellishments.  Along with scissors which is a stamp from the Crafty Secrets 'Sew Special' stamp set and sentiment from the same set.  My designer paper has been in my stash for quite some time and I 'think' it's paper pizazz but not exactly sure.

Before I forget ... please let me introduce you to the other members of the TEAM.

Thanks for stopping by today and sharing in my exciting news!!  I will be sharing more Glitterbabe's Digi creations with you every Tuesday.  And if I haven't shared enough inspiration with you ... be sure to pop on over to the BLOG where you can see more wonderful creations by my team mates!!

Happy Day,
Darlene

Just wanting to create . . .

. . . and share!

Today I have three cards to share with you.  Not for any particular reason other than hoping to inspire you as much as you all inspire me!

First is a card I made to cheer up my artist friend, Melanie over at *Wink *Wink Ink.  She's had some trouble with her MOJO lately and I just wanted to remind her of how amazing and fun her little images are for all of us.

On this card I have used TWO of Melanie's images ... Lucy and Spot.  I have brought them together using Word 7 and showcased them as though they were just hanging out in the livingroom waiting for their 'master' to get home.

* * * * *
Secondly is a creation made for a 'discussion' over on the Glitterbabe group of CDAC where you are to select ONE item from THREE different categories ... paper, embellishment & color.  The focus image is from Glitterbabe Digis and was so easy to create with.

My color choice was PURPLE ... embellishment choice was SATIN RIBBON and my paper choice is HOMEMADE using a script stamp and Tim Holtz distress inks.

* * * * *
Lastly is a card I made with my friend Jan (from Toledo) in mind.  Jan is fighting cancer for the SECOND time and I just wanted to create something PRETTY that would make her smile.  She is very much on my mind right now and I'm not sure at what stage of her treatment she is in and I fear she's not going to get through it as well as she did the first time around. Please say a quick prayer for my friend Jan ... God will know who you're talking about!

I have used Graphic45 designer paper to decorate the front & back of my card ... as well as the envelope flap.  The image is POPPY from Crafty Secrets and I've used SU watercolor pencils & blender pen for my coloring.  I wish you could see this in person ... it looks like tissue paper ... it came out so great ... I have neglected my watercolor pencils for quite a while now ... I think I'll be using them more now.  The vine panel was created using a Martha Stewart punch and I have placed a strip of matching cardstock behind the punched portions.

Thanks SO MUCH for stopping by today and I hope you have found inspiration in today's card!   Please remember to reach out and let those around you know how much you love them ... we never know how long we will be blessed with their presence!!

Hugs to you all,
Darlene

GLITTERY challenges . . .

Hello Everyone and Happy Monday to you!!

I have two cards to share with you today and I've gotten
a bit carried away with the Stickles!  LOL!!

First is my creation for the challenge over at GLITTERBABE'S CHALLENGE.  This week is an easy one ... ANYTHING GOES and I've chosen this lovely Heart Balloons Freebie Stephanie has offered for today's creation.  I decided to cut them out freehand, mat with black cs and recut.  My black background panel is embossed with a new Cuttlebug "Heritage" embossing folder I just received from Joan's Gardens . . . don't know if you can see that in the photo.  The "LOVE" sentiment comes from new Crafty Secrets stamp set called "Birdies at Home"I have outlined the hearts with red Stickles and accented with gold Stickles.

The Crafty Pad - Something NEW

Second card today is a "LOVE" creation using one of the latest *Wink *Wink Ink digi images for Valentine's DayThis sweet image can be used for other occasions too ... anniversary ... birthday ... get well ... you get the picture!

Isn't she adorable!!  I've used the PRECOLORED image in the set for my 'quick' card today.  I've added 'Tiara' Stickles to the balloon for added dimension & sparkle ... as well as a squiggley line along the bottom of the card front.  The heart embellishment was cut from a scrap of designer paper and popped up on dimensionals and my 'xoxoxo' ribbon is new from Michael's.  The background designer paper is from Making Memories and I've used my SU punch for the corners on the FREE *Wink *Wink Ink sentiment.

Don't forget . . . our FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY is still going on through the month of January and YOU could win free stamps ... NO CARD MAKING REQUIRED ... jump on over to our BLOG now for all the details ... or click the add located under the header of my blog for a quick link.

Other challenges this creation qualifies for are:

Secrets Crafter - with Love
Stamp, Scrap & Doodle - Anything Goes

Glitterbabe's Challenge

{Shew!}  I've been wanting to play the challenge over at Glitterbabe's and finally created for it late last evening!  Time is nearly up so I'd better get this posted quickly!!

This week's challenge (#10) is to FREE UP A FREEBIE.  That's right ... select one of Stef's awesome 'freebie' images and along with the SPARKLE ... have fun creating!!  Here's what I've come up with using Stef's Wheelbarrow . . .

I have used designer paper from the DCWV glitter sweet matstack and the gems are by Zva Creative.com purchased at Joan's Gardens on my trip last month to Indiana.  Of course my butterflies are from the Martha Stewart butterfly punch and I've added sparkle to their bodies by using portions of the gem swirls.  My adorable wheelbarrow image is showcased using Nestabilities Labels 14 dies and I've used Liquid Pearls for my faux pearl edging.  The little Garden Notes sentiment is from the Crafty Secrets Garden Girl stamp set and my coloring was done using Prismacolor markers.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Hope everyone in the paths of these storms is staying safe!  Last evening was a doozie ... never saw rain/hail fly sideways like that!  Yikes!  But, it's much calmer & cooler today!  You can certainly smell FALL in the air!  Happy Day Everyone!!

Hugs to ya!

My first time ...

... playing the challenge over at Glitterbabe's Challenge!  Today Stef has asked us to use some sort of STITCHING along with our GLITTER/SPARKLE/BLING!!
I have used one of Stef's own digi images although it was not required.  She offers freebies at her STORE to help you get familiar with her line of art and to be able to quickly join in on her challenges.  She's a VERY busy lady but always has the time to say Hello and compliment you on your art work!

I have used FAUX STITCHING and I've added Stickles Waterfall Blue to the medallion for sparkle and Icicle Stickles to the birthday cake also.  It is SO MUCH prettier & more sparkly IRL ... I really need some photography lessons!!!

Awesome fun ... hope you'll come check out Stef's blogs also!  Oh nearly forgot to tell you ... you can also find her over on CDAC ... HERE's A LINK to her group.  Thanks again for stopping by today!

Stay cool!  Darlene
