Hello my dear friends!
Today I'm sharing a card created for the new challenge over on the Dies R Us Challenge Blog where the theme is:
Something **NEW**
Now this could be a new baby, a new home or in my case, NEW DIES!
The **NEW** dies I have used are:
and sentiment from an older die set ...
I love it when you can use your dies in more ways than one as I have today with this Penny Black 'Birds on a Wreath' die. As you see in the image above, the die is more for the holidays with the two bells hanging down from the top. But, I decided to turn mine into a more 'everyday' wreath by snipping off the bells. Then coloring my birds in happy springy colors.
TIP: You could also snip off the top bird and sit him down on the bottom with the other bird for yet another variation using this same die.
Be sure to pop over to the Dies R Us Challenge blog and see the amazing
designs from the design team. Then, come join in the fun! You
have until January 28th to share your project!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful! This definitely makes me think Spring!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this card, Darlene! Your sun rays behind it make the perfect background and with the wreath layered onto it, it's gorgeous! I'm beginning to hate challenge days because I always end up with a huge list of dies for my wish list ! ha ha
ReplyDeleteOh, gosh, you could do so many things with this Ray of Light die, but just look at all three and how beautifully you combined them! Oh, how I love the bird wreath, with or without the ornaments. You are not good for my craft budget, Darlene!
ReplyDeleteYour card is so cheerful especially on this grey Minnesota day! The rays of sunshine made me smile, and I love the pretty wreath..great idea!
ReplyDeleteLove how you made the die more versatile. I love doing that too. The ray background is perfect for the wreath and the sentiment.
ReplyDeleteOh, what a lovely card, Darlene! Looks like a perfect card for spring! I'm hoping for an early spring, but we are due for more snow again this weekend. Anyways, love the wreath, birds and wonderful Sue Wilson die! A great card to brighten anyone's day!!
ReplyDeleteThis is darling! What a clever way to extend the use of your dies too. This card is sure to brighten anyone's day!
ReplyDeleteLove how you have used that ray die with the wreath. I love that you cut off the bells so you can continue to use it after Christmas, I need to look back through my dies and see what I may be able to use for more than one holiday or season :) Your coloring of it is just fantastic, the sentiment fits perfectly inside!
ReplyDeleteYAY, a breath of Spring!! So pretty and colorful, just what we need with these gloomy/cold days. A great combination of all the dies, too!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a happy card. Love the rays of sunshine - will definitely brighten someone's day. Hugs, Lena
