Kids Card Kits

A short while ago, during a 'card class' ... one of my cousins asked if I made 'card kits for kids'!  Hmmm ... I hadn't thought of that but told her I'd be willing to make some up for her grandkids and here they are.

 (finished product - 5 different cards - 5 categories)

My first attempt is for the "Age 4 - 8" kids.  I've used digi images from Delicious Doodles for this set.  Teri has some adorable images and they'll be great for the kids to color.

Each set includes FIVE different cards, individually packaged in card sleeves with all pieces needed for that particular card and a printout is included at the back of the pack, showing what the finished cards look like.

In this set, the categories are: Birthday, Thanks, Be Happy, Christmas and Just for You.  Some cards also have an image on the inside that can be colored. (ie. the bee)

 These were super fun to make and I hope the kids enjoy them!  It did take me longer than I thought it would ... I think I'll get faster when I make the next THREE sets for GIRLS age 10-13.

Joan Gardens Challenge

WOW I can't believe I have "MISSED" doing the last TWO challenges over at Joans Gardens!  (sad face) ... But I did it TODAY!!

This week's challenge is as follows:

1. Create a Window card  (Create an opening on the front of the card to see the image stamped inside.)  

2. Use Christmas Ornament - or something similar

3. Some thing Gold

4. Something fuzzy

The Sisterhood Challenge is honoring ...

BIRTHDAYS today with our creations!!

Hello again my friends!  Our hostess today for The Sisterhood Challenge is Micki and she's requested we create our cards/projects with birthday's in mind.  Here's a CAS (clean and simple) creation I made using designer paper and a sentiment.

 The addition of a little grosgrain bow (made using the Bow Easy) and paper piercing in the corners of the sentiment is all the embellishment this card needed!

Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge

WOW, here we are at mid-week again already!!  We are fortunate here in N.E. Ohio to be enjoying 'indian summer'.  The sun is shining and the temperatures are in the 60s!  Perfect for those last minute outdoor cleanup jobs before the snow & cold weather sets in!!

Our challenge today at Penny's Paper-Crafty Creations is to ALTER SOMETHING and we're honored to have Stampin' Dragon Designs as our sponsor for today's challenge!!!

BEFORE

A while back, I began saving my extra Nestabilities cut pieces in these empty Scotch Double Sided tape boxes.  They were the perfect size to fit under my ribbon racks and placed the extra pieces at my fingertips.  PROBLEM IS, I can't  remember which shape is in which box and they didn't look very pretty!  Hence, my thought of altering these boxes using various scraps of designer paper and Creative Memories sticker letters (sitting in my scrapbooking stash).

  AFTER

 Now these handy boxes are not only pretty ... but at a glance I know which one to pull out and look through for the particular shape I'm looking for on my project.

I have realized lately that there are MANY items in my 'crafting cave' that would look much better if I would take the time to do a little ALTERING!!   What do you have to alter ... look around ... doesn't have to be a BIG project ... could be a box like these to hold various small objects ... could be an empty soup can altered to hold your pencils/markers ... well, you've got the idea!  I'm looking forward to seeing what you create!    Need more inspiration??  Pop on over to the PPCC and check out what my team mates have created to help you out!!

Crafty Secrets Challenge - CSSC145

More Challenge Fun . . .

Good Evening All!  

Here's another challenge I've been wanting to get involved in!  It's the challenge over at Pattie's Creations Design Challenges.  This is their third challenge and they're now switching to a weekly format!  How much fun is that going to be!!  Today's challenge is to create a Christmas Card or Project.

I have used Pattie's digi image called "Pattieboop's Ice Skates".    This particular image is actually one of Pattie's Freebies.  I've used the SKETCH for this week's challenge over on Stamp Something.  I really thought this layout would showcase Patti's ice skates perfectly and I'm very happy with the outcome! 

The recipe for this creation is as follows:
Papers: Basic Black, Whisper White, Graphic45 (Christmas Past), American Traditional Designs (Snowflake Sky)
Image: Pattie's Creations
Accessories: Nestabilities classic circles, Fiskars swivel craft knife, Kaiser half pearls, glue pen, Glamour Dust 

This was such a wonderful layout and I'm sure I will be using it again very soon!  I thought you  might like a closer look at the sparkle on the skate ribbons.

Delightful Inspirations Challenge

Hello my friends!  I hope you're Monday is a sunshiny one like mine is!!  It seems this week we're going to have "Indian Summer" so I'll be outdoors trying to get everything 'finished up' before the snow flies.  BUT today, I'd like to share with you a creation I've made for a challenge blog I've been long wanting to participate in!

The challenges over at Delightful Inspirations are unique ... in that they offer a FREE DIGITAL STAMP OF THE MONTH as a part of their challenges.  So as not to confuse you, you can find all the details HERE.   

This months image is perfect for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.  It's called "Harvest Basket" .... and you can find this image and MANY, MANY more at Designed2Delight Digital Stamps.  Here is the creation I've come up with!

I've made a gate card using SU rust cardstock and the designer paper is by Debbie Mumm sold through JoAnn's  I've used Prisma color markers for my coloring and Nestabilities classic & scallop circles for my matting.  A little purple Stickles was also added to help pull out the color of the eggplants in the basket.

By printing & coloring the image twice, I was able to pick & choose the images I wanted to cut out and pop up for more dimension.  Below is a side view so you can see I have popped up the pumpkins and the one ear of corn.

This was a fun card to make and even more fun to color!  I look forward to playing more D2D challenges.  They also have a Designed2Delight Digital Stamps Group over on CDAC (Crafter's Digital Art Center) if you'd like to check them out there too!

Craft Show Fun and an UPDATE . . .

Happy Sunday to you all!

First please let me set some minds at ease with an update on my husband, Mark's Kidney Cancer Testing which has been going on over the past couple of months!  I'm THRILLED to say that we FINALLY got the good news last Thursday and all biopsies came back NEGATIVE!!   PRAISE THE LORD!!!  I still don't understand why they make you wait SO LONG for test results sometimes ... sure keeps you on pins and needles!!  But when we didn't hear anything within the first week, we went on the thought "NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS" ... and it was!!!  

ALSO ... please note an update at the top of my blog on Maria!  Thanks so all of you who have taken the time out of your busy schedules to send cards to either myself or my daughter for Maria.  These have been sent along to her and have certainly helped in keeping her spirits up!!  

PLEASE, if you could find it in your heart and can take a few moments out of your busy schedule  ... we would love to continue showering Maria with cards!!  Having a broken back AND cancer, needless to say, she's unable to do much for herself.  Thankfully, her family, friends & neighbors have all been pitching in on the meals & housework.  Her husband has even rearranged the sunporch so that Maria can gaze out upon her gardens and watch the birds while having to spend so much time in bed!  Thanks in advance for anything you can do to help this beautiful lady in this trying time!

*********   CRAFT SHOW NEWS *************
WOW what a busy couple of week's I've had in preparation for yesterday's craft show.  It was GREAT and WOW ... SO MANY PEOPLE came out despite the cold, snow spitting weather!  There are probably somewhere around 200 vendors at this show and this is my 2nd year participating!  We didn't do GREAT but we covered our expenses & made a little extra cash too ... actually pretty good I thought!!  And, we picked up some wonderful suggestions from customers that we'll certainly put into place for next years show!

My friend Terri Snode (Terri's Cards 'N More) shared in the craft show fun with me this year.  We tried to NOT do the same projects which gave us more to share with people and helped us see what sold the best.

 (This is ME ...)

As you can see in the photo, I use "media" boxes to display my individual cards (works very well).  Each card is in a clear sleeve with an envelope and if there is a sentiment in the card, it is also identified on the back of the sleeve.  

Here are some of the items we offered yesterday:

• Individual cards
• Boxed sets of Note cards, All Occasion Cards, Christmas Cards
• Post-It Note Holders 
• Altered Note Pad Booklets
• Money/Check Holders (Holiday or Birthday)
• Large Gift Card Holders (A-2 card size)
• Small Gift Card Holders (Credit Card size)
• Decorative Boxes ... empty or filled with holiday ornaments
• Taking orders for Monogrammed Note Cards

Those in RED are what sold the best!  I was amazed that we did NOT sell ONE boxed set of holiday cards and Terri had some BEAUTIFUL sets made up!!  You just never know what people are looking for!!

I was going to make a Christmas card but then thought ... wow, how cute would this be for some "little tikes" birthday!  The designer paper is from DCWV Nana's Nursery pack, sentiment is JustRite, border punch is Martha Stewart and the Michael's ribbon/bow was made with the Bow Easy.

Sugar Creek Hollow Challenge

HAPPY AFTERNOON TO YOU!!

I have been wanting to play the challenge over on Sugar Creek Hollow for a very long time and finally, today, I took the time to do just that!!  This week's challenge is to use LACE on your creation along with one of their images (and they have some awesome images!).  I happened to have a couple of images they offered up over on CDAC (Crafter's Digital Art Center) so that's what I chose to use.

I just thought this image was so clever and I wanted to make a couple of cards using it for the upcoming craft show I'm a part of this weekend.  I think it will be snapped up in a jiffy!! (Be sure to click on the image to enlarge ... so you can read the words!)

I have used a 'copper' metallic paper for the background scallop circle as well as the photo corners.  The Kaiser pearls are also copper colored and were purchased at Joans Gardens.  A Wilton's paper doily helped showcase this beautiful digi along with DCWV dp and Wrights Lace trim from the sewing department of JoAnn's.  I wished my photo really showed how pretty this card really is!!!

Now that you've seen my card for the challenge.  Here's another image from Sugar Creek Hollow that I thought was really clever and turned it into a CAS creation to add to my stash for the craft show!

How clever is this digi!!  I simply rubbed Pan Pastel Artist Chalk over the front of the image with my finger then inked the edge with Old Olive SU ink.  I also added Gold Stickles around the black lined border of the image as well as around the outside parameter of the Graphic45 background.

A very easy, CAS (clean & simple) creation that looks awesome (my opinion of course! LOL).

If you're not familiar with Sugar Creek Hollow you really need to take a moment and pop over!  The DTs work is AMAZING and Tracey is a BEAUTIFUL ARTIST!!  Their work will definitely INSPIRE you!!

The Sisterhood Challenge

It's Wednesday and that means it is time once again for a challenge over at The Sisterhood!  Today Terri is our hostess and her theme is a SISTERS CHOICE.  Terri's choice is for us to create a "fall card and use leaves in the design".  Here's what I've come up with.

The "leaf" panels used on this card are from K&Company and the papers are scraps (of which I have a huge pile) and the border punch is Martha Stewart.

Midnight Madness & Crafty Secrets

Good Morning Everyone!  

Is your day going to be as busy as mine??  

With that being said, I'll make this fast!  I have combined the sketch from today's Midnight Madness Challenge with today's SCS Crafty Secrets Forum Challenge to use "My Favorite Things". Remember, over on the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge, there are TWO sketches available to you . . . one that is Clean & Simple and one that is FANCY!   How awesome is THAT idea!!

FLOWERS, LACE & STICKLES.  I don't do well with GLITTER (get it EVERYWHERE!) so I turn to Stickles for my added sparkle!  My image is the new Crafty Secrets Clear Art Stamp set called "Rose".  All three images come from this one set!

It's Squigglefly Fun Time . . .

Happy Monday Everyone!  

Can you believe it's already NOVEMBER 1st!  

WOW, where is this year going!!  

Hope your Halloween weekend was fun!  We had a GREAT time and saw some AMAZING costumes at our front door!  We live in a cul-de-sac and our one neighbor invited everyone over for pizza & snacks before trick-or-treat started!  How nice to take the time to catch up with everyone before all the ghosts & goblins showed up!!  I'm sure this will become a annual event ... maybe next year we'll be the ones to host it!

Anyways, onto today's card!  I'm on Kim Rhead's DT group over at Squigglefly and this week she has challenged us to create a card w/detachable bookmark!  I must admit this was a NEW TECHNIQUE for me and I loved how it came out!  You can find the directions HERE if you'd like to give it a try.  (it calls for a special machine for the perforating, but you don't need it)

For my creation, I have used Basic Grey Jovial holiday paper, Nestabilities classic & scallop ovals, and Prismacolor markers for my coloring.  The "Kris Kringle" image is one of my favorites and it's by Marla Shega.

Here is a view of the card partially opened so you can see how it looks with the bookmark attached.  The same designer paper was used for my bookmark but I chose to use a different image.  This is one of Inger Harding's images called "Old Fashion Lady Skating".

A Stampin' Up grommet was added by using the Crop-a-dile for the ribbon tab.

Delicious Doodles Day

Happy Friday Everyone ... are you ready for Halloween weekend??  We usually get around 200 kids in our neighborhood and some of them really go "all out" with their costumes and of course the little ones are always so adorable!!

Today I'd like to share with you a couple creations using Delicious Doodles Digi images.  Have you checked out the new DT Blog for Delicious Doodles??  This team is amazing and unique ... I'd LOVE for you to pop over!!  ALSO ... keep watching ... we're talking about starting our own CHALLENGES ... how cool is that!  I will keep you posted with any new information!!

This creation is called "COMING HOME" and can be found along with MANY OTHERS at Teri's Delicious Doodles Shop.  Please be sure to stop over, look around and I'm sure you'll find a few lovelies you just can't live without!!  The image is black/white and I have used make-up applicators and chalk for my coloring. Faux stitching was done for a little added accent and the sentiment is by JustRite.

And my second creation uses this lovely "POINSETTIA FAIRY" and is coloring using Prismacolor Markers.  I wish you could see the 'sparkle' better in my photo ... maybe if you click to enlarge you can see it better.  I've used Deco Art Glamour Dust on the wings and around the accent of her bodice ... as well as Diamond Stickles on the Poinsettia centers.
