Foiled Stackables Holiday Cards

Hello Friends and Happy Sunday Afternoon!

The other day while watching a new cooking show on my laptop, I worked at putting together the 3D images on a couple more stackable sheets.  Here's the sheet & cards I'm sharing today and there's more to come (just a warning lol).

As I've mentioned in the past, I've had these sheets sitting on the shelf waiting for me to show them some love for several (probably 5-10 years) so it's about time I got busy turning them into cards.

First up is the Santa from the far left corner of the sheet.
I used gold mirror paper for the background which was embossed using a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  The icicle header was created from a scrap of white card stock and a very old Martha Stewart icicle punch.  I matted my 3D image in Red Glitter paper and white card stock.

This second card is very similar to the first just different background color mirror paper.

For my last card I went with Silver Sheen paper for the background then die cut a frame from white card stock using Memory Box 'Wrapped Stitched Frames' die set (one of my all time favorite rectangle frame die sets).  The snowflakes were punched from various mirror & glitter papers using a very old EK Success snowflake punch.

I wish you could see the beautiful shine & sparkle on these cards.
I just couldn't seem to get a good enough photo to show how beautiful they all really are!

Challenges to share in today:

Another fun sketch to play with . . .

 Hello Friends and Welcome Back!

As promised, I have a few cards to share using a sketch that caught my eye over on Splitcoast Stampers.  I haven't posted any of my projects over there for years but I do stay on as a member in hopes that one days I'll get back to sharing there again ... just doesn't seem to be enough hours in my day!  LOL (I wonder why!)  And it's a wonderful location for inspiration!

Anyways ... here's the sketch

And here are a few cards I created ...

I've once again used those 'stackable sheets' for my flowers (scroll down through my blog for more details).  I've had these put together for several weeks and I thought they would work perfectly with this sketch.  What do you think??

The first two cards use the same Mintay designer paper for the corner element ... the only difference is the stackable floral element.  I even kept the sentiment the same as I am in need of a LOT of birthday cards for my two upcoming Craft Shows in November.

For the third card in this trio I decided to create a Thinking of You card and as you can see, I added an extra solid color strip above the angle for more definition.  In hind sight, I wish I had done that with the first two cards also ... oh well!   The stamp set I have used for my sentiments is from Simon Says Stamps. (heart is also part of the set).

At this rate, I should have plenty of cards for my shows  ... that is if I can keep making 3 or 4 cards (or more) a day!  LOL

Thanks so much for stopping by ... hope your weekend is fabulous!
As always . . .

Playing with a sketch . . .

 Welcome back friends!

The other day I spotted a sketch challenge and the sketch really caught my eye so I decided to play along.  The challenge is at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog ... here's the sketch.

Other challenges to share in:

Use Your Stuff Challenge #433 - Autumn/Fall (ends 10/23)
Double Trouble Challenge #94 - Fall Garland Inspiration

CURRENT CHALLENGE #94 Fall Garland Inspiration Photo - OPEN OCT 4TH - OCT 17

Girlz Creative Crafts Challenge #17 - Autumn (ends 10/14) [no stamps used - all dies)
The Crafting Challenge October Challenge - Autumn Colors (ends 10/31)

After making the first card, I liked it so well I thought why not make another card for a different occasion ... hence, card #2.  I did switch it up a bit and put the balloons on the opposite side.

The rectangle dies and Happy Birthday dies are from Tutti Designs and the balloons are by Paper Rose ... Bunch of Balloons (#16694).

OMG ... I just spotted another sketch (this one is over on Splitcoast Stampers) that I want to play with LOL.  So I'll probably be back some time over the weekend with a few cards using that particular sketch.

Wishing you a FABULOUS Fall Weekend ahead!!

Reindeer Games

Hello Friends ...

Today I have a card to share that I pulled together the other evening in order to play along in the Christmas with the Cuties Challenge.  Their theme is Rudolph and Friends (feature a deer).  I have had all three of these dies for several years and it was fun to put them together on one card.

Rudolph is an old Cottage Cutz die called Deer w/Wreath (#283)

Tree is by Impression Obsession called Fir Trees (DIE-084)

Santa's Sleigh is also by Impression Obsession (DIE-083)

I created the background by simply sponging what ink was left on one of my TH oxide blue ink sponge daubers and added Stickles 'waterfall' for the falling snow.  Though a bit difficult to see, I also tore a strip of white card stock to created the snow that Rudolph is standing in.

Other challenges to share in:

Make The Cards Challenge #36

 Welcome back friends!

It's time for a new challenge over on  Make The Cards Challenge.
Today we are having a sketch challenge ...

Once again I've reached into my scrap bin for the designer papers used on my card.  This sketch lends itself perfectly to using scraps!  And, with it being Fall, I went for a sunflowers & burlap theme.  In fact, there was just enough of both scraps to create two cards ... here's a peek at Card #2.

The only difference is the background scrap used to mat the sentiment Spellbinder Labels 14 panel.  My Laurel leaves are from Sue Wilson (CED1437).  They were die cut from a scrap of white card stock then colored using a green Tombow marker.

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun ... here's the link for you one more time ...

Diane is our host for today's challenge and the theme is:

Owls and/or Pumpkins

I'm sure I have plenty of stamps/dies that I could have used for today's card but when I spotted this image online I just had to print it onto glossy photo paper and make it the star of the card!  I did a little 'spider webbing' around the outer edge of my base card and popped up the Impression Obsession 'Boo' sentiment.  VIOLA!!

Be sure to pop over to the Double D Challenge Blog to see all the details and amazing samples offered up by our VERY TALENTED design team ladies!!

Here's the prize you'll be playing for this time around ...

Christmas Bears

Hello Friends!

What a BEAUTIFUL day we are having here in NE Ohio, USA!
A 'perfect' Fall day!  Dark clouds one minute and beautiful sunshine the next!
Anyways, I started these cards a few days back and finally got around to finishing them today in between working in the house and mowing grass.  And, I figured there's no time like the present to share them with you.

The images, once again, came from one of the many 'stackable' sheets I've been hoarding for years.  If you scroll down through my blog you'll see others I've been sharing over the past couple of weeks.  This sheet didn't have a manufacturer name on it but it's one of those ones that was created on foil paper so the pictures were a little difficult to capture just how beautiful they are in person.  But I did my best.

I've added a little of this and a little of that to create the cards but wanted the image to be the main focus.  Plus, it's been great to use up some of the VERY OLD designer papers I've been hoarding for years too.

Aren't they adorable?

Who doesn't like a Teddy Bear!!  LOL

Thanks so much for stopping in and I hope you're having a FABULOUS day!
As always . . .

EXCITING NEWS . . .

 Hello Friends!

Did you know there's a brand new Christmas challenge blog out there in Blogland starting TODAY?  As you can see by their beautiful logo above, the name is

Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge

We can all use a little more 'peace' in our lives these days and of course we all have holiday cards to get started on before time gets away from us so why not come join in their challenge fun.  The theme is ANYTHING CHRISTMAS and there will be 2 challenges a month on the 1st & 3rd Sunday of each month.

Here's an inspiration board we are offering to inspire you ...

Here's what I've created for our 1st challenge ... as you can see, I was inspired by the stocking in the lower left corner.

I went through my holiday dies and found this fun Spellbinder Holiday Cheer die set containing a stocking that I thought would work for what I had in mind.  Unfortunately, this set is retired but can still be found in places like EBay and Amazon.

As you can see by the image above, the stocking has snowflake pop outs and since I wanted to use a stencil on the stocking, I decided to trace around the die and fussy cut out a couple.

Then I used the Tim Holtz 'Holiday Knit' stencil and carefully positioned it so I would get the zig zag edge to create the illusion of a white fur top.  I also used white Nuvo crystal drops zig zagged along the top for texture (difficult to see in photo but cool IRL).

I finished off my card with a Penny Black sentiment from the 'Winter Cheer' die set.

It's TWO OLD BATS time . . .

Hello friends and thanks for stopping by today!

It's time once again for a new monthly challenge over on the
Two Old Bats Halloween Blog!

Just wait until you see what the team has created ... OMG!!  And to help us get our mojo going, Diane (yep, my Old Bat partner) has created this fabulous inspiration board. . .

For today's creation, I was obviously inspired by the image in the upper right corner.  I knew I had this 'pumpkin face' in my stash from YEARS ago and so that was my starting point.  From there I hunted for a black & white gingham designer paper panel ... whew finally located one!  Then (better late then never) I looked in my Halloween drawer and had forgotten I bought 2 new paper packs (all Halloween) last year and there were several panels I could have used.  LOL  Oh well ... that's what happens when you get OLD!  LOL

Anyways, having the pumpkin face and gingham paper made this card put together VERY QUICK!  A few bat stickers and a sentiment and VIOLA!!

Just to refresh your memory ... here's a recap of how things are done on our blog.

Four Seasons Challenge - FALL

Hello Dear Friends ...

A new month means a new challenge over on the Four Seasons Challenge Blog.  Our theme this month once again is FALL and we have a fun mood board to share for your inspiration.

As you have probably guessed, I was inspired by the fall leaves, black cat and the bats!  What fun to get creative with a stencil, inks and a few dies.

The stencil is one of Tim Holtz and works great with either his distress inks or his distress oxides.  It depends on how bold you want the colors to be.  I didn't like the all white border so I used a fine tip black marker and did some faux stitching.  My sentiment was die cut from white card stock then I used the same sponges used for my leaves to give it coordinating color.

Our DT is awesome and have some amazing projects to share with you today so please be sure to pop over to see.  I forgot to mention that from time to time you'll find we are offering up a prize and BFF Diane is getting us off with a bang by offering up this awesome prize ...

 How cool is that!
But remember ... you have to play to win!
So, hop on over to our new Four Seasons Challenge Blog where our theme changes every 3 months and join in the FUN!

Hope to see you there!
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a WONDERFUL month ahead!!

As always,

Merry Little Christmas Challenge Time

 Hello Everyone!

It's a new month and that means the start of a new monthly challenge

I needed inspiration today and  spotted this design on Pinterest.  It is by Nancy's Creative Mess back in 2016.  Thanks for inspiring me Nancy!  It just so happened I had that exact same border die so this design really helped get me moving!

 Memory Box 'Frostyville Border' (#98146)

I hope you've enjoyed today's Christmas card and I can't wait to see what you create and share over at the Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog.
