My Friend's New Challenge Blog

Hello All and Happy Thursday!

My friend Terri Snode (Terri's Cards N More) has started a new monthly challenge blog called 'Stinkin' Inkers Challenge' and their first challenge theme is
'Shower of Flowers'.

Earlier in the week new DT member Barbara Campbell (My Creative Room) at the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog shared a card (seen HERE) that inspired me so I used her card as the jumping point for today's creation.

I just LOVE how this came together and think it really POPS!
My corner die is one from the Memory Box 'Distressed Addington Collage'
Memory Box - Dies - Open Studio - Distressed Addington Collage
die set which was purchased from the Dies R Us Store.
My floral vine is an older stamp/die set from Heartfelt Creations called 'Birds & Blooms'.

I did my die cutting from white card stock then colored my vine & flowers using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers DG2, GB6 and PL3.

The butterflies were punched from a scrap of daffodil yellow card stock using the Martha Stewart 3-in-1 butterfly punch.  A few little freehand dashes using a fine tip black marker gave my butterflies movement.

And of course I had to give my vine/flowers some life by conditioning them using a stylus.

Team Diane is hosting the new challenge today
at the Double D Challenge Blog with a theme of NEONS / BRIGHTS
here's the mood board to help get you started . . .

You would think in all the papers, etc. I have in my crafting cave

I created my own background paper with bright paints and a sponge brush.
I also sponge brushed a panel with blue and a panel with pink to die cut my sentiment from.
How do you like my bubble wrap corners?
Aren't I getting 'artsy' ... lol!

A few iridescent sequins and yellow Nuvo crystal drops
and my card to ready to hit the birthday party!!

Birthday Cards

Hello Everyone!
My goodness but my days are flying by!
I have a private show coming up on May 3rd so I'm
keeping busy with making sure I have enough cards and
other goodies for the ladies to choose from.

I 'rediscovered' the other day that I had this large and beautiful
stack of 12x12 Heartfelt Creations papers that I purchased
at a special prices a few years ago and thought they'd work
well for some individual cards and card sets for this upcoming show.
What do you think?

BOX SET INSIDE VERSE
Another group of papers in this stack I felt
would lend itself to either male or female card so
created this set:

Box Set Inside Verse
I was actually able to make TWO sets of each design for the show.
They were quick ... easy ... and I think perfect
to have on hand for those last minute or Ooops I forgot
birthday times.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
I'll be back tomorrow to share a creation made for the
new Double D challenge ... just wait until you
see what Diane has up her sleeve with this theme!
So much fun!!

Dies R Us - All Things Grow With Love!

Hello Everyone!
I'm excited to share another inspiration sample with you today for the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog team.
The new design team will begin sharing their gorgeous inspirations on the blog beginning tomorrow.  Please be sure to pop in each day for awesome ideas/techniques/tips & tricks from this new team of very talented crafters.

Today I have a fun card that could be used for a variety of occasions.

I began by die cutting this beautiful Dee's Distinctively 'Lattice' from white card stock.
Dee's Distinctively Dies - Lattice 1
Actually, I also cut my Impression Obsession 'Lily Trio'  from white card stock then proceeded in coloring the flowers using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

The Impression Obsession 'Songbird Branch' was first die cut from dark green card stock.  Then I decided I wanted two different birds on the branch, so I die cut just the birds, once in red and once in light blue.  A few little snips and Viola!

The scene needed grass in front of the lattice so I chose the Precious Marieke 'Grass Border'.  I also felt it needed a bit of 'greenery' along the left side so I die cut a vine from the same dark green card stock as the songbird branch using the Memory Box 'Climbing Vine' die.

The only thing needed was a sentiment.  I originally stamped and die cut this sentiment using a banner die but then didn't like how it looked.  So I stamped it again and this time I die cut using one of the Tutti Designs 'Nesting Stitched Hearts'.  PERFECT!!

Tutti Designs - Yellow Tulips for your Birthday!

Happy Sunday Everyone!
Today I'm sharing a creation using two of the new March Release Birthday dies
available at the Tutti Designs Store.

The dies I've used today are the Birthday Flowers

After die cutting my pot of flowers from white cardstock,
I decided I wanted to make them yellow tulips ... so I matted my flower pot
onto a panel of dark green card stock then recut just the top portion
of my die onto yellow paper and proceeded in 'filling in' my flowers.

It took a few minutes but was so worth it!
I love how it came together.  I only had a small scrap of this
yellow card stock left so also die cut the banner but only the center flags.

A few little dabs of Nuvo Yellow Crystal Drops and my card was complete.

Here's a peek at the inside of my card using one of the Tutti Designs Nesting Stitched Rectangle dies.

Dies R Us - Today's Color is Blue

Hello friends!
Happy APRIL FOOLS DAY!
Today I have a card to share for the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog.
There is some exciting DT news at the DRU blog today and that's no April fools joke!
You'll want to be sure to pop over and check it out!

INSIDE

Here are the dies I've used on today's card:

Tutti Designs - Happy Word Set #228
Tutti Designs - Birthday Word Set #229
Elizabeth Craft - Butterfly Silhouette #704
Elizabeth Craft - Butterfly Overlay 1 #705

I was actually able to utilize some scraps for my card today!  Always a GOOD thing when I can do that!  These bits and bobs of designer paper were left over from earlier creations and how exciting that they came together so well today!

Have you ever started running your die through your machine and the die slipped 'just a little' and  missed the mark for a perfect cut?  Well, that's what happened to me and you know how we crafters are ... 'can't throw anything away!' LOL

So, in this case, I just hid it under the butterfly wing.  Sssshhh!  Don't tell anyone!!  LOL
See ... you wouldn't have known if I hadn't told you!!!

Hello Everyone!
It's time once again for a new challenge at Do-Al(l) Creatives

This month's theme is:

EASTER

and our sponsor is:

offering a $12.00 prize to their shop at the prize.

Today I've used the adorable image called 'Easter Bonnet Bunny'.

I had so much fun coloring and creating this card.
I was actually able to use up some 'scraps' of card stock for
today's design ... YAY!  Love when that happens.

My image was die cut using the Tutti Designs 'Nesting Stitched Rectangles'
and I also used the Tutti Designs 'Tulip Corner' as an accent.

A few pearl drops created using Nuvo crystal drops and
my card is ready for mailing!

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun at Do-Al(l) Creatives.
