Love Those Pretty Papers August 2026 Challenge

 Hello Dear Friends

It's a new month and that means it's time for a new challenge over on our
LOVE THOSE PRETTY PAPERS blog.

Today, our OPTIONAL theme is

LOOK TO THE SKY
(Galaxy, Lightening, Sunshine, Stars, Clouds, etc.)

Diane & I will be sharing a Themed pretty paper card as well as an Anything Goes card.

Here's my card using today's THEME:

At convention (Adventures in Stamping) last year, I purchased several different paper packs offered by the Blue Knight Rubber Stamps company.  They are A2 in size and each pack has 5 cards each of 5 different designs.  I thought their Stormy Sky Set was intriguing so this is one of the background papers from that particular set.

I went to Pinterest and found a quote with the word Lightening in it then copy/pasted it to a Word document and printed it directly onto my background panel.

Now for my 2nd card (anything goes) ...

Once again I've used a panel from this same Blue Knight paper pack.
I wanted to use an imagine that was fun and encouraging ... hence this adorable Tim Holtz 'Crazy Dog'.  I've colored him with Tombow markers and popped him up.  I used Tombow markers that coordinated with the paper and embellished the outer edges of my card.  And, I computer generated the sentiment in a Word document and then printed it onto the designer panel.

I hope you've enjoyed what I created to inspire you today!  Please come join our fun and show us what you have created using pretty patterned papers.

Thanks for stopping by and as always . . .

Love Those Pretty Papers July 2026 Challenge

 Hello Dear Friends

It's a new month and that means it's time for a new challenge over on our
LOVE THOSE PRETTY PAPERS blog.

Today, our OPTIONAL theme is

COASTAL

Diane & I will be sharing a Themed pretty paper card as well as an Anything Goes card.

Here's my card using today's THEME:

Turning to my Mintay 'Seaside Escape' 6x6 paper pad made this card very quick & easy!  Mintay has so many scenic paper pads that you really don't need to add much more.  I did however use one of the cute little images that's offered in this pack just to add another layer of dimension & interest.  This card would be the perfect birthday card for a man or woman!

Challenges to share in:

The Card Concept 228A - Summer by the Sea - Inspired by the lighthouses (ends 8/31) #2

Time Out Challenge #316 - Photo Chlg (ends 7/8)  This card shows some things you might enjoy when you take some time out and go to the coast/shore/beach.

I Spy with my Little Eye #38 - Something by the Sea (ends 7/12)
The Paper Funday July Challenge #89 - ATG with Optional Twist: Summer Splash (ends 8/2)

Now for my 2nd card (anything goes) ...

The background purple panel is from an A4 paper pack by The Paper Boutique called 'Lavender Fields' and the pretty designer paper with I've cut at different angles and layered is from the Prima pack called 'Aquarelle Dreams'.   Little purple Prima flowers with Lavendar Nuvo drop centers finished off my creation.

   Prima - Aquarelle Dreams Collection - 6 x 6 Paper Pad

I've had this designer paper in my stash for quite some time and only today used it!  So pretty!  With purple being my favorite color, I have several paper pads of different purple patterns ... can't believe I've been overlooking this one!!  My Bad!!  LOL

Here's a close up of the sentiment which also came from that Aquarelle Dreams pack.

Love Those Pretty Papers June 2026 Challenge

Hello Dear Friends

It's a new month and that means it's time for a new challenge over on our
LOVE THOSE PRETTY PAPERS blog.

Today, our OPTIONAL theme is

PASTELS

Diane & I will be sharing a Themed pretty paper card as well as an Anything Goes card.

Here's my card using today's THEME:

Using OLD 12x12 designer papers as well as scraps of white card stock for the sentiment panel.
The sentiment comes from a Simon Says stamp set and I accented the panel with a smaller stamp from the same set and TH distress oxide ink.
I like how adding the little flowers in the corners really added a little 'something' to the otherwise stark panel.  What do you think?

A 12 x 12 sheet of designer paper will make six A2 size cards so that's what I did then divided them into packs of 3 for my sale boxes.

I was on a roll so I went through and selected sheets that I've had sitting around for a very long time and made a variety of cards.  Then I decided which ones to use for my four 'card set' categories ... thank you, thinking of you, just a note & sympathy.

Now for my 2nd card (anything goes) ...

I've had this background paper (the Paper Studio Kirby Teesdale Studio) in my stash for years as well as this image (no idea at this point where it came from ... was hanging on my accessory wall).   The 'wood' panel was in my scrap pile and the sentiment is a Tutti Designs die set.

Love Those Pretty Papers May 2026 Challenge

Hello Dear Friends

It's a new month and that means it's time for a new challenge over on our
LOVE THOSE PRETTY PAPERS blog.

Today, our OPTIONAL theme is

FANCY FOLDS

Diane & I will be sharing a Themed pretty paper card as well as an Anything Goes card.

Here's my card using today's THEME:

I found this center step card in my stash that I had started awhile back and figured today was a good day to complete it and send it to a friend whose favorite color is purple lol.

I remember the background paper was a sheet of 12x12 designer paper that I had picked up at JoAnn's (sure miss that store) years ago.  I die cut a Tutti Designs scallop stitched rectangle to use behind my Hearty Crafts 'Flowers in Watering Can' Topper.  I had ONE little piece left of this pretty purple lace so just had to use it.

Challenges to share in:

Creative Creases #115 - Fancy Fold (ends 6/4)
Color Dare Challenge #702 - Color Board (ends 5/14)

Now for my 2nd card (anything goes) ...

I definitely let this pretty paper do all the work on this card.  The paper is from the Paper Rose 'Christmas Holidays' 6x6 pack.  I simply added an Impression Obsession sentiment using India Ink (as this pretty paper has a smooth finish).

Love Those Pretty Papers April 2026 Challenge

 Hello Dear Friends

It's a new month and that means it's time for a new challenge over on our
LOVE THOSE PRETTY PAPERS blog.

Today, our OPTIONAL theme is

SPRING FLOWERS

Diane & I will be sharing a Themed pretty paper card as well as an Anything Goes card.

Here's my card using today's THEME:

I discovered a 12x12 pack of papers from Carta Bella in my stash that I believe was within a kit that I had purchased sometime over the last who knows how many years.  I opened it for the first time today and the papers are beautiful  with coordinating sentiment panels.  I didn't particularly care for what the sentiment said on this one but liked that it matched the paper so die cut Tutti Designs oval and stamped my own sentiment.

Now for my 2nd card (anything goes) ...

Using up more of my OLD 12x12 designer papers to create sets for my sale boxes.

Challenges to share in:

Cardz 4 Galz Challenge #273 - Spring Flowers (4/16)
Craft Rocket Challenge #135 - Layer it Up (4/30)
Fab'n'Funky Challenge #634 - Easter / Spring (4/16)

Love Those Pretty Papers March 2026 Challenge

 Hello Dear Friends

It's a new month and that means it's time for a new challenge over on our
LOVE THOSE PRETTY PAPERS blog.

Today, our OPTIONAL theme is

CIRCLES

Diane & I will be sharing a Themed pretty paper card as well as an Anything Goes card.

Here's my card using today's THEME:

Today I had fun playing with the old 'spotlight' technique onto this pretty P13 'Time to Relax' designer paper panel.  In the past when using this technique, I've always used white ink ... today I got brave and used purple.  The sentiment circles are dies from a Greetery set and the sentiment is from 'Inspired by Stamping'.

 P13 - Time To Relax Collection - 6 x 6 Paper Pad

Unfortunately, this pretty paper pack is discontinued.

A few coordinating prima flowers with yellow Nuvo crystal drop centers were all that was needed for embellishments.

Now for my 2nd card (anything goes) ...

Once again I'm dipping into my OLD stash and found this pretty paper pack called 'Pink & Blue Watercolored' but it doesn't have a manufacturer name on it.  The upper panel is actually the strip I cut from the panel used in my card above (waste not - want not they say).  Even though from a different paper pack, it has the same color base so grabbed it off the scrap heap long with the scrap piece of solid paper and created my decorative top.

The sentiment die is Cheery Lynn Designs (no longer in business) and I've used a Tutti Designs 'scallop stitched rectangle' die to back it.

I hope you've enjoyed what I created to inspire you today!  Please come join our fun and show us what you have created using pretty patterned papers.

Love Those Pretty Papers February 2026 Challenge

 Hello Dear Friends

It's a new month and that means it's time for a new challenge over on our
LOVE THOSE PRETTY PAPERS blog.

Today, our OPTIONAL theme is

POLKA DOTS

Diane & I will be sharing a Themed pretty paper card as well as an Anything Goes card.

Here's my card using today's THEME:

I decided to use polka dot papers from both the Echo Park Dots & Stripes (yellow) pack and the Scrapbookcustoms.com Rainbow Plaid (blue ) paper pack to create the background, after choosing to use this pretty hummingbird topper from the Hearty Crafts 'Hummingbirds (HC12970)' 3D Topper pack

Here's a peek at the inside:

A Tutti Designs 'Scalloped Stitched Rectangle' die was used as the matting panel behind this pretty topper.  The sentiment is a stamp & die set from the TON.

Now for my 2nd card (anything goes) ...

I don't like finding lady bugs in my house but I sure had fun creating this cute Z-fold card using the lady bug papers from Echo Park called 'Little ladybug'.   Tutti Designs 'Stitched Scallop Rectangle' dies used for inside panel.  I make so many 'regular' cards that 'It Makes Me Happy' to create something 'off the beaten path' such as this z-fold card.  I should do more like this.

 Alphabet Challenge  - U is for Up-Lifting (2/20)

Love Those Pretty Papers January 2026 Challenge

 Hello Dear Friends

It's a new month and that means it's time for a new challenge over on our
LOVE THOSE PRETTY PAPERS blog.

Today, our OPTIONAL theme is

SNOWMAN
.

Diane & I will be sharing a Themed pretty paper card as well as an Anything Goes card.

Here's my card using today's THEME:

I let the Echo Park 'White Christmas' 6x6 paper pack do the heavy lifting for today's card.
All the papers and including the sentiment panel came from this paper pack.
The only thing extra I did was to die cut a few snowflakes for embellishment.

This is an older paper pack that I purchased during one of their fabulous sales so not sure if it's still available for purchase.  But they have several fabulous other holiday packs still available.

Now for my 2nd card (anything goes) ...

Using up some OLD 12x12 designer paper to create some 'card sets' for my sale boxes.

After stamping the Simon Says sentiment from scraps of white card stock, I decided to add & watercolor this Altenew floral stamp image.  I think it adds just that little 'something'.

Love Those Pretty Papers December 2025 Challenge

  Hello Dear Friends

It's a new month and that means it's time for a new challenge over on our
LOVE THOSE PRETTY PAPERS blog.

Today, our OPTIONAL theme is
SANTA
.

Diane & I will be sharing a Themed pretty paper card as well as an Anything Goes card.

Here's my card using today's THEME:

The background paper is from an OLD (circa 2010)  Graphic45 8x8 paper pad called 'Christmas Past' and my Santa image actually comes from a Paper Rose 12x12 sheet from their 'Christmas Time' pack.

I double matted the Santa image and added a gold glitter poinsettia as my embellishment.
VIOLA

With all the beautiful papers out there, it's quick & easy to create a beautiful holiday card such as this!

Now for my 2nd card (anything goes) ...

While making tissue box covers for a recent craft show, I decided to use the scraps and create some background panels.  Love how this one came together along with an image from one of my holiday designer paper packs.  Easy peasy but I think looks VERY festive.

Here are a few of the backgrounds I made that day  . . .

I hope you've enjoyed what I created to inspire you today!  Please come join our fun and show us what you have created using pretty patterned papers.
