More Birthday Cards

 Hello Friends and Happy Weekend!

Here are a couple more birthday cards I created using the Easy 3D Topper with Glitter paint from Hearty Crafts images that I picked up at the Adventures in Stamping Convention here in Akron, Ohio in the spring. 

 I have used an older Memory Box stencil (#88574) for my background and inside coordination.

A very CAS design style but I wanted the focus on the layered floral elements.

Layered Images

 Hello Friends and Welcome Back!

I'm still busy working on cards for a couple upcoming craft shows but thought I'd take a quick minute and play in a few challenges.  This card I thought fit well for the Crafty Catz Challenge  (10/28) - Anything Goes twist/add layers.

This is another Easy 3D Topper with Glitter paint from Hearty Crafts that I picked up at the Adventures in Stamping Convention here in Akron, Ohio in the spring.  

I've used the Autumn Layering Stencil by Tim Holtz for the background and the sentiment stamp is by Inkadinkado.  TH oxide distress inks were used for my stenciling colors.

Using my The Greetery 'Shiplap' die set, I have created this birthday card perfect for any guy on your birthday list. 

A happy birthday die in white was all that was required to finish my project.  Talk about quick & easy!

Double D Challenge - Sunflowers

  

Hello Dear Friends!

It's time once again for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!

I'm happy to say I am hosting today's challenge and our theme is:

 

 SUNFLOWERS

 

and here's an inspiration board I've created to help get you started . . .

 

 An easy peasy card that packs a punch when you just want to let someone know that you are thinking of them!  I'm using an old Sparkle N Sprinkle stamp set called 'Thinking of You' and coloring was done with Tombow markers.  The sentiment is also a stamp from the same set and I've used Tutti Designs scalloped stitched circle & rectangle dies for my panels.

It's PARTY time 2021 . . .

 

 Hello Friends!

Sorry I've been a little preoccupied recently, but this year in lieu of our annual Neighborhood Christmas party (which we totally cancelled last year due to Covid) we decided to have an Octoberfest in our backyard.  We felt our friends/family might feel safer with it being outdoors even though it was a bit chilly & drizzly.  

The first photo shows everyone that was there at the time of picture taking ... a few more came in after that ... so we had a wonderful turn out.  Here's  a photo of just the neighbors . . .

We had PLENTY of food & drink to share ... here's the menu:

• Sauerkraut with various sausages & hot dogs
• Pierogies & onions 
• Mark's Famous Chili
  
• Buffalo Chicken Dip w/Scoops
• German Potato Salad
• Fresh Mixed Fruit
• Linguini Salad made with Pumpkin Shaped Pasta
• Hummus & Pita Bread (thanks Hala)
• Pepperoni Roll (thanks Lona)
• Meat & Cheese Platter w/various crackers

We had two sets of Corn Hole set up if anyone wanted to play.
Had the Solo Stove burning to help take the chill off and lots of places to sit and just 'catch up'!

 

I was so thrilled to have my 'kids' here!  It's an hour drive for my daughter & SIL ... about the same for my grandson Jon, Destany & 5 month old Great Grandson Landen and it's a TWO hour drive one way for Granddaughter Morgan, hubby Mark &  2 year old Great Grandson Charlie.  It truly made my day to have them all here!!

 I think everyone had a good time  ... at least they said they did!  LOL
How blessed are we to have such wonderful family, friends/neighbors!

After everyone headed home, Mark & I decided to sit and enjoy a little quiet time around the fire before heading into the house to do 'after party clean up'.  It was such a clear, beautiful night!

The end to a PERFECT DAY!

Now it's time to get busy making sure I have everything I need (which I know I don't) for the two upcoming crafting shows I'm signed up for the first two Saturday's in November.

I have so many Christmas stamps & dies, I could make a dozen cards for each challenge and still not use all the products I have!  (I don't think I'm the only one that can make this statement!  lol)

Anyways, I've dove into some older dies & stamps to create today's card using

Stampin' Up - Merry Christmas stamp

I started by sponging Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks onto a panel of white card stock then spritzing with water which was dabbed dry to create my snowy background.  Though difficult to see in my photo, I have torn white card stock and place it below my neighborhood border to create mounds of snow.

VIOLA!

Today starts a new challenge over on the Perfectly CAS Challenge Blog. 
Here's our theme for the month of October:

 

 Two stamps were used on today's creation and a little watercoloring to highlight ... quick & easy and says it all.  The Crosses stamp is an old DRS Designs wooden block stamp and the sentiment is from another old set, this time from Stampin' Up.

Two Old Bats Mid Month Reminder

I have used striped paper from the Pink & Main 'Not Too Spooky' Paper pad and my image is a rubber stamp from Rubbernecker Stamp Company called 'haunting cat' (I don't see where it's available any longer ... sorry!)  The googlie eyes I've had in my stash for years.

Make The Cards Challenge #37

 

 Welcome back friends!

It's time for a new challenge over on  Make The Cards Challenge.

Today we are having a theme challenge ...

 

So, how do you like my witch?  Creepy huh!  LOL

There are lots of cool images out on Pinterest and when I spotted this one I knew it was what I wanted to use for this weeks theme!   By printing it onto Glossy photo paper it really looks cool!  I printed it out onto 4x6 photo paper then used one of the extra frames I had 'hanging on the hook' to bring attention to both the witch & the cat's eyes!

My sentiment was computer generated then I used a Sue Wilson 'Stitched Flags' die to cut out the shape.   I have an entire container of googly eyes ... hence my embellishment idea.

More Foils . . .

 HAPPY MONDAY ALL!

I have a dentist appointment this morning (just a cleaning ... no biggie) but before I go I wanted to share a couple of cards I created yesterday while Mark was watching football.

I've once again pulled from my stack of Foil Stackables to create these cards and this is the sheet I worked from . . .

I really LOVE how these 2 came together!  Now all I need is to add a sentiment to the inside and they are ready to send.  I have a few packs of beautifully finished paper that I bought a long time ago from a company that is no longer in business ... in fact, I think the lady passed away (so sad), but I think of her every time I reach into my drawer of fancy/shiny papers. The company was called Classy Cards n Such and this particular pack is called 'Stardream Emerald'.

The only additions to both of these cards is the Memory Box Frame
and the Martha Stewart icicle punched element.  Everything else came from the foil sheet.

Our neighborhood Octoberfest (which we are hosting in lieu of our usual Christmas party) is this coming Sunday so I'm sure I'll be busy with food & party prep but I'll still try to make a little crafting time in between.  Fingers crossed the weather cooperates as it will be held outdoors.
