Double D - BIRTHDAY

Hello Dear Friends!
It's time once again for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!
I'm thrilled to be your hostess today and since I just had a birthday on Monday,
I thought it would be the perfect theme for today's challenge

BIRTHDAY

Here's the mood board I've created to help inspire you . . .

I needed a birthday card for the young lady next door who
just turned 15 (I remember when she was born right after we moved here)
and each year I try to make special birthday cards for her
and her sister when their birthday's roll around.
Here's what I came up with for Ms. Emily.

I sure hope she likes it!  She loves pink & sparkle
so I think she'll like it!

And, the fact that it's different from just an ordinary card ... I think she'll be surprised!

I've use the Pink & Main Box Card die for my basic card.
I have a couple other box card dies but I think this one is my favorite!

Pink & Main - Dies - Box Card

I went through my 6x6 paper pads to find a few different
black and white panels and came up with these two.
DCWV - The Dots, Stripes & Plaids mat stack (polka dots)
the Paper Studio - Harper's Boutique (music)

Many of the pieces used were actually off cuts from other projects.
For instance, I wasn't planning on using the lime green color but this sentiment was laying on my stand up work table so I added sparkle to it and added it as a topper.  The fairy was also laying on another table (I bet you all think I have bits & bobs laying all over the place, lol ... ssshhh I do!).  The Heartfelt bird (also laying around) but the flower/branch panel although it was already stamped & colored, I did have to fussy cut it before I could use it.

I die cut the Tutti Designs Happy Birthday sentiment from lime green card stock and added glitter to tie in with the header.  The balloon is from the box card die set so I simply added the die cut numbers and some bakers twine for the balloon strings.

Lime green Stickles was added to the flower centers and also used to 'dot' the 'I' in the word Birthday.

The prize being offered this challenge is this fun
Yvonne Creations 'Balloons' bouquet die.

REMEMBER:  We have a fun prize to give away to one lucky player,
which will be chosen by Random.org

  14. Totally adorable card! I've yet to make a box card, but have wanted to for quite a while. Yours is full of lovely details. I too have little pieces of things that were made and didn't make it into the final project. Mine are forgotten in a little box...I am very impressed that you used some of yours!
