Double D - Tropical

Hello Dear Friends!

It's time once again for a new challenge over on the Double D Challenge Blog!
Diane is hosting today and as you can see by my blog title ... the theme is:
 TROPICAL
Here is the fabulous mood board she has created to help inspire you . . .

I was inspired by the beautiful image in the top left corner for today's creation . . .

I must admit, I love creating 'scenery' cards and this was an easy one to create with a couple of fun dies.  I simply got out my Tim Holtz distress inks and started sponging a background panel to mimic the one in Diane's awesome mood board.
Cheapo Dies - Palm Trees

Next I die cut the Cheapo Dies - Palm Trees die from black card stock and then just the sun/moon portion from yellow card stock and did a little 'paper piecing' with the popped out elements to create my silhouette.
Impression Obsession - Dies - Beach Chairs

Then I needed a place to sit and watch the sunset so I added an adirondack chair from the Impression Obsession Beach Chair dies set.

My sentiment is an old, old wooden block stamp by Inkadinkado.
OMG check out this awesome prize Diane is offering up to one lucky winner!

  17. Hi Darlene,
do you remember your card from june 30th with the gorgeous 'old' SU stamp on it? I liked this stamp so much so I tried to buy it, but without success! But there was a lady who had this set and she stamped the images for me. I am so glad about that. Have a look at my blog on july 12th and have a look what I did with one of the images!
    Have a great day,
    Lia xx
