Sisterhood of Crafters - Fancy Folds

Happy Day All!
It's time once again for a new, fun challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters!
Today, Terri is our hostess and she has asked us to create a card using one of those fabulous

FANCY FOLDS

If you follow my blog, you have seen several fancy folds lately ... and here's another one (or two).  I have several Fall Craft Shows coming up and everyone loves the WOW factor of these unique folds.  So, this challenge theme was right up my alley!

Today's card is another Tri-Shutter creation ... this time in MY favorite color of Purple!
Purple has become very popular and so I thought it would make for a good birthday card. This fold has become one of my all time favorites and if you've never given them a try ... now's the time!  They really aren't as hard as they look!  You can find the directions for it on one of my earlier blog posts HERE.

I hope you'll give a Fancy Fold card a try and then come share them with us over at the Sisterhood!  We are always looking to you for inspiration and now's the time to really SHINE!
If YOU need more inspiration ... pop over to the Sisterhood and check out the awesome creations shared by my Sistahs and Step Sistahs ... F-a-b-u-l-o-u-s!

You have until September 7th (midnight EST) to get your entry submitted
AND
we have a prize to offer this challenge ... yippee!
Thanks Annemaritta!

It's Tea Time ...

Hello my friends!
Hope your Thursday is off to a great start!
I discovered I had a 'free' blog day today, so I decided to join in one of the challenges that has always inspired my 'vintage side'!  And, that is the Shabby Tea Room Challenge Blog!
This is their photo inspiration ...
and, we are to use Pink, Black, Pearls and Flowers on our creations.

I hope you're not tired of seeing Tri-Shutter (fancy fold) cards from me because there are several I need/want to create for my upcoming Fall Craft Shows and by playing the challenges using this fold, it just helps me be that much further ahead of what I'll be needing!

MY TRI-SHUTTER PHOTO TUTORIAL CAN BE FOUND HERE!

So here ya go ... my creation for the challenge is 'another' tri shutter fold creation ... hope you like it!

I have several tri-shutter card bases cut/scored and it just so happened there was a light pink one in the stack ... so THAT was my starting point.  All product used on this card will be shared at the end of my post.  I have had this Elizabeth Craft (#714) teapot/cups die set for quite some time now and today they just screamed out for me to use them.
They are actually an 'outline' set so once I die cut them on Pink Pirouette paper, I glued them down to a piece of black cardstock using E6000 spray adhesive and fussy cut them out with my Fiskars swivel craft knife.  There is probably a matching 'solid' die set ... I really need to look into that!  LOL!

I really like how the Eucalyptus Stickles pops on these die cuts ... so pretty IRL!
I hope you've found a fun challenge to join in today to express YOUR style!
I must have an OLD SOUL because Vintage design really speaks to me!

Hopefully I can find some other fun challenges to share my card in today ...
Just Inspirational Challenge - Pearls and Lace
Card Mania Challenge - Birthday Party
Whoopsi Daisy Challenge - Fussy Cutting
Little Red Wagon - Happy Birthday
Scrapper's Delight - Anything Goes with Die Cuts

Lots to get done so I'd better make this short & sweet!
Have a wonderful day and thanks SO MUCH for taking the time to stop by my blog!
As always . . .

Fall is right around the corner ...

Hello my friends!
I have a busy week planned (again! lol) but wanted to share with you a card I took the time to make over the past weekend to participate in a few fun challenges.  I know ... I should be working on my design team projects but I just couldn't help myself!  I'm sure you understand!  LOL!

(For directions on creating this fancy fold card and others, click on the FANCY FOLDS TAB at the top of my blog then click on the title to go to my post with the measurements/directions)

With Fall right around the corner and working on some card projects for upcoming Fall Craft Shows, here is the creation I have to share with you today.

One of the challenges that caught my attention is the new August challenge for Scor-Pal.  Of course you have to use more than one score.  No problem there with this Tri Shutter Fold, but also they ask you to follow the theme of 'Food for Thought'.  Well, I figure pumpkin is food and don't you just love that Thanksgiving pumpkin pie?  I sure do!  And thankful for all the blessings (including the pie) each year has given me!

Other challenges I had in mind while creating this fancy fold card are the always fun challenges at Cheery Lynn Designs (Anything Goes) and Craft-Dee Bowz (Anything Goes using a bow).  Craft-Dee Bowz also has a fun filled blog hop tomorrow and Friday ... be sure to check it out!

And here are a few other challenges I thought I'd share in:
That Craft Place Challenge - Autumn or Steampunk
The Ribbon Girl August Challenge - Anything but a Square + ribbon
Crafty Calendar August Challenge - Anything Goes
Crafty Cardmakers & More - Fancy Folds

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
Hope you're week is going well for you and you'll have the chance to stop back again real soon!
As always ...

What are you working on today???

Hello my friends!
Not sure what you are working on today but I'm still working on fancy fold cards and other crafty items for my upcoming Fall Craft Shows ... (first one Sept. 24).  Time goes by so darn fast I thought I'd better get started!

Today I have another Tri Shutter Card, this time using Graphic45 'French Country' design paper.

I just love the "WOW" factor this card fold has!
I haven't shown one person a card like this that they don't say WOW ... that is so cool!  And, open and close it a half dozen times!  LOL!

MY TRI-SHUTTER PHOTO TUTORIAL CAN BE FOUND HERE!

There are no additional embellishments on this card other than the design paper.
A little bit of fussy cutting gave me all the detail and design I was looking for.

A few challenges to share in ...
Scribble and Scrap Challenge #23 - Always Anything Goes
So Artful July Challenge - Colorful Feathers

That's it for me today.  I'll probably be staying in my 'cave' all day, for the next few days.  Going to be in the upper 80s near 90 and our A/C is broken.  We've gotten a few estimates on replacing our central air system and in fact, the guy is on his way over right now to sign the papers and get the job lined up.  HOWEVER, I don't expect it will be soon enough to deal with the high temperatures predicted!  SO ... I'll just keep 'playing in the cave' and hope for the best!

Back to work!
I've switched over to Post-It note booklets and 3x5 Note Pad Booklets so I'd better get busy!  Thanks for stopping by and hope you're have a fabulous start to your week!

OH AND GOOD NEWS to report!
Hubby just came back from his Oncologist appointment where he received the results of last week's CT Scan and I'm thrilled to tell you it was a THUMBS UP!
He continues to be CANCER FREE!
We are SO BLESSED!  Thank you Lord!

Sunday Morning Sharing . . .

Good Sunday Morning all . . .

Over the past week I've been inspired by many of my crafting friends to do some 'fancy fold' creations.  So, when I received a phone call from the mother of one of my neighbors requesting a 'special' card for her lady friend whom she was having lunch with later in the week, I knew exactly what style this lady would consider 'special' and immediately started working on this sweet Tri-Shutter Fold creation.
